Hi, I noticed your story has conflict in it, and I was wondering why you didn't just write people who are right doing everything correctly with a note saying "I enthusiastically co-sign everything in this story"? Must be some kind of mistake haha

i think fiction should be abolished. if yo uwrite about a character dying you should be put on trial in real life for murder
all fiction is unethical. why are you lying for fun
We should try George R R Martin at the hague
Fanfic is inherently problematic because it’s an incredibly efficient way to procrastinate studying for finals
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because characters will be eating right in front of you, and never give you any.
Something something if you’re going to eat then I hope you have enough to share with the class
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because it includes some words but not others.
And some words like “and”, “of” and “or” are included hundreds of times while others aren’t included at all! That’s just unfair.
I propose a solution. Each fanfic must include every word in the English language. And, it’s got to be fair, if you include one word twice, you’ve got to have them all twice.
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because it sometimes includes crimes.
This is normalizing criminal activity, and frankly, I think that crimes (like wearing socks with sandals, wearing jorts, etc) should not be taken lightly.
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because sometimes it includes straight people.
Yikes.
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because it creates worlds, but those worlds don’t have fanfiction in them. There’s not enough reference to fanfiction within fanfiction.
That’s just plain unrealistic, and frankly, creates unrealistic expectations. How will people know that fanfiction exists if it isn’t represented adequately in things like fanfiction?
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because typing a lot can cause carpal tunnel.
We need to stop pretending that fanfiction is okay, so that we can get justice for those poor authors’ wrists.
Bringing this back again.
It’s so sad and tragic when fanfiction writers get carpal tunnel.
Fortunately, I’ll never have that problem since I have super strong wrists. They’re probably the strongest wrists ever. I can’t actually get carpal tunnel, my doctors say I’m completely immune. I did get tendinitis but that’s beside the point, and I’ve still got extremely strong wrists.
Let’s have a moment of silence for all the fanfic authors with weaker wrists than me.
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because it breaks the laws of supply and demand.
You say that your character has a chair and is sitting on it. And with a word, it’s done, they have a chair.
But, the purchase of this fictional chair hasn’t had any effect on a fictional chair market, for all we know! You could write that your character has a thousand chairs and it would simply come into being!
Just like that, fanfiction authors have destroyed the market for fictional chairs. The supply chain will take years to recover, if it ever does.
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because it includes colours.
How can you just write about “blue”? What if my blue is different from someone else’s blue?
To avoid this issue, I propose that fanfiction should instead include ontological discussions on what “blue” even is.
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because I’m reading it people are reading it when I should be they should be studying.
Fanfiction is more entertaining than calculus and I believe that that is a pressing problem in some people’s lives. Not mine though.
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because it sometimes includes scary things like car-centric cities and private healthcare.
If it’s not explicitly a horror story, scary stuff like that shouldn’t be included. Come on, guys. Do better.
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because there isn’t enough cooking explicitly included.
Your poor blorbos are trapped inside the page and you didn’t even give them dinner? What about second breakfast? Elevensies? Not even afternoon tea?
Come on, guys. Do better.
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because it assumes that the people that are actively reading it understand the language that they are reading in.
Just like how, by writing this post in English, I’m assuming that the people who are reading this understand English. Yikes.
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because it’s sometimes about anime guys who’s hair defies the laws of physics.
That’s just plain wrong. Stop giving people unrealistic expectations of the power of hairspray.
Fanfiction is inherently problematic because no one ever writes about bugs.
The average animal is a bug, and so the average fanfiction should also be about bugs. But it’s not, and that’s just one of the many ways that fanfiction is bug-phobic.
