Doing a show at a college. We’re doing West Side Story. I’m the light board programmer. The spot ops are all brand new and had been given packets with info on who to hit in what song before we started.

We’re heading into Officer Krupke when:

Spot 1: Hey, LD, I have a question about who to hit in this next song?

LD: Okay.

Spot 1: *silence*

LD: …What’s the question?

Spot 1: When it says action, do we just follow the action or…?

LD: …?

SM: ..???….

Me: *uncontrollable giggling*

LD: *sighs the sigh of the long-suffering* No. Action is the character singing the song. Just follow him.

Spot 1: Oh. So he’s doing most of the action?

It took all three of us to explain his name was Action, and describe the actor. Thank you, West Side Story, for your character names.
