There’s another side to the story
This is absolutely brilliant and needs to be spread, especially considering LGBT+ youth are the most at risk for homelessness.
John lay on his bed. Classes had ended just moments previous, and he finally made it back to his single dorm. His back was thrown askew, his shoes kicked onto the floor.
He undid his pants, pulling them off and tossing them onto the…
John couldn’t help but snort. “Oh, yeah, that’s totally where I got your number. It floated down from the heavens and bestowed upon me your cellular device number. And I had to have called it at this very moment.” He smiled to himself, laying back on the bed.
“Uh, classes, were pretty boring,” he said, shrugging, though Dave couldn’t see him. But then he realized that this was turning into another one of Dave’s weird jokes. “I could not think of anything else but your beautiful face and stuff. And like the thought of just like…your face and stuff.” He shorted again, just at his own stupidity. “How about you Mr Strider, how did your classes go?”
"Of course you could only think of me, I'm a fucking god. I wouldn't expect any less from a mortal." He chuckled and shook his head a bit. "But classes were slow, boring. Uneventful. Dull. Do you know any other synonyms for that?" He chuckled. "But you probably get the point. I need to get started on some homework.you know how that stuff goes...But I probably won't start it till tomorrow when it's due and probably get like half of it done...Eh, who gives a Shit. Not me. I'm pretty sure if I fail, I can still stay in the school."
The Horrors of ‘studying’.
Dave nods. “That’s cool. You see, if it were me, I wouldn’t give a Shit. But then again it’s an AP course…Actually maybe I would do the same.” He thought it over to himself. “Nah, I’d probably curse them out for Fucking it up. I worked hard for a test like that.” He huffed. “Good thing I only stick to honors, AP is too much.”
Dirk shrugged,“Sure but when I go to college my fives on all my AP tests will get me there faster then your Honors credit.” he said finding the keys and leaving the pump room. “But it’s English, it’ll be easy,” he said turning the corner right into a mole man. “God damnit!”
"Yeah but honors is easier dude. You don't want to overdo it. It's like you put a huge bundle of fish bait on your hook only to catch one small fish. Don't try too hard if you don't need to. That's what I say." He continued to stand behind Dirk, watching the screen. It's probably better to play this game when Dave was there with Dirk.
Hello?
John lay on his bed. Classes had ended just moments previous, and he finally made it back to his single dorm. His back was thrown askew, his shoes kicked onto the floor.
He undid his pants, pulling them off and tossing them onto the floor, glad to finally get them off. Who needs pants? He’s a responsible adult. Well, not really, but that’s not the point.
He reached into his pants pocket and pulled out his phone. A small slip of paper fluttered out. Hmm…
John picked up the paper and his phone. Should he just…call him? Or maybe text him. Who calls people anymore? Yeah but John did. Hmm…
Okay, let’s just do it. No reason to be nervous. It’s just a cool guy he met today. A cute…cool guy.
He dialed the number and put the phone to his ear. It rang. It rang. Oh man maybe he should’ve come up with a snappy opening line. Or maybe he should just say-
“Hello?”
Dave didn’t go to class. That was a lie, He totally did but that doesn’t mean he enjoyed it. His teachers were dickheads. Total buzzkils. Especially Mr.English; The guy who can barely talk English. He sounds like he’s speaking gibberish and there’s only a few faint words that you could understand from him. Just an overall bad teacher and he thinks Dave is a bad student.
Whatever, Dave could deal. The class had a Shit ton of hot guys though. And hot girls. This school is filled with attractive people. Maybe this is why he was truly invited to attend this school. Dave entered his dorm, seeing no Dirk in sight. Must be out with a new boyfriend or something. Dave shrugged and hopped into bed, kicking off his converse and putting his ear buds in to drown out the world. He was jamming to his own beats along with other various artists from various genres of music. He even thought of some new moves he’ll try out later.
His train of thought, Along with his music, stopped when he got a phone call. He looked at the screen, seeing it’s a new number. He raised a brow but answered, putting the phone up to his mouth. He kept his ear buds in just about ready to listen to music again if it’s a telemarketer.
“Yo sup. This is Dave Strider. ”
“Uh, hey. It’s john! From earlier today.” Smooth, real smooth. Okay he got this. He got this. He didn’t got this.
