Nobody Home

After a request

for my services, I made

my way to the far

side of town in my new car.

The night was windy

and gloomy. The rain poured down

like it wouldn't end.

Car lights seemed to blind me from

every angle.

Finally, I arrived at

my destination.

Spectres haunted my psyche,

as I glimpsed some dead

roses strewn across the road.

The moon above was

a sickly yellow colour.

Tentatively,

I approached the residence.

I knocked on the door

of that strange house in that dark

avenue. A dog

like Cerebus barked at me

from the inside, but

nobody else was home. I

felt very afraid

and speedily walked away.

I felt that something

was out of joint; out of joint.

I couldn't quite put

my finger on it, but it

chilled me to the bone.

Depression
