the Chronicles of Terra's Grace | Clare_Hope - probably my favorite PHM fic I've read to date. it picks up several years after the end of the canon story with Grace fully established on Erid and living his best life with Rocky and Adrian and his students. when a ship full of humans arrives, Grace has to deal with his complex feelings about humanity and the trauma of his last days on Earth. it has so many wonderful OCs and great headcanons, and the author really nailed Grace's voice.

Prism the Eridian | 22FantasyLover22 - what if there was an adorable pebble who had been through a lot and Grace adopted them and became their mom? prism is adorable, and i really love Grace in this fic, especially how it handles his feelings about being a parent. also a very good depiction of autistic Grace :}

sedated (drag me away from this) | mockiery - an angsty exploration of Grace's amnesia and medical trauma. it hurts so good.

Rocky & Grace fics

Unconventional Social Group | Clare_Hope - one of my other favorite PHM fics. each chapter is a beautiful self-contained story about an event, focusing on grace & rocky. the chapter about funeral customs made me sob. it also has really well-researched depictions of touch starvation and grace's 1083048 vitamin deficiencies and disordered eating. Clare_Hope just writes Grace and Rocky so well.

I have very normal feelings about your Eridian Grace AU, I love it a normal amount and I would love to have some very normal conversations about it. I do not bite.

Here's some fanart and thoughts

The grammar accuracy is flipped because the comic is made from the Eridian perspective. Grace is still learning how to use the language properly. He gets his tones mixed up but he knows all the right words to use.

He knows how Rocky refers to him and Adrian together but he has yet to clarify what it means exactly. (I imagine the Eridian language has something fun going on with pronouns and names considering how much Rocky goes back and forth between saying "Rocky" and "I" in the movie. He clearly isn't saying his full name most of the time. Adrian's full name is probably 5 pet names weaved together)

Grace wants to make his own stuffed animals because he misses softness of things. Even if the feelings are a bit more dull, it's the mental comfort that matters. He tries to remember the colours of the fabrics and uses the "seeing" texture tech, but it's imperfect and without seeing colours he'll sometimes get them wrong. Not that he can tell.

It's supposed to be a fox.

Sewing is a good dexterity practice for him (I'm gifting him this hobby because I also made stuffed animals before)

Grace still feels himself make human expressions, inside his mind.

You just know that the “end of course” field-trip into Mr. Grace’s biodome is like, THE highlight of all highlights for the pebbles in his class. Grace always talks a big game about how scientifically rigorous the visit will be, but that pretense is abandoned like 5 minutes into any outing as pebbles race around the beach in their own little balls, shrieking with glee at the first approach of the waves. Rocky always scolds Grace for being a light touch with the biodome field trip but Grace can’t help it. When the beach is alive with laughter and motion, it’s the closest he feels to being back on Earth.

Rocky in the movie is 80 cm, Rocky in the book says that Eridians are 50 cm, on average.

Anyway, lets talk about how fucked, physically, up a human astronaut would be if left alone in space for 50 years. We don't even require gravity to eat like Eridians do!
