Jean laughed lightly, grinning at her fellow redhead. “I’ve never gotten that response before. I like it.”

Mary-Jane had always been peculiar, anything she said usually didn’t make sense to the people who weren’t in theater. For some reason her high school friends just liked her quirks. ❛ What can I say? I like to look at all my options. Sometimes a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. ❜

Kate laughed lightly, nudging the redhead gently. “Don’t over think it. It’s a lame pun I heard from Clint.” The brunette laughed a little more, shaking her head before pretending to be a zombie. “Graaaaaaaiiins.”

❛ Oh... My... Gosh. That is absolutely awful and I love everything about it. ❜ Mary-Jane started to chuckle, observing the girl with a smile on her lips. It’d been awhile since she heard something that made her laugh.

❛ I have absolutely no idea. Do those even exist? A zombie would be like dead without flesh, I mean dead undead because they’re already dead. You get me. ❜

“Sooo, with it being technically summer, I guess a tour of campus is a shot in the dark?”

❛ I mean... I can give you the run around, I’ve got time and nothing else to do. ❜

“If a leaf fell on your face and stayed there, would you eat it?”

❛ I mean... What kind of mood am I in? If I’m hungry after dance practice I mean yeah maybe. If I just ate then probably not. ❜

{jeremy}:

According to this morning’s news broadcast, it would rain this afternoon. A perfect time to go for a walk. It occurred to him that he never walked through the rain so he figured it would be a good time as any. With an umbrella in his hand, he walked out of the building. Walking towards nothing in particular. After ten minutes of no rain, he almost thought about going back. But that’s when he heard someone. As he turned towards her he noticed that it rained. ‘’It’s alright, ma’am.’’ He said smiling as it finally rained. ‘’It’s not much but,’’ He stretched out his hand with the small umbrella. ‘’I want you to have it.’’ It was obvious she needed it more than him. And Jeremy didn’t mind the rain. In fact, he was welcoming it.

She looked to the boy with eyes shifting through confusion and thankfulness. Such a small act of kindness had made her already forget how exactly to use words properly. There was no need for him to do that yet he’d done it anyway and she grinned. The smile slipped through her cheeks and cascaded warmth over her tinted cheeks. Even though the rain nipped at her skin she wasn’t able to feel it as sharply now that she smiled. The girl took the item before finally finding some sort of collective thoughts she could form into a sentence. ❛ Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. I’ll return it to you I promise. ❜ The redhead met his gaze trying to show her sincerity as best as possible. ❛ Is there anything I can do for you? To say thanks? ❜

{groot}:

At the entry gates to the campus, Groot sat right in the middle of the path, his entire focus zoned in on the box of candy the last SHIELD agent had given him. He had ripped through the box to receive his prize of brown and orange crunchy circles and devoured them, one by one, until he was left with nothing.  Only then did he take any notice of where he was.  

The silly humans had released him! Proud of his victory, he puffed out his chest and looked around.  But where was he?  Was this where Rocket was?  The only way to find out was to ask.  So, Groot called out to the nearest passing person.  “I am Groot!” [Hey! You!]

A small sigh was seeping through the parting of her lips while her thumb tapped rhythmically against her knee. She hadn’t remembered the past time she was outside, in fact it was nice to feel the sun dancing against her skin to create a warm path where its feet trailed. The girl’s mind was wandering far from the book in her lap until she realized it should be time to go. Procrastinating with a book seemed better than watching television but still she had to force herself upward. Hearing a voice she turned, a bright smile appearing on her lips.

Trouble was, just because Josh recognised her didn’t mean a name was coming to mind, he’d spent most of his first few weeks here trying to not get killed, or it felt that way to him. He just shrugged and kept holding the coat out to her, “It’s fine,” he mumbled, looking down, “It’s only water.” he told her, and he had a spare set of clothes in his room to change into. “Besides, I won’t get ill or anything,” the more he looked into medicine the more he could feel things happening in his own body, if an infection started he could eradicate it straight away. “More like awful all the time.” he said, crossing his arms, “Nothing we can do about it though.”

