I am following the trend of redesigning the characters of the hazbin hotel, so I drew my own redesign for the exorcists.
It's just a sketch because I don't have the time, energy, or desire to draw a complete picture.
I decided to change their uniforms to a more militarized one. I rejected the idea of the chain mail, because they're angels, they fly on their fucking wings. Getting themself up in the air is already a task, there's no point in making it harder for them. (or whatever's peeking out from under their shirts?? on their neck? I would have thought it was feathers, but I doubt it because Veggie doesn't have any after the fall)
I also changed their masks. I've never understood why they have horns on their masks that refer to demons. So I replaced them with two wings on the sides of the head. they have no functional significance as such, they are purely symbolic.
Of course, I liked their faces on the mask, whether it was magic or digital technology, but wow. no.
So, their very expressive faces have been replaced with a completely non-expressive eye. the all-seeing eye. I like the idea that it's either gold or blue.
Is it about intimidation? I'm not sure if the word is right, but it's done precisely so that sinners, hellborn, and others can't read the emotions on the Exorcist's face. Like the executioners, this separates their personality from their work, turns the exorcist into a function, which he is at the purges. It's not personal, it's a duty and a job.
And yes, I added buckles to the mask because I never understood how they take It off/put it on.
I do not know if there are male exorcists, I have not seen any in the series, but here I reject the idea of gender for angels in principle. They are not women or men, they are angels, they are a being above biological beings.
