Swan Queen fanfiction: The Paperwork
Regina was at home, reading a good book she had bought several days ago. But with her tight schedule, she hadn't be able to read it until then. Being a mayor wasn't fun everyday. And she had Emma Swan to help her with Henry when she was too busy. Although Emma was busy as well, she helped. She had always helped Regina. Always. Since the beginning.
And honestly, Regina couldn't understand why. She had always been so horrible to her, and she hadn't even tried to become her friend. She instantly saw her as an ennemy in the race for Henry's heart. But now, now that she saw the bigger picture, she regretted not to have done anything to be nice to Emma in the first place.
Even when she hadn't known that Emma was Snow White’s daughter, she had had this automatic hate towards her. But she didn't even have a reason to do so. Maybe she had liked the challenge Emma represented. She liked their bickering and banter. It had become something normal in her life. She missed it, when she didn't see Emma to argue with her.
She closed her book, because obviously, she couldn't read it now, with all her thoughts all over the place. Then, she heard a knock on the door. Opening it, she found Emma in the doorway :
- Hi Regina !
This fool had a silly smile on her face. She showed her papers :
- I came here to tell you that the paperwork for the month is done !
- What ? How did you do that ? You didn't have the time !
- I didn't sleep. I'm kinda tired now though…But it's done ! LOOK, GINA, IT'S DONE !
Regina smiled : Emma was sleep deprived, that was why she behaved like an idiot. Oh, sorry. Like more of a idiot than usually. It was pretty endearing, in fact. She took the papers :
- You foolish Charming ! You have to rest now. Why don't you go home ?
- Too tired, Gina.
Regina signed exageredly. Then she said :
- I have a guest room, if you want to stay here…
- Yay ! A sleepover !
- No , Miss Swan. It's the middle of the day, and i wanted to read peacefully my book. Go and rest in my guest room. It's an order.
Emma entered the house and Regina closed the door, amused by what her life had become.
