Sang-ho really did have an incredibly high opinion of himself and Merek couldn't help but roll his eyes. If there was anyone who was going to get him into trouble with Gideon eventually, it would be the man standing in front of him because Merek had forgotten just how quickly he could lose patience around the fallen angel. "I don't think I'll take your word for that, if you don't mind. I can't imagine that it's anything terribly fun considering they have you running the thing."

"Well, Mr. Hopper, the event isn't for you to enjoy," Sang-ho stated, shrugging his shoulders. "Of course you always were too busy sampling your ass around for the Council to enjoy instead of using events for that, weren't you?"

Miles eyes drifted up when Sang-ho stood. Another thing adding to the mounting number annoying him about the Chief of Staff. Guy might as well have been a vampire for the level of resentment growing in the elf. The smartass comment he was about to drop never made it from his lips when he felt the shift. It wasn't subtle and without his power it was noticeable. Motherfucker really was like Pennywise and he hated where it left him. The sudden shift caused his legs to give and he had the choice to hit the ground or grab Sang-ho and went with the decided lesser of two evils grabbing hold of the body that was already close to keep him steady as he glared just as steadily.

When he felt confident enough to talk without his voice sounding weak he finally said. "I feel like we both want the same thing." He let go of Sang-ho pretty sure he could stand on his own. "My collar off."

Sang-ho caught Miles purely so that he didn't fall over with the slave. He gave Miles the few beats he needed to get his wits –– whatever little of them he had –– about himself. He smiled back down at the slave. And then he laughed.

He laughed for a good few seconds like Miles had just told him the funniest joke in the world. "Is that what you think I want, Mr. Farrow?" he said, releasing the elf to let him stand on his own. Course Sang-ho didn't move too far away. "Enlighten me, why do you think I'd take your collar off?"

His fist brushed the door before he entered the Chief of Staff's office. Settling in wasn't hard. DC traveled light. He took a seat across from his newest coworker. "Pleasure." He said not offering a hand to the fallen angel as he looked him over putting a foot on the corner of the desk and crossing the other over the ankle as he leaned back in the chair making himself at home. "DC." He introduced himself. "I'll take a vodka on the rocks, since you're offering."

"Yes, our newest enforcer, Mr... DC," Sang-ho said. He raised a brow at the younger so brazenly sitting like an oaf in his office. He wasn't impressed by the foot on his desk though chose to do nothing about it for now. He did turn to the bar behind him and poured them both a drink, passing it to the other. "Is that all to your name or do you have a last name?" he wondered, taking a drink. "How have you been settling in so far?" They'd get to business in a moment.

"Mm, perhaps, it's a shame I have none to show you here." Of course now his works were locked away in his home far from here. A place he was unsure he'd ever go back to or see again at this point. "That would be a very kind gesture, sir." He said a little surprised by the offer, not expecting such a gift for his position.

This was more of the castle he's ever seen since his arrival. He could feel the aura of the walls that surround him, how much death had they seen in the years they've been standing. He couldn't know with the collar firmly placed around his neck though he did wish to find out. The game room stuck out to him from the rest of the castle. It was loud, bright, and filled with people that were either joyous at their winnings or angered at their loss. Warner would join the other at the bar, settling easily onto one of the stools. "Whiskey with ice."

Sang-ho didn't comment further on his offer. Yes, it was kind. Charitable even, perhaps. He might have fallen centuries ago and accepted his fate but there were moments of old habits that shone through instinctively on occasion.

He nodded and handed his card to the bartender with instruction to keep the tab open. He ordered the same thing for himself that Warner asked for. The bartender left them to pour their drinks.

"Have you caught anyone's interest yet, Mr. Beck?" he asked.

truth be told, arnon hadn’t meant to find himself in the doorway of the freshly-appointed chief of staff’s office. it had been a matter of wandering with the intent of familiarising himself with the layout of the castle again in the short space of time he was permitted thinly-veiled freedom from the confines of the undercroft. his gaze flickered from the plaque inscribing the name and title to the man himself, his lips pursing into a thoughtful pout as his mind raced to conjure up a believable excuse for his presence. “was jus’ wonderin’ who was occupying this space now. wanted to put a face to the name, y’know?” flashing a smile the older man’s way, arnon relaxed slightly and leaned against the doorway, loosely hooking one ankle over the other as he took in the sight of the office, making no attempt to venture further in. “pretty swanky set-up you’ve got here.”

"I don't recall submitting a rental for you, Mr. Ceanai," Sang-ho said coolly as he eyed the slave. His eyes narrowed ever so slightly and his nose crinkled. He remembered the halfling the last go around, back when Sang-ho had been a scribe. The young thing had a mouth on him begging to get slapped most of the time. Of course, Sang-ho didn't necessarily have any personal issues with Arnon given his neutrality on the circumstances of the world. He only cared about his own well-being. "Shouldn't you be down below in the Undercroft or outside in the garden?"

