Wanted to show off another recent new story premise of mine outside of âWhen The Merry Go Round Broke Downâ
It's called The Tri-Princeâs Of Baloria
Triplet princes Simon, Alec, and Lev, who are sons of a once wicked enchantress and a steadfast king.
During their birth on a rare triple moon alignment, each of them absorbed a different thread of their mothers fractured magic-
Simon came out first and has never let his brothers forget it. Heâs sunny, loud, and absolutely convinced heâs one practice session away from mastering whatever spell he just catastrophically botched. His magic leans toward elemental burst â fire, wind, sudden dramatic lightning â which sounds impressive until you realize he has almost no control over the size or direction of any of it.
He once tried to conjure a warm breeze at a royal banquet and blew the entire dessert table out a window. Gurble still brings it up.
His father sees a lot of himself in Simonâs boldness. His mother sees someone who could level a city block by accident. Both are right, and both love him enormously.
Alec is the middle-born and the most dangerous person in any room â largely because no one realizes it until something has already gone sideways. He has his motherâs stillness, her calculating patience, and her particular gift for illusion and persuasion magic. He could convince a cat it was a fish if he felt like it.
He doesnât talk much. He watches. He files things away. When his brothers argue, he waits until theyâve tired themselves out and then says one perfectly placed sentence that settles everything â usually in a way that benefits him subtly.
He adores his brothers completely. He simply expresses it through quiet scheming on their behalf rather than hugs.
Evrisa watches Alec with a knowing smile. She recognizes the architecture of his mind because she built her own empire with it. She just makes sure to check his bedroom for unauthorized spell books on a weekly basis.
Lev came last and took his time about it, which is still very on-brand for him. Heâs warm, a little dreamy, deeply empathetic, and his magic reflects it â he has a gift for nature and creature magic, an ability to coax things into growing, calming, or listening. Birds land on him uninvited. Plants in his room are suspiciously enormous.
The problem is that Levâs magic responds to his emotions rather than his intentions. When heâs happy, the garden blooms. When heâs sad, it rains indoors. Last winter he cried at a story Gurble told him and the entire east wing got a light dusting of snow.
He is the first one to apologize after any argument and the first one to suggest they all get something to eat and talk it over.
