so idk if this is a stupid thing to ask but why is there a difference between Jeongguk and Jungkook? Why are there two versions of Kookie's name? sorry I'm a new Army so I'm just trying to figure things out

If you’d write it out correctly from korean to english you  it would originally be Jeongguk because the letter ㅓ in 정국 is actually “eo” rather than u, as well as ㄱ on the top of 국  could both be a g and k, but in korean it would be pronounced more towards k but the prounciation isn’t fully as k, so it would be gguk rather than kuk.  But koreans would originally write it out as Jungkook, probably because it’s easier to pronounce for us :)
