The 200 years old Souq Al Mubarakiya is a Souq (Bazaar/Market) situated in Kuwait city between Abdullah Al Mubarak and Palestine Street. It is the oldest Souq and trade zones of Kuwait and one of the oldest in The Middle East, according to Wikipedia. Prior the discovery of oil, this was the main source of Kuwait's income and trade centre. Still today when we think about real Persian carpets, musk, oud, traditional costumes, fish, fruits, veggies, and dates this place comes in mind, today it has extended to gold shops, electronics and food courts. This will be one of the best places to know the local culture and tradition and see how the Arabs have come along in their journey. It has always been one of my childhood favorite places, last week just went back to reminisce those moments.
