Hey Robert, what the fuck did you mean by this?
It seems as though he's implying that either he or Michael were uncertain in their feelings, which leads to two different fascinating interpretations of Robert's perspective.
Maybe he genuinely isn't sure whether his feelings for Michael were romantic or not. It's clear from The Evil We Love that their bond was incredibly intimate, but at the time he never considered that he might be in love with Michael and only feared that others would assume he was queer. However, Robert has undergone a lot of personal development in the time since 1984, and it's definitely possible that he's only recently started to wonder if his feelings for Michael were purely platonic. There's something really tragic in the idea of Robert retroactively questioning his teenaged feelings, after Michael has been dead for decades and there's nothing anybody can do to change anything.
Alternatively, Robert could mean that he isn't sure whether or not Michael was truly romantically in love with him, which would be an interesting doubt for him to have. So much of his life was defined by his fear of Michael's queerness, and the idea that Michael just mistook his parabatai feelings for romantic ones would absolve Robert while also adding even more guilt to the situation. It might be able to help him simply miss his friend in peace, if he didn't have to worry about the moral nuances of Michael's illegal affections. At the same time, if he entertained the possibility that Michael may have moved past those feelings peacefully then he'd have to admit that he ended their friendship over nothing.
I am simply fixated on middle aged Robert who's slightly more emotionally intelligent and also crushingly lonely, spending his time thinking about Michael and trying to figure out what both of them felt and how things could have turned out differently.
Everyone is bloomscrolling in my beautiful internet garden
I need to take advantage of going out of town every week, soon. I need to hookup with some folks in Rome and, like, fuck in a barn. Which isn't the most practical location, but we rural sluts make do.
I don't care about the history of computers 😭 I don't want to learn about the microchip 😭 What the fuck does any of this have to do with drawing blood? 😭😭😭😭
This is actually making me crazy and angry lmao. My major is PHLEBOTOMY, this computer literacy class isn't even teaching me about medical software, IT'S MICROSOFT OFFICE 360 AND THE INVENTION OF THE MICROCHIP!!!
WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING
I made it through 13 years of schooling and survived... I can do this shit for 2.5 more months. It will be painful, but I can do it.