He felt like a teenage girl, sitting on his bed, twirling the cord of the phone around his finger. Except he wasn’t wearing pants. Not the point. The pants are never the point.
He glanced out the window. There were people outside, always people outside. There were a lot of good looking people here. He was surprised anyone ever looked at him and his baby face. Not that he really cared. He never cared what people thought of him.
“So uh, what’s up?”
Oh so it's the egdork he met earlier. Cool, time to talk it up about their classes. Maybe he could possibly learn a couple of things about the prospit dork. "Oh sup John. Great to know that you found my number. Tell me, Did an angel from above come down to give you that number? You see, Usually people get my number that way. Something about them being blessed to have it." He joked, letting out a small chuckle He had gotten up and began to idly walk around his room, picking things up and putting it down. "So how was your classes? You didn't think about me too much right? I know, It's a burden to have me on your mind 24/7. I'm not offended because you aren't the first and most definitely won't be the last"
The Horrors of ‘studying’.
Dave continued to chuckle. “Dude I’ll be fine. It’s just a little shock. You don’t have to rile up your panties even more than they already are.” He explained, taking off his shoes and tossing them by his closet. He got into bed, relaxing onto it.
“So what if you have to start over, your have to start over at some point any way. I just made you do it sooner.” He smirks.
Dirk glared at him but grabbed his plush off the floor before plopping back down to his computer,“It’s randomly generated. I can’t just figure out a pattern and follow it like I can in other games.” he said starting off again. “But seriously, I could stop your heart if I hit you hard enough. How do I explain to bro the matchstick died scaring me.” He said turning left and backing away from the mole man. “I mean it’s not like I couldn’t try to resuscitate you but I doubt it’d work.”
Dave leaned over Dirk, wrapping his arms around Dirk’s shoulders in a loose hug. “Dirky, I know you care but I’ll be fine. Trust me” He chuckled, wrapping his arms around a little bit tighter. “I know you’re in the zone right now but you wanna tell me how your day was or am I just going to sit here and wonder?”
Dirk found the generator room and grabbed the glowwstick,“It was fine. I have to retake the AP English three test from last year. My scores got lost in transit and some how they were deleted from the system.” He explained,“But they’re giving me the same test form and number. Just a new bubble sheet and essay.” He said finding the pump room. Grabbing the keys he headed out to find the exit.
Dave nods. "That's cool. You see, if it were me, I wouldn't give a Shit. But then again it's an AP course...Actually maybe I would do the same." He thought it over to himself. "Nah, I'd probably curse them out for Fucking it up. I worked hard for a test like that." He huffed. "Good thing I only stick to honors, AP is too much."

"Yo sup. This is Dave Strider. "
Dave Strider from an rp blog I’m in. The hair is a bonus.
Also on my personal blog and not on my art blog whaaat?
Hey look, now it’s on the art blog
The Horrors of ‘studying’.
Dave couldn’t help but chuckle when Dirk screamed like a kid. Even if Dirk shocked him, it was so worth it. He backed up a bit after the first shock, continuing to chuckle even as his twin punched the air in front of his face.
“Hey now, You should’ve known I was here. A Strider is always on their guard you know. What if it was a murderer who waltzed in? I mean, that would be stupid, considering he’s going up against two freaks. And not just regular freaks, Strider freaks. We’ll give him a can of butt whooping.”
Worth the shock? Ohh Dirk was about to give him a shock alright,”Do you know how badly I could have hurt you or worse my computer?” He said. Of course he’d feel worse about hurting Dave then the crusty laptop he’d bought at a garage sale and repaired himself.
“Plus I’ve died and have to start over.” He mumbled looking at the death screen as his corpse was dragged through the tunnels. “Because this is randomly generated with no save points.”
Dave continued to chuckle. "Dude I'll be fine. It's just a little shock. You don't have to rile up your panties even more than they already are." He explained, taking off his shoes and tossing them by his closet. He got into bed, relaxing onto it.
"So what if you have to start over, your have to start over at some point any way. I just made you do it sooner." He smirks.
The Horrors of ‘studying’.
