Meanwhile at the Reylos’ evil lair
i hate that one of us can write an entire essay about how being a PoC in a white-dominated fandom inherently makes it harder to enjoy, and then a white person will look at it and say “well im not racist so its fine. youre just being overrdramatic”. i hate that we feel the need to have to write essays in the first place. but some white people act like it would be easier to eat glass than to consider how they consume media and how it may affect PoC
And the sad part is that they truly believe they said something clever
This is why when white people ask poc to “explain” how something is racist, y’all stop getting offended and surprised when we tell y’all to look it up
There are thousands of essays and articles about different aspects of fandom racism you can easily look up on tumblr and pretty much any other site
A lot of us are tired of the harassment we’ve endured for pointing out fandom racism. And we are especially tired to put our hearts and frustrations into these essays only for some inconsiderate jerk to respond with a “well I think you are exaggerating, I’m not racist”
