“I’m wearing Italian custom pony hair pants by Rubinacci, a ripped Hanes tank top, a Harley Davidson leather jacket, Vans shoes, a vintage hat from Madame Matovu, and vintage sunglasses from Hollywood and Vine. My style is is inspired by Harlem, I see people sitting outside of my brownstone going to church uptown and I’m always blown away by how impeccable they look. Black people who are effortlessly stylish. Style is feeling comfortable in clothes that fit your own unique body type, as opposed to buying expensive brands just because of the name. Personally, I have more luck at Goodwill finding clothes from brands and people who understand quality craftsmanship than I do at Zara or Topshop.”

I like to have accessories that are a bit funky to add to a more basic outfit. I follow Japanese street style blogs and also like a lot of UK fashion youtubers. I also gravitate towards imagery from cartoons and fantasy or sci-fi.”

“I’m wearing a vintage Pierre Cardin scarf as a head wrap. A Rumble Red leather jacket over a vintage silk kimono that I found at Le Grand Strip. I switched out the silk sash belt it came with and used a Paul Smith orange rope belt. Underneath it all, is an Ajaie Alaie white tier dress and Saint Laurent fringe boots. I tend to look for high quality fabrics and pieces that are well made that fit into the blue collar environment I work in. I also love romantic and feminine statement pieces. I find inspiration in the Japanese aesthetic, the marriage of elegance and function is perfectly balanced. Style Is the purest form of self expression. It can be both uniformity and rebellion. It transcends race and nationality. It’s freedom.“
