Exquisite Handmade Mandalas by Jay Mohler
Inspired by Huichol natives of Mexico and monks from Tibet, American artist Jay Mohler creates elaborate masterpieces of “God’s Eye” composed of about 15 colors of yarn that span up to 48 inches in diameter.
Mahler first began creating the intricately beautiful and vibrant medals since 1996, when the popularity of folk art and 1970’s American Southwest sensibility rose. Categorized as a spiritual symbol, Mohler says: “I create these for artistic satisfaction rather than as any sort of spiritual talisman.”
You can find the unique pieces in his Etsy shop as well as DIY kits.
