“what, you’re not allowed to talk?” “we’re allowed to talk.” “so is it personal?” “you intimidate them.” “my god, you’re a woman.”

more relatable pics. just a quickie. I dislike it, but the deal was that if I draw it, I put it up, so here we are. the hair is on point, but I p much gave up on her eyes
TIL: not even sure if I learned anything on this one; eyes are hard, hair is ridiculous
‘bout thirty minutes of theory. again, I use quickposes and set it on 120s each. I’m not fast enough to go for the thirty-second ones that I see some people do. I was stricken by the model for #8, and stopped the session so I could go hardcore on him.
TIL: real-life hair is mostly shading, the variety of faces people make is intense, eyes are still ridiculous
about twenty-five minutes’ worth of W/eiss’ face. again, I hit up that awesome tumblr. as you can probably tell, I’m not going perfectly in order with the relatablepics thing. I’m cherry-picking for stuff I particularly want to do, or stuff that sticks out as something I could use practice in. right now I’m pretty okay sticking with pictures of W/eiss, we’ll see if I switch. the little not-a-snowflake to the side is me messing about with geometric practice wrt her symbol.
TIL: hair remains ridiculous, geometry is hard with no reliable straightedge (I’m using my leatherman multitool), and I’m about as done with W/eiss’ hair as she is done with your shit
‘bout fifteen minutes of theory. I use quickposes, which is a great website, highly recommended. I had the settings on 120secs per face, and still felt like I learned something in the fifteen minutes I used it. it has a gestures setting, too, and I wanna hit that up sometime soon.
TIL: stuff about how noses relate to faces, how to get faster at this kind of thing, I generally enjoy drawing women more than men
about an hour of various things today. some hand drawing, some r/wby. you can tell that’s Y/ang and I’m okay with it. as you can probably tell by the commentary, I’m one of those artists that mutters hateful shit under their breath while they create, but then proceed to create anyway.
TIL: drawing machines is difficult because if you fuck it up it’s much more glaring, hands work poorly, Y/ang has a lot of fucking hair, hair actually works better if you don’t try drawing it in one continuous outline, and shading is the worst.
45 minutes of expressions today. and a little bit of n/aruto. u/chiha i/tachi looks terrible, but he also looks recognizeably like himself. I also think he would still look like himself if I took off the headband, so that’s a plus. I also smeared chocolate cake on my sketchpad. what a waste of chocolate.
TIL: hair remains ridiculous, people who make tutorials are a godsend, ears are weird.
today I spent another ~40 minutes reminding myself how out of practice I am with art. this is technically rwb/y but I’m not gonna tag it as that because this is not something I want exposed to the fandom at large. this blog - as of right now - is mainly so I can look back at this in six months and remind myself how much worse I used to be.
TIL: more stuff about different grades of pencil, hair is ridiculous, furniture is weird, references are important and fuck people who wanna hate on you for using them
I spent 40 mins reminding myself how out of practice I am with art. also that anyone who says they know how hands work is a lying liar that lies. as you can see, I gave up on the right-hand person before I got to the final stage, let alone inked him in. that’s cool. they’re recognizeably people, so I feel accomplished.
TIL: different grades of pencil and how to work with them, how not to ink with a shitty pen, and clothing is hard
