UNHELD — Lina Poluna, 2026, Oil on canvas
My resolution last year was to do one thing before bed that would make my morning feel easier, and that’s become a daily habit that I’m carrying into this new year.
Some nights even filling up the kettle and setting an empty mug out for my morning tea felt hard. But I was always thankful for it in the morning.
Other nights, one thing would lead to another, and I’d wake up in a clean house with everything ready to go.
And, on a rare few nights, the one thing that I could do to make my morning easier was going straight to bed and allowing myself to rest.
What stayed the same each day is that I would take a moment to think of what I could do for my future self and do it, even after a hard day. And I would wake up knowing that I had done my best and any effort—no matter how small—was a kindness to myself.
I’ve been doing a lot of “a treat for future me” moments lately.
That’s a great way to look at it, and I love this artist! (Anna-Laura: instagram / website)
i've been out of touch with my witchcraft for a long time, but now i'm coming back to it by necessity. for a long time (but especially the last half-year) i've been dealing with multiple psychic vampires at my workplace: one in my immediate work group who is the most pressing, and then a few higher-ups who i don't interact with quite as much. i think this is why i've been feeling so, well, drained. i haven't been practicing my craft in part because i get home from work and have absolutely no energy to spare.
for now i'm going to need to place heavy focus on rebuilding my energy, shielding, and cutting off the spiritual ties these people have formed to me. i've never had to directly deal with people like this before so i'm a little out of my depth. i'm a very sensitive person and no matter what i do i can't help but ruminate on the negativity thrown at me. any tried & true methods or advice would be greatly appreciated!
I wear a hagstone at work to bounce all the nasty stuff, but a coworker of mine suggested scrubbing down with seasalt to get rid of negative or stuck energy!
Any sort of protective symbols or items such as religous symbols (if you are religous), or crystals can be worn under clothes and can be prayed over/charmed to 'program' it.
ahhh that's such a great idea!! i literally have a sea salt scrub in my shower i haven't used in a while which would be perfect!
as for protective symbols, i just remembered i had found a nazar bracelet not too long ago. i kept it but was hesitant to wear it, but based on my research it's considered good luck to find a nazar in the wild, like the universe is offering protection! will definitely be wearing it to work (after a thorough cleansing of course, lol)

talk about spells working in a way you didn't expect!
i cast a money bowl spell about a month and a half ago. i was just hoping for a bit of extra cash to go towards holiday presents/travel plans. well a day or two later i happened upon a finance audiobook on libby (financial feminist by tori dunlap, in case anyone was interested). not something that would have typically caught my attention, but something made me interested this time. i checked it out and read it, and it just clicked. my hyperfocus shifted towards bettering my financial literacy and i completely restructured my budget. my whole mindset about money is rewired and i'm now financially WAY better off than i was before the money bowl spell.
even though i've been a witch for years i'm fairly new to spellcasting, and i'm still not used to seeing the whole process play out from start to end. when i cast a money spell i assumed it would result in some quick cash, and instead it manifested as a significant improvement in my long-term financial wellbeing. idk man this shit is just blowing me away. i guess i have more power than i thought!
havent practiced my craft in a few weeks because i've been so focused on getting my finances under control. i have such a love-hate relationship with my whole adhd hyperfocus thing. sometimes i wish i could snap and instantly switch gears between subjects, instead of having to naturally fall in and out of hyperfixating on one thing (which often takes weeks!!!!!!!)
@faerytreealtars tagged me for @hagstoneandtoadsbone 's new pinterest tag game! this was so fun to make!!

i'll tag anyone else who wants to do it!
a reminder that you're not falling behind. not in your craft, not in your connection to your guides or gods, not in your spirituality.
you're allowed to have quiet seasons. you're allowed to be tired. you're allowed to be mundane, and magical, and both at once.
your magic doesn’t disappear just because you’re not lighting candles every night. you're still a witch, even when the most you can manage is a cup of tea and a deep breath.
you can take a break if you need - the gods are eternal. they'll still be here.
