I finally made a strawpage 😛
The koppaite trio!
Top: in Donkey Kong Bananza, the font used for the UI and dialogue is called "Ad Lib". Interestingly, the choice of this specific typeface appears to be an extremely deep reference to the history of the series.
Middle: this typeface was used in the 1990s in various promotional material for Donkey Kong Country games, such as the big captions in the official Nintendo Power guide for Donkey Kong Country.
Bottom: in addition, it even made its way to material included with the games themselves, such as the Donkey Kong 64 manual.
If this is an intentional reference, it demonstrates the lengths to which the development team has gone to research the history of the series. If it is not intentional, it is a remarkable coincidence.

Top: the "Face Lift" minigame from Mario Party 2 consists of manipulating the faces of the six player characters in a manner directly inspired by the Super Mario 64 title screen, to match a given face in the middle.
Bottom: the models are only intended to be viewed from the front, and were designed with that in mind. While the models for the heads of the other five characters are relatively normal even from angles they were never supposed to be viewed from, Peach's head is highly distorted. Note the floating irises, particularly visible in the 45° view.

PIKMIN TRIO
And a bonus
I finished Funky last night but I was too tired to show him (I have been sick for a week now, I just want to get better ;-;).
I would share their full bodies but I somehow messed up the proportions… again (when I think I take a step forward with my art, I take two steps back fml /j). So, it’s looking like I’ll have to redraw Swanky completely but that’s not important atm (I’m so upset /j).
My favorite new aspect of Swanky’s design are his rings; the ones in the picture are references to Banjo-Kazooie (jiggy & note), the ones not shown are the DK bonus coin and a banana.
Oops, it’s all Swanky!
All I draw is Swanky. ;-; I promise that it’s not intentional but that would be unbelievable considering my whole blog revolves around him. *head in hands*
I’m just sharing what I have at the moment, and perhaps help myself get back into posting as before-