Her eyes glazed up to observe the world that poured down from above her. There was a glisten that came over the scenery due to the water that was now exposing itself. He was right, that’s all it really was. ❛ That’s true, where would we be without it, right? ❜ Mary-Jane had accumulated too many colds from being out in the middle of the rain. Her luck wasn’t the best, in fact she almost attracted trouble. It used to drive her father to anger how much his daughter found herself in a sticky situation. ❛ Lucky you... I’m already guessing I’ll at least get a cold. ❜ A sigh pressed outward from her lips to breathe with the rain. ❛ That’s true. I don’t know, might be awful but I at least try to see that things could be better for like a second. ❜

{josh}:

Josh preferred going about at night, things were less busy and it wasn’t as scary to go around. He was debating a trip to the kitchens, sneaking in through the window and praying to God the scary/nice guy with the terminator arm wasn’t there, when he heard someone yelling and looked over. A girl… He’d seen her before, right? He thought so, and she was getting wet. “Umm… Here,” he said, taking off his jacket and handing it out to her, manners were ingrained, and he didn’t mind getting wet, he still had a t-shirt, plus it was night time, not as many people around to gawk at his skin. “The world hates everyone. It’s a real ass.” he said quietly.

The female recognized him after taking a few moments to overlook the features she believed had met her iris’ before. An exhale pressed through her lips so that water brushed by her teeth to escape the chill outside. ❛ Oh you don’t have to do that. ❜ If there was one thing she never expected it was kindness, in New York it was hard to find like this. ❛ Thank you, are you sure though? I don’t wanna make you cold or wet... I mean like more than you already are. ❜ Mary-Jane moved the piecing of clothing over her goosebump cascaded arms then sighed. ❛ Yeah, ain’t that the truth? Kind of awful sometimes. ❜

“I, for one, was quite a fan of the school gym clothes. Besides the Tube Socks, of course. The bright, eye stabbingly bad shade of yellow really accentuated the dead look in my eyes and the pain and sorrow in my soul. Plus, it made me feel like the crazy quilt man running around with vibration gloves. Remember him? Good times, real good times.” Ah, Shocker. No one was quite up there on the loser scale as Shocker. There was just something so funny about crazy quilt man trying to rob banks with so many powered folk around. He had no doubts in his head that even Mary Jane could beat his ass. Hell, MJ could probably take on half of the people Peter has beaten. He needed some better enemies. But not as good as Norman “Yeah, Spidey is cool and all, but I’m tired of hearing Mr Shitstache talking trash about him. It ain’t funny anymore.” Peter lamented, letting a few very real gripes out under the guise of a joke. “Are you telling me you don’t hang out with Flash every night and talk shit behind my back? Because that’s not what a certain Redhead I’m talking to at this very second told me one night after getting shit-faced” Peter loved messing with MJ. He knew she would know it was a lie, all Peter wanted was to see how deadly of a glare he could elicit from her. “Well, lemme tell you that if you are trash, you are the fanciest trash I’ve seen. Forty Karrot gold, diamond studded dumpster.”

❛ Are you kidding me? Those outfits were the best, my favorite was when we played dodgeball in them and someone hit a dude in the face so the red blood accents really complimented his skin tone. Man, high school was a great. I mean, awful, but it had its moments. Yeah! I remember that guy. That was a weird thing that happened, New York was just odd. ❜ Mary-Jane tried to keep her nose out of situations that were trouble yet failed to do so each time. She dived into the weird side of New York a long time ago, though she’d never really learned much than the world was much stranger than she thought. ❛ It was never funny, he just doesn’t get what Spiderman’s trying to do and that’s alright. Not everyone can or will. Like in acting, not everyone likes a performance but someone out there always does which is who you do it for, the one that gets it. ❜ Her eyes rumbled into a roll as she listened to him talk. Flash was that one guy that hung around, got her into all the parties, and helped her forget her home life through the use of a keg. Meanwhile, Peter was the only person who saw her as more than a pretty face that was down for a good time. ❛ Would you shut up? I’ve never been that drunk before, not yet anyway. ❜ The girl’s fist pushed into his shoulder. She appreciated him more than she could really express. ❛ Now you’re just lying to me. You said I was the one lying? Ha! Clearly it’s you. ❜

“Did I ask for conversation? No. If I wanted such a thing, I’d actively search it out. Not that I’d go to a pretty little thing like you for that. You look like you’re better suited for PHYSICAL entertainment.”

