House Ylisse has origins from across the sea, though their exact origins have been lost to time. What is known, however, is that a strange brand--similar to a Crest yet unlike any known to Fódlan’s scholars--is inherited by most in the family. The only other clue is a nigh unbreakable sword known as the Falchion, which can only be wielded by chosen members of the family ( how its wielder is chosen is a mystery to those outside of House Ylisse, but they know--Falchion always chooses her wielder ). Chrom himself bears this brand alongside the ability to wield Falchion.
After the Tragedy of Duscur, Chrom’s father was one of the most vocal supporters of the suppression of the Duscur people--indeed, he rode to war with much of House Ylisse’s resources to aid the violent annexation of Duscur and the near genocide of its people. Chrom’s father would never return alive, for his own zealousness would spell his doom. As the eldest child and therefore the heiress to House Ylisse, Emmeryn becomes Margravine Ylisse. In a drastic shift from their father, Emmeryn condemns the massacre in Duscur--though she is not terribly outspoken about it, she teaches Chrom and Lissa to love rather than to hate.
Not one for politics, Chrom aims to be a knight in the service of his elder sister, Emmeryn, and wishes to protect the people in Ylissean territory. To this aim, he enrolls in the Officer’s Academy at Garreg Mach, where he joins the Blue Lions house. Though he is friendly with the Blue Lions main cast, his inner circle is composed largely of his own childhood friends, which include vassals to House Ylisse and a number of commoners.
Chrom wields Falchion for the most part. He has strengths in swords, lances, and authority. He has weaknesses in riding, reason, and faith, though riding is a hidden talent for him. It is unknown why, but his brand offers a skill which raises the activation of his other skills by 10% ( Rightful King ), and his personal skill is Awakening, which significantly increases his hit rate, avoid, critical rate, and critical evade when his HP is low. He can also learn the skill Aether if his sword skill is nurtured enough.
Chrom can be recruited into the other houses, but if the Crimson Flower route is chosen, he will leave Byleth’s army. Though many of the western lords bow to the might of the empire, House Ylisse does not, leading to Emmeryn’s assassination. Chrom takes his younger sister Lissa and his closest circle of friends and knights and flees eastward, posing as a band of mercenaries which become known as the Shepherds. Though the Shepherds are, for the moment, primarily working to protect the people from bandits and monsters, they hope to join forces with those fighting against the Empire.
If the Azure Moon route is chosen, Chrom will agree to fight alongside Byleth, his former housemates, and the Knights of Seiros, but he will make no secret of his disapproval of Dimitri’s bloodthirst and mistreatment of the others. After his recovery, however, Chrom will swear fealty to the future king, although he warns that it is contingent on Dimitri truly making up for the wrongs he has done.
If the Verdant Wind or White Snow route is chosen and Chrom has not been recruited, Chrom will still join the pro-kingdom faction. Understanding of Dimitri’s anger but disapproving of his bloodthirst and cruelty, Chrom splits off from the pro-kingdom faction at the Battle of Grondor, disobeying Dimitri’s orders and offering his services to Byleth and Claude / the Church instead. He and the Shepherds will then fight alongside Byleth and Claude’s / the Church’s army until the end of the war. If Chrom has been recruited, he and the Shepherds will join Byleth and Claude’s / the Church’s army from the beginning of the time skip.
Though Chrom allies himself with the Knights of Seiros throughout the war, he is not particularly devout, and he does not particularly trust Rhea ( he doesn’t not trust her, mind, unless he becomes privy to the knowledge of what Rhea has done to Byleth ).
If the Crimson Flower route is chosen, Chrom will leave Byleth’s forces. Further information TBA.
After the war, he succeeds his elder sister as Margrave Ylisse. He marries and has a daughter, Lucina.
This verse exists to go alongside with the three houses verse @motherssins has. Having led Ylisse to a new era of peace, Chrom looks to strengthen his diplomatic ties with other countries, including the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. Though recent events had caused that relationship in particular to decline, Chrom sends envoys to rekindle the ties of friendship between their countries.
Their alliance renewed, the Halidom and the Holy Kingdom open trade routes and even send some of their nobility to learn more about each other and to strengthen diplomatic ties. In time, even his son Morgan is sent to the Holy Kingdom to study at the Royal School of Sorcery in the Kingdom’s capital, later attending the Officers Academy at Garreg Mach. Though Chrom misses his son, he rests secure in the knowledge that he at least has his retainer, Nah, at his side.
During the war, Chrom will send troops to aid the pro-kingdom faction. Concerned for Morgan’s safety, Chrom leads the forces himself. Trusting Morgan’s understanding of the situation, Chrom will follow whatever Morgan decides to do post time skip. If he has any misgivings about what side Morgan has chosen, he will voice them only to Morgan himself or his allies from Ylisse.
His skills are the same as they are in his main roster page ( dual strike+, charm, aether, rightful king, aegis ), and he wields Falchion.

It’s timelessly funny to make fun of Chrom refusing to wear both sleeves on shirts but honestly? You know what we really need to call the fashion police on?
I was looking at his boots because at face value the fact that they’re different colors is hilarious but,
Upon Further Inspection:
The “white” boot isn’t actually his boot; he is wearing One Massive Leg Warmer. OVER HIS BOOT. On only One Side.
Conclusion: Chrom gives up his sleeve and makes up for it by wearing a sleeve on his leg. I call this theory, “Asymmetric Chrompensation”