Dirk hadn’t been studying for the past few hours. He’d gotten the game Vanish, and decided the best night to try and play was a friday night in his room alone. Dave had gone out and hadn’t come back yet, so if he screamed it couldn’t be held over his head.
He was crouched in his desk chair his body hunched forward, a bright orange blanket covering his head, his four inch tall rainbow dash plush tucked under his arm. When he turned the corner and the mole man appeared he squeaked but didn’t make any other noise.
He was supposed to be studying for a test, one he didn’t care if he passed or not, it was for English, but he’d forgone studying to buy the game from steam and try to beat it tonight.
Randomly generated games were some of Dirk’s favorite, if for no other reason then the fact that he couldn’t discover a pattern and dissect it. Games like amnesia were fun for jumpscares, but eventually he’d find a pattern and win the game. Randomly generated games were good for hours of endless play.
He turned the corner into the waterpump room, grabbing the glowsticks he set out for the generator room.
Dave hadn’t meant to burn the the kites. It just happened. For some odd reason, the other teens at the party thought it would be cool to bring kites and fly them out in the middle of the night. It was pretty fun till Dave got a hold of one and burned it on accident. Well actually not on accident, you wanted to see if it could continue to fly after it was set on fire.
It couldn’t.
He shrugged and wen home since everyone was scared of him after that. Whatever, He was exhausted anyway. So he went back to the school and to his dorm. He unlocked the door and closed it behind him. He looked around, noticing how dark it is. Is Dirk sleeping? He first thought till he saw the luminescent of the computer screen. He saw Dirk in front of the computer, playing a horror game.
Life is just handing him a Shit ton of rewards here, huh?
Dave walked over hands in pocket as he looked down at his twin. He smirks wide and placed his hands on Dirk’s shoulders. “Boo” He whispered.
Dirk hadn’t noticed his twin walked in. Nor would it have mattered if he had.
A pair of hands came down upon his shoulders causing Dirk to let loose a shriek and releasing a small surge of electricity that most likely shocked Dave.
Standing without a thought he turned fist raised in defensive a well placed right swing stopping inches from Dave’s face, small sparks coming of the bare knuckles. “Are you fucking insane! You know better then to do that!” he snapped. He dropped his fist and flicked on the light. “Don’t do that.”
Dave couldn't help but chuckle when Dirk screamed like a kid. Even if Dirk shocked him, it was so worth it. He backed up a bit after the first shock, continuing to chuckle even as his twin punched the air in front of his face.

Dave hopped out of bed one beautiful morning.
Except it was morning and it was not beautiful. He didn’t exactly get out of bed either. He groaned into his pillow as students flood back into their dorms, yelling and laughing loudly which disturbed Dave…
John laughed, rolling his eyes. “Okay, yeah, you’re definitely the coolest person I’ve met all day.” He scoffed. “I don’t want to gawk at your picture. I’m putting it up on snapchat. So people who don’t come here can see we’re not all total freaks. Well except you, you’re a freak, Mr Crocodile Sir.“
He let the other take the phone to angle the picture how he pleased. “I’m John. John Egbert. What about you? What shall I call you?”
He ruffled his hair, maybe trying to tame the mess a little bit. He’d always looked a little young, and the mess of hair, big blue eyes and big front teeth didn’t help. But he didn’t let it bother him. Sometimes he could even find ways to use it to his advantage.
Dave smirked as the other told him his name. John, huh? What a dorky ass name. But he couldn’t help but notice that it fits so Fucking well with the kid. He truly is adorable.
Dave smirks slightly. “I am a freak. In many things actually. Physically…mentally…in the club…here at school. Obviously.” He looked back at John. “But don’t call me freak, call me Dave Strider. You’re one way ticket to a great fucking time here in this hellhold. But back to that selfie..” He lifted his hand, it being bandaged up to his wrist with the fingers poking out. The skin looked brown and burnt, a great contrast from pale skin that’s at his fore arm and up. He snaked the hand that wasn’t holding the phone up, around John, giving the middle finger to the camera. “One, two, three, cheese.” As he said that, he stuck his tongue out which had a small piercing in the center of it. He quickly snapped a picture and handed the phone to the little deep.
