first and foremost, you tell victim blamers to not interact with your blog. have you considered that cluster B disorders (including NPD and ASPD) are almost always developed from trauma? do you understand how many people develop these disorders because they were abused or otherwise deeply traumatized?
second, you evidently do not care about mentally I’ll and traumatized people since you very obviously haven’t done an ounce of professional research about stigmatized disorders. but im going to be nice and give you a few minutes of my our time regardless, not because i particularly care what you think, but because i want traumatized people with stigmatized disorders to know that they are loved and deserving of a chance to grow and they are deserving of care.
so let’s start! people with personality disorders aren’t inherently evil people. you are thinking about their thoughts, not their actions. and in that case, literally everyone would be evil if we were judging goodness based on inner thoughts due to everyone having intrusive thoughts and bad days. you do know that people with personality disorders are capable of not committing to and expressing every single thought they have right? they’re also not stupid, nor robots only programmed to hurt people. they’re human beings, just like you and i. which gives them all of the complexities of a human being.
now let’s look at a chart, which i think may help you.
so most people know that people with ASPD and NPD can’t feel empathy, but do you see all of these other feelings? do you see how empathy is not even the most supportive?
also, basing someone’s ‘goodness’ as a human being based off of their ability to feel empathy would mean you consider every low empathy person with autism to immediately be a bad person. so having a developmental disorder would make you a bad person, wouldn’t it?
next, do you….really think every person with NPD or ASPD is going to murder or abuse someone? every single one? automatically? that’s an incredibly strange belief to lump millions of different people with entirely different lives and experiences into one singular box based off of a diagnosis. would you do the same for anxiety disorders, or PTSD? would you assume we’re all little baby faun victims? once again, people with NPD and ASPD are human beings. that brings them all of the differences in person as a normal human being.
finally, an example; one of our close friends whom we love dearly has gone through some horrific trauma at many parts of his life. despite this, he has continued to give us unending support; a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear; comfort and understanding. none of these benefit him in the slightest, it’s just supporting a friend. and he has NPD. and he hurts too. but despite that deep hurt he has never once been unkind or cruel to us.
in fact, that is one example of many. we have quite a few friends with NPD, ASPD, and HPD to name a few. none of them have ever hurt us and all of them were victims of abuse.
so yes, we do love people with personality disorders. we love them because they are human like us. obviously we don’t love every single person simply because they have mental health issues, we are also human and have a moral compass. we don’t love abusers but not every person with a PD is an abuser.
