Korshak Q&A with Mark Davis
Meet Mark Davis, a fine jewelry designer based in New York City. Mark Davis is known for his use of vintage Bakelite, one of the first plastics ever made. Since Bakelite is no longer produced, the designer scours antique markets and estate sales to acquire the rare material…sometimes in the most unusual forms, like a jute box or a radio! The Bakelite is then shaped and restored to its original luster and set with modern inlays or precious and semi-precious stones.