"It could always have been worse." Merek shot back with a small shrug, determined to not let Sang-ho irritate him. Though with how often the man did it, the pyromancer had a feeling that he wouldn't be able to do that for very long. "Oh, really? And I'm going to assume that you'll have no interest in sharing what that is."

"That is correct, Mr. Hopper." Sang-ho smiled brightly at the slave. "Well done in using that other head of yours. It's not an event anyone could pull off running. I suppose that's why the Council waited for me to take over your position so I could do it properly."

"A late Congratulations seem appropriate." If the change was recent enough for him to still accept it. It was interesting to learn more about how the castle was ran, and who did the work. His seemed particularly important, and likely viewed as above most others. "Mm, I liked to make art in moments when I wasn't doing much. Paintings, mostly, but also some music. Reaping offered me plenty of inspiration that needed a place to go."

"Thank you," Sang-ho hummed. "I can imagine you've produced quite a few interesting pieces. Perhaps we can see about getting you some art supplies down below. You strike me as well-adjusted enough."

They climbed the stairs and roamed down the hall to the game room. It sat next to the strip club so the music next door could be heard muffled even in here. A few residents sat in here playing card games with dealers. Not everyone seemed to be having a great time. Sang-ho's eyes flashed violet as a particular patron they passed won and scrabbled for all the chips on the table, much to the dismay of his fellow players. He settled at the bar and gestured for Warner to sit next to him. "What will you have to drink, Mr. Beck?"

Miles felt the familiar pull. Outside the castle that would have never worked. He was warded against it. Hard to kill a vampire when they could persuade you to stop and kill yourself. The vase was set down and his body moved to fulfill the command until he was standing in front of Sangho. Well Miles certainly found something he disliked more than the collar. The smirk pulled at a corner of his lips. "Trying hard to be my bestie aren't you? You've got my attention, Chief."

"And you've certainly got mine, Mr. Farrow." Sang-ho smiled right back at Miles, the expression likely unsettling as he stood up from his seat, hands folded neatly behind his back as he left little proximity between himself and the slave before him. One hand moved up and gripped Miles by the chin with thumb and forefinger, his own lips parting slightly as he stared at the younger's mouth. He could taste that sliver of greed energy right there on his breath that he pulled with an inhale. It wouldn't be enough to kill Miles, though he did take enough the younger would feel it. Damned collar; the castle let him feed to function but not as much as the greed demon wanted. "You should feel honored. Not many slaves catch my attention for a meal."

"You never know what can happen around here." Merek shrugged, trying to not let the usual annoyance he felt around Sang-ho show. It wasn't something that the pyromancer was used to feeling, something that only ever really seemed to happen around the other man. "Hm. You may disapprove of the way that I do things, darling, but it saved me from a lot of problems I could have experienced in the Undercroft. And ensured I wasn't in there terribly long." Merek was very aware of just how much time some of the slaves stayed down there until they were claimed by someone. He ignored the next comment, his gaze falling to the folder Sang-ho was carrying. "Busy planning something?"

"I wouldn't say that's something to be proud of, Mr. Hopper, given that you landed yourself down there to begin with," Sang-ho tsked. There was some logic to Merek's statement there but Sang-ho wasn't stupid enough to leave the castle and get himself captured by hunters to come back here in a different capacity. No, he knew how this game of the world worked. He was comfortable where he was. "I am. Council wants to try something new."

"Could've been, I don't really pay that much attention to the names of those ordering me about. Seemed sweet, though." He joked. Sighing, Nick leaned against the doorframe, looking around the office. "I take it you're of great importance around here. Office privileges. Does it come with a penguin outfit?"

Sounded like Lorenzo. Sang-ho sighed and shook his head, not a fan when things went wrong even if he wouldn't be blamed for the guard's actions. He'd deal with that later. He crinkled his nose at Nicholas, even less a fan of a celestial being in his territory. "Important enough. Chief of Staff. Do you always talk this much, Mr. Whitlock? Or do you know how to sit in silence?"

Warner kept pace with him following along to the guard then onward up the stairs. He hadn't spent much time out of the undercroft aside from the hour they got to spend outside. He wasn't sure what to make of the other just yet other than that he was formal. Something he hadn't expected to see as a slave yet it did not go unappreciated by him.

"It's been the same while since I've met another." Which was true, maybe it was due to his more anti-social leaning than there be a lack. "You're not a master, so you work in the castle, correct?"

"That's correct," Sang-ho confirmed with a nod. "I've been employed with the castle for a while now, only recently made Chief of Staff. My duties are basically ensuring that everything in the castle runs smoothly from day to day operations and hosting events the Council wishes to throw." They crossed into the courtyard between the old castle and new castle. "What did you do before your enslavement, Mr. Beck? Any other hobbies or employment beyond reaping?"

Nodding slightly as Sang-ho explained why it usually happened, Enzo did understand that, could get behind that completely.. but his eyes did go a little wide at the other's question. "Oh-- fuck, no. At least I don't think so. Everything I do around here is pretty innocuous," he answered, knowing that he hadn't, in fact, done anything wrong but still felt somewhat guilty anyway just from being asked the question. "I'm mostly just asking out of curiosity, just in case it can just.. happen, because that wouldn't be great, y'know? Self preservation and all that."

