Cars and the things TRC did to my mind.

Yesterday on my way to work there was a white Evo with a shitty black aftermarket spoiler on the back.  I had a burning desire to fire a rocket launcher at it.  

Then I got to work and there was a Lamborghini in the parking lot, also white... the person it belonged too was so much like Ronan described middle-aged ( ok not one to laugh much, I am middleagedish and I do not even drive)  sports car drivers in his “ looking for a race “ descriptions I almost laughed.

Today as I was leaving work there was what could only be described as a “sharknosed” 2door BMW in dark grey in the lot right by the doors.  I have already been haunted by TRC all weekend thanks to the timeline posts and some mild discourse crap going on. .  I am starting to think I am being pulled into my fantasybooklife

saw a post glorifying country music saying people had to like it once you heard this song.. sadly most of them have probably only ever heard the atrocious country cover that makes fans of the ORIGINAL ROCK song by CANADIAN Tom Cochrane cringe.  This is almost national anthem material here ( especially for those of us who were bar age in the 90′s)

okay but if declan is two(?) years older than ronan, that makes him five years older than matthew. how are they at aglionby at the same time?? isn’t high school only four years. america explain. 

also, like. did matthew just live at the dorms with matthew after they were banned from the barns?? wee 12/13 year old matthew? does someone have a timeline….

okay so in the books it says, “The fall after Ronan and Gansey had become friends, the summer before Adam, they’d spent half their free time hunting for Glendower and the other half hauling junk out of the second floor.”

so gansey and ronan became friends in/after freshman year. starting fall in their 2nd year at aglionby, they spent months restoring monmouth and looking for glendower, just ronan and gansey. 

then the third week of june of their sophomore year, niall was killed.

so they either met adam starting their junior year, or at the beginning of sophomore year. (at one point during the series, adam says “If you’re trying to convince me that I don’t need Aglionby after I have killed myself over it for a year, you’re wasting your breath.” which sounds to me like it’s the beginning of junior year.

so that summer after sophomore year, niall died, ronan moved into monmouth, and in fall, they met adam. and then, a couple months later, they meet blue.

but then ronan can’t have been 15 when niall died. he would have been 16, since his birthday is in october and niall died in june of his sophomore year (and he turns 18 in the fall during trk). 

but im probably super wrong about all of this.

edit: OR ronan and gansey became friends before aglionby/aglionby is a middle school as well. that would mean massive continuity errors re: adam at aglionby though, since he apparently has attended the school for only his junior year, not freshman or sophomore year. but if he /did/ attend sophomore year, then he had literally zero friends the whole time. but then what about his “one year” comment.

I am really glad to know I am not the only one who was annoyed by this or seemingly spends an inordinate amount of time thinking about it.  Every time i re-read the series i take more notes on timeline and time passage trying to get i right in my head and I just can’t fully wrap my head around it

ok one more point to totally confuse us all.  Adam would have gone to the local public school his freshman year seeing as the books have him starting Aglionby in Sophomore year, being a conglomeration of small towns in the area that would 99% have been Mountainview.  How did he not know who Blue was?

So I did a thing

After many, many, many years reading online and having multiple headcanons screaming at me for months if not years, I finally broke down and whipped one off tonight.  None of the ones that have been haunting me for months though. And I posted it without editing because I just needed to get it TF out there.
