The finishing touches to the exterior of the treehouse. We’ve added ivy vines, gathered locally and silk ivy leaves. Also little bits of moss to help it all look more established. Finally - and I’ve been really excited about this - some of Georgia Marfel’s gorgeous bats in the eaves.

Here is the start of landscaping. I spent hours varnishing the treebark to protect it and give it longevity. Not that there’s anything to see with that. But I also painted and varnished the external cobblestones and then got to play with the grass. I’ve never used static grass before but followed some instructional videos such as this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-E_ElExUts 

Having the green really starts to liven the house up. Next weekend I’ll be adding moss and ivy to the treehouse.

Painting the bark, trying to match the colour of the two real wood knots that the chimneys emerge from. Robin, my partner completed the cellar door which hides some junction points for the electrics.

Robin made the wonky chimenys for the livingroom inglenook and the kitchen stove. The next stage is painting the cobblestones leading from both doors, adding in grass, moss and ivy.