"Innocuous. My, isn't that a big word for you, Mr. De Luca-Reyes," Sang-ho stated in a sweet tone dripping with condescension. He could barely hide the bored expression his features shifted into. "Is that all you came here for then, to belatedly congratulate me and ask me a question you could've answered yourself through observation?"

Even in heat literal sex with Shade wasn't appealing to Cairo. The witch's head dropped as he fought the swirling discomfort like a creature growing inside him. "I am unfucking well." He grit out uncharacteristically bitingly annoyed he was put in this state again. "I want you to take care of it." Because he couldn't do much of anything as he was. Maybe he did make a mistake leaving the cambion out of the undercroft.

Sang-ho didn't flinch at Cairo's irritation. "Lucky me," he drawled through the painted, professional smile on his features. "And how would you like me to 'take care of it,' Mr. Gaudet-De Luca?" the fallen angel wondered as he stood from his chair and rounded his desk. He perched himself on the edge right beside the head of magical security, right within reach. He knew where this would be going. "Would you like me to perform a miracle and cure it or are you seeking relief for your symptoms?"

"Or is it this place is run so poorly there's a lot to complain about." He retorted switching hands to knock a couple things off on the other side even if they didn't hit the ground. The grin spread along Noel's lips widening into a smile as he climbed onto the desk and crawled to the man across from him gripping him by the tie and pulling him in close. "Is that how I earn a benefit, through sexual favor?"

Sang-ho's smile never faltered even as Noel crossed into his space. The items hovering in mid-air all set themselves gently on the ground, their soft landings heard in the pin-drop beat of silence of his mental debate.

This went against everything Sang-ho sought to establish for himself here in Krovs, but how could he refuse a pretty, greedy thing seeking his attention like this? After all, he worked in a place surrounded with sex –– why should he deprive himself of action just because he didn't go through heat himself?

"We can only find out, Dr. Gaudet." He slid his chair back thus freeing his tie from the younger's grip. He uncrossed his legs and opened up his dress pants. "Let's see how you do with your mouth first," he said, persuasion creeping into his voice in case Noel wanted to make a fuss. Of course he'd make the reaper work for it.

It took the witch a minute to understand what the hell was happening because it had been a few years since he'd been through it. The feeling was one he knew once it took hold. It wasn't supposed to be one he could or should have. It didn't take long to figure out what caused it. The issue was he couldn't dispel it.

The last place he wanted to be where was he had to go. The longer he waited to report it the less chance he would have of catching the right person and he had a very good idea of who did it to him. The knock was meant to be soft. It wasn't. It was hard and hurried.

Cairo wasn't the same put together man he had been on his first visit and his palms slammed on either side of the desk. He was breathing heavy like he'd sprinted all the way across the castle, when he'd only walked over to the other man's office from his own. Sweat poured off him and a desire to rail the other man on his desk made him swallow hard before he said the only thing he could when he looked at the man across from him.

"Dempsey..." He was the only one stupid enough and had more than enough reason. "Fucking Dempsey." He balled his hands into fists as a wave ran through him. He'd forgotten how hard it was to control the desires since he'd gotten the absolute joy of not having to worry about it anymore.

“Figuratively or literally?” Sang-ho responded, not missing a beat. Either one fit right for the cambion he knew couldn’t keep it in his pants. Couldn’t think with anything other than his dick. Sang-ho wasn’t a fan of the obnoxious creature he preferred avoiding much as he could.

He lifted his head from whatever he’d been jotting down and raised a brow at Cairo. His lips pursed together in a frown at the state of him. Ah. Now that made more sense. He neatly set his pen down on his desk and folded his hands together on the surface. “You look unwell, Mr. Gaudet-De Luca. How can I help you?”

Noel wasn't surprised to find Sangho in his office. He didn't knock when he entered not caring if someone was there or not. Despite not having access to any of his power he did go through all the aspects of heat. It did bring down the amount of property damage he could cause. He was, of course, on suppressants, but he was doubtful Sangho was aware. Approaching the Chief of staff's desk he stopped in front of it bending at the waste propping an elbow on it resting his chin in his hand as the other pushed the nearest unattached item off the desk for no other reason than he could.

"I find my office dissatisfying." He moved to push another item off the desk his eyes never leaving the fallen angels as he did so. "After so long, my loyalty earns me a promotion, no? Think of it like tenure."

“My, my, so many complaints you have for me, Dr. Gaudet,” Sang-ho hummed. “I’m seeing the family resemblance with your brother.” The items that fell stopped in mid-air without any signal from the fallen angel that he’d done anything despite catching them with telekinesis. A parlor trick, really, at his age. He mirrored Noel’s position, elbow propped on his desk and chin in hand while he smiled back at him. “Is that really why you came here or are you using your heat as an excuse to earn a benefit through sexual favors?”