John listened as Dave rambled on. It was like this guy never had enough things today. Like he had a steady supply of words and metaphors that didn’t quite make sense.
And then suddenly, they were taking the selfie. It was weird, this guy seemed to be moving fast, but in a weird way you could still keep up.
He stood close to get into the photo. Dave wrapped his arm around him, which pulled him even closer. He was surprisingly warm. Not like regular warm, but the sort of warmth that radiates from an open fire. That aside, Dave was counting down. He looked up at the camera, and laughed at what the other was doing. So he took the photo, Dave looking mighty cool, and John looking like a huge dork, as per usual. “Thanks for that Mr Cool Guy,” he said, taking his phone back. “I gotta go to class, but I totally want to hang out with you sometime.”
Dave released John and placed his hands in his pocket, looking back at John once more. He scoffed. “You make it sound like I won’t see you later on. If you ask for a selfie, that automatically means that I become your best friend and I get your first child. It’s in the rulebook dude. I thought you read it. I am ashamed that you didn’t read it. It’s like..In the library of other necessary things to read. Like how to flirt with a person and not sound like a total douchebag. Saddening that most guys haven’t read that one. They ruin it for all of us. It’s like the great depression but for guys. Instead of us losing money and jobs, we lose attractive and nice people.” He sniffed, ironically.
This boy could talk. Someone needs to stop him.
John stared at him, eyebrow raised. He wondered how crammed his head was with words. Maybe there were so many words, that in order to empty them, whenever he opened his mouth, he had to go on and on about nonsense.
But John didn’t mind. It was kinda funny to listened to actually. “Damn I meant to pick the rule book up this morning before class. Look, we can be besties and shit, but if you get me knocked up, I’m suing your ass. I know I can do that because I read the pregnancy for dudes manual.”
Dave chuckled. "Glad you are the least bit prepared my good friend. But as much as I want that ass, I'm not about to get you pregnant. I have restraint you know." Dave smirked, giving John a pat on the butt before turning to walk to class. "Call me some time Egderp." He called, not even looking back at John.
The smooth motherfucker dropped a paper with his number into John's pocket.
Dave hopped out of bed one beautiful morning.

Time for Class
Dave hopped out of bed one beautiful morning.
Except it was morning and it was not beautiful. He didn’t exactly get out of bed either. He groaned into his pillow as students flood back into their dorms, yelling and laughing loudly which disturbed Dave from his slumber. Whatever, He thought and sat up. He grabbed his shades and put on some clothes. It wasn’t much, just a kigurumi that his oldest brother made for him. It was super comfortable and it wad of an red crocodile with an orange belly.
Dave strode out of his empty dorm, since his roommate, aka Dirk, was out of the dorm already. Dave walked down the halls, hood up a He yawned. He hates being woken up from his sleep but he guess he should go to class. Or figure out where his classes are. He got the gist of where everything is, especially where the prospect dorms are since a lot of cuties went to that side. But the prospect dorms on the other side of the campus.
Dave began heading to the other side of the campus, ignoring all the weird looks he gets. Who Fucking cares if someone hates his kigu, he’s awesome as shit.
John knew he had to expect some weird things when he came here. Everyone had some sort of mutation, and he knew that he may encounter some weird things. He himself was pretty weird.
But what he didn’t expect was a blonde in shades wearing a red crocodile suit.
And he was not judging. Like, at all. He thought it was pretty much the coolest thing ever. So, he did watch any insane person would do; he jogged over to the guy and pulled out his phone.
“Dude take a selfie with me!” He said, opening up snapchat. He thought he’d make a snap story about his times at SAU. “You’re, like, the coolest person I’ve seen all day.”
Well, Dave surely was surprised when a twelve year old walked up to him. Okay, he isn't twelve but his face looks really young that he could be. Hell, he could be nine! In other words, he was adorable.
Dave chuckled as the guy asked for a selfie. "Dude if you wanted a picture to gawk at And swoon over, you could've just said so. I'll give you all the best poses. Fashion models can't even handle me. Call Tara banks up in this bitch, she needs to say who the next top model is. And that, my friend, is me." He rants, giving a small smirk.
"But sure I'll take a selfie with you. Only when you tell me your name though." He grinned, grabbing a hold of the other's phone.
