Dear Mom,
It's been awhile since I've looked deep enough to write out a letter. I'm sincerely worried about you. I fear You've lost sight of who you are, and you're the only one who can restore that essence. The mom I know is: attentive, ambitious, nurturing, and slightly rebellious but well intentioned. I worry you've forgotten what makes you so valuable. You're an important member to our tribe. You're what connects us all, and we need your link to be the strongest. I know you've denied you're role in the past. It's not easy when you feel alone and weak or possibly forgotten. It's always been a rough time, but that's what makes us all so tough. I know there are times when you've been available and your children have pushed you away because we're too prideful to ask for support. I know there are also times when we've needed you but you weren't available because you've been urged to pull away. And I'm sure you feel guilty for those times when you couldn't be there physically or emotionally, and that guilt has to be in response to your assumption that we resent you for past circumstances. We've all been deeply hurt, and it's hard to avoid the role of the victim sometimes. It's exhausting when it feels like the world is out to destroy you, and sometimes it's almost impossible to avoid taking it personally. But I have faith. I have faith that we can turn things around. It's amazing how powerful a positive attitude can be. All it takes is a spiritual agreement to mentally change for the better. To think positively is to create positivity. It's time to unravel the vicious cycle and let our light shine upon the physical world around us and make a beautiful change. I know you have that power within you. I've seen it so many times. I just don't want you to lose sight of the glow within yourself. I know you're able to light the way and chase the true vision in the distance. I love you so much, mom. Let's be excited about the future, and move forward! XOXO
I wake up every morning feeling like I'm almost out of time.
