greetings denizens of Tumblr my name is Flux! (or Faraday if you prefer hehe) i use she/it/they/he pronouns, as well as flux/fluxself pronouns! (can you tell i really like the word flux...) i'm constantly a bit all over the place so don't expect consistent uploads here but i hope you like what i have to show!!!

Tungsten Dodecahedron was born with a very rare condition: its carapace contained lots of metals that formed an amalgam with its mercury blood, making it extremely brittle—any hard bumping could potentially break it, and those who suffered from this illness almost never survived until adulthood. After a bit of discussion with the doctor, its parents agreed to let it be the world's first live recipient of full carapace replacement surgery.

The new carapace would be made largely of elemental tungsten, as it does not form amalgams with mercury (it hardly reacts with anything at all, really), it is not ferromagnetic (though there is a special magnetic pouch inside for direction sensing), and it is extremely tough. The operation was a success! Tungsten Dodecahedron is now 74 years old and thriving.
