trying to be normal about the next bridgerton season but fran is going to go from not understanding the concept of sexual desire to being desperate to have michaela. fran is going to go from thinking shes inadequate and different to understanding there is nothing wrong with her. fran is going to go from being disappointed in her first kiss to feeling the world shift on its axis after her second first kiss.

the main reason why i think fran is a lesbian is the whole pinnacle storyline but specifically how it revolves around her not understanding sexual attraction and desire. her relationship with john is beautiful, he understands her like no other, on paper its the perfect match, and yet smth is missing. to fran sexual intercourse is a means to an end, she doesn’t necessarily despise it but she also doesn’t seek it. when penelope tells her “ofc you understand (the desire), you and john are newly weds after all” she genuinely doesn’t. so she tries to replicate her siblings’ relationships by fabricating moments of passion with john, and she still doesn’t really get it. she then starts actively seeking ways to reach her pinnacle, bc if nothing else she wants to at least give kids to john, but also bc that pinnacle carries the irrefutable evidence that nothing is wrong with her. and everytime she fails she feels less and less in control “im desperately trying to be a good wife all the while feeling constantly inadequate like there is something wrong with me”. shes desperate to understand it and she keeps trying and failing, but then michaela shows up and she inadvertently feels everything, shes not even aware of it, but she’s still feeling it and for an instant she gets it.

Michaela being a woman actually elevates the show for me. I could not bear losing the perfect husband John we have spent the last two seasons with, and then having to settle with yet another emotionally stunted male rake. Michaela though? That's interesting! It's something we haven't seen before! Composed Francesca losing her mind over this woman and having her entire world view crushed on top of the grief they are both experiencing?