She could take it as an insult, she could take it as a compliment – it mattered none to him. He followed in her step, hands flexing as every fiber in his being told him he was letting her off too e a s y.

❛ Doesn’t really look like you’d go to anyone for conversation, you’re not very approachable and a little too cranky to be friendly. ❜ Mary-Jane shrugged, trying to keep her tongue tucked behind her teeth instead of using it as a weapon. A little bit of the poisonous words slipped out in the form of sarcasm but she contained the rest. ❛ Good thing I’m an actress, that’s all they want in a girl anymore. An object. Glad to know I have a future. ❜ Continuing to walk she dug her jaw deep into its socket to try and hold back her annoyance.

This day had been awful, in fact it was so terrible that all Mary-Jane currently wanted to do was dive deeply into her bed, engulf herself in the comforter, and maybe avoid the world for the next 10 hours. That wasn’t going to be happening though. She had too many things left to do, one being go to an audition in town which she was currently running late for and that didn’t even include slipping in an application at a diner on the way there. The redhead was feeling trapped inside this school and the lack of social interaction was suffocating. She needed out. That’s when the light drops of water started to cascade over her cheeks, a groan escaping, her resume wilting in her hands. It was over for the night. ❛ Are you kidding me right now? Seriously? ❜  A face turned to her as if she’d spoken to them. ❛ Sorry, not you, I’m talking to the world and how it hates it right now. My bad. ❜

{bobby}:

“Good. Being able to call you MJ will avoid the whole awkward, ‘wait, am I her friend? Should I call her MJ’ thing. I’d probably make a fool out of myself there too somehow.” He chuckled with a bright smile. 

❛ What? You don’t want to be my friend or something? I get it, it’s fine. Here I thought us fools stuck together, apparently I was mistaken. ❜ A false offense was portrayed until laughter overwhelmed the performance, trickling outward from her lips. ❛ As long as you own it, people won’t think of you as a klutz or a fool, trust me. ❜

{bobby}:

Bobby nodded. “See someone gets it. I want to at least get through my first day before I’m the clutz.” He chuckled and shook his head before holding his hand out. “I’m Bobby. Nice to meet you fellow fool.” 

❛ I’ve been known in the past as a pretty understanding person. ❜ Mary-Jane’s smile stuck firmly to her face while words contiued to fumble outward into the open air. ❛ Mary-Jane Watson, friends usually call me MJ, in fact even people who aren’t my friend do. Good to meetcha, glad to know I’m not the only goof around here. ❜

“Well I’m sure I will make a food out of myself eventually. There’s no doubt about that. Like 0 doubt about it. But I just don’t want to do it in my first day here. You get me? I’m a goof and a clutz. But I don’t want everyone to know that right this moment.” he said with a chuckle. 

❛ There’s nothing wrong with being a fool every once in awhile. In fact, I can’t wait for you to do it. ❜ She nodded her head, trying to keep more laughter from trickling through her teeth. ❛ I get you though. They can wait it out for a bit then release the truth. Makes sense, fair point. ❜

Bobby shook his head. “I don’t know if ‘being sneaky’ is what I’m doing. More like scared of making a fool out of myself. But thanks for the name Scaredy Cat on the first day. Inspires confidence.” 

❛ What’s wrong with making a fool out of yourself? I do it on the daily. It’s actually kind of not so bad after this long. ❜ The redhead allowed a chuckle to press forward through her lips. ❛ Of course, it’s what I’m here for. If it makes you feel any better though, I’ve been here a month or so and I have one friend but he’s from back home. I’m like the biggest loser of them all. ❜

“You’ve been talking for the last five minutes. Are you going to show me where the Administration Building is or not?” 

Sebastian’s snappy at this point. Not only is he going to be teaching youth and dealing with stupidity, but he’ll be doing so on a campus funded and developed by a Stark. Clearly so.

❛ Wow, okay then my bad for trying to make some conversation. Seriously dude. It’s this way... ❜ She thought she was correct in her assumption but as she walked she began to wonder more of that was indeed right.
