Initially she would probably be concerned for Cosette - after all Tholomyés seemed lovely and charming but then he left her alone, heartbroken and pregnant.

She would probably take on the role of a protective father and intensely quiz Marius for a while and watch his every move around her daughter. However as she got to know him she would see that he was a genuinely sweet - if a little bit odd- boy who loved her daughter for more then her physical beauty.

She would begin to trust him, and then she would begin to love him like he was her own son and give him and Cosette her blessing…

Then she would cry at the wedding...ALOT :)

Fantine would probably ship Les Amis with whomever made them happiest. Although she would secretly ship Enjolras and Grantaire, just because she knows how happy it would make Grantaire. Also the way he always looks at him would just break her heart.

She would also not so secretly ship Eponine with Combeferre. She could see that he would lavish her with the kindness and attention she craves and deserves whilst she would be able to bring him out of his shell and help him enjoy life outside of books and revolution - she would be constantly hinting at getting them hooked up to Cosette since she is closer to both of them and Fantine would be unsure how to motivate them to just get together already!

And of course she would adore seeing Marius with Cosette...Their love would make her so happy... In shipping terms they are her otp :D

Fantine would not have a close relationship with Grantaire but she would try to look out for him - as she would all the barricade boys - but she would take extra care to watch over him. She would often cover him with a blanket when he passed out, leaving him in the recovery possition so he wouldn't harm himself or choke. She would also leave a large glass of water by his side with something to eat to try and help his hangover.

She would want to help with his drinking problem but would worry that she was overstepping her boundaries - seeing as she was simply the mother of one of his friends.

She wouldn't be disgusted with him, for she could never be truely be disgusted by such a lonely and miserable soul although she would not enjoy being around such a strong smell of alcohol. She would sympathize with him and would one day take him aside and say that any time he needed somebody to talk to she would be more then willing to listen and to help him in any way she could.

Writers block, combined with exam time means I haven't had much time to update this...but thank you for everyone for not unfollowing me.

Fantine would have to prevent Enjolras putting the red flag in the white wash.

“Enjolras dear, I know you want it cleaning but if you put it in with the shirts they’ll turn pink!”

She would then have to stop herself from saying “I told you so” when said shirts indeed came out pink.

Since all his previously-white shirts are now pink, he has no other choice but to wear one to the next rally.  Needless to say, he is not happy about it.

Summary: After a chance encounter or Christmas Eve Eponine is in need of assistance and seeks solace in Courfeyrac, the rest of the plot basically follows their relationship and how it changes.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Les Mis, as would be expected with a fic with Eponine as a lead character there is some stuff about abuse. Some swearing and some sex but nothing graphic.
