About poly dottore reader and lone... what if reader feels very guilty and bad because they like pantalone as more than friends but obv also its like betraying dottore so... the angst...
(x) Your relationship with Pantalone wasn't something you particularly lingered on. Not in the sense that you didn't care about him - of course you did - but you never bothered to pause and think whether you were starting to blur the boundaries of what a dear friend should and should not be. Perhaps you were swept up in the way he clicked with both you and Dottore, or maybe you were just happy to have a friend, and you just never cared to realize how oddly close you were to the banker.
--
Being around Pantalone meant that you were willingly offering yourself to be teased at any moment. After all, the Harbinger was excellent at confusing people, and if he was fond of you, it meant that he would love to playfully mess with you as a sign of his affection. And yet, despite his words that would leave your face warm or pouting or embarrassingly defending yourself as he remained poised with an irritatingly calm smile, you greatly looked forward to when he would give you such attention.
"But I like when you tease me, Feofan." Your confession was, in your eyes, innocent enough, in response to your friend's light-hearted threat. However, your words were enough for Pantalone to stop writing and look at you.
"... Careful now, dear." His normally closed eyes, now opened, darkened into something you couldn't read. "I do not believe you know what you're asking for."
"Hm? But I'm just saying the truth..."
--
"Are you sure I should be here?" The longer your friendship with Regrator went on, the more you found yourself accompanying him on outings and such. And this time, for some reason, you were currently seated at a restaurant for dinner with him. "This feels... really fancy." Your meals with Dottore tended to be a lot simpler than all of this, in the comfort of the lab, and not to mention the amount of dishes and prices on the menu was making your head spin.
"Is it not to your liking? I'll keep it in mind for next time." The frown that appeared on Pantalone's face immediately had you awkwardly scrambling to reassure him. That didn't acknowledge his desire for a next time either. It also didn't account for the fact that a simple friend was taking you out for an evening like this.
"No, no, I like it. It's just, uh... new! Anyway," you cleared your throat and attempted to change the subject, "Isn't it... really empty tonight?" You had noticed from the beginning that the establishment was oddly quiet, save for the staff.
"Ah, right. I figured you might feel more comfortable if it was just the two of us, as it usually is," Pantalone said casually as he sipped on his drink, and it took you a moment to process what he was implying.
Oh. Now that you think about it, that certainly felt like a Pantalone thing to do. Well. Your friend certainly knew how to make your face heat up.
--
Dottore was such a busy man. You had long accepted that, and really, you were more than able to keep yourself occupied. Some of the time, at least. But when Dottore could not listen to you, you found that Pantalone was willing to lend you his ear, his shoulder, his words, perhaps even more.
"Feofan..." Your head rested on Pantalone's lap, his hand stroking you. "Thank you for always listening to me." You could not understand why, but telling your troubles to the banker seemed to make you feel a lot better, similarly to when you'd talk to Dottore.
"It would be awfully inconsiderate of me to not hear out my dear friend's worries." He smiled, and sometimes the coolness of his rings would catch on your cheek.
--
Your head was in your hands as you recounted the memories of your newly found crush. You did not know how you could be so dense about your own feelings when you were the one who had to pursue Zandik back in the Akademiya. Or maybe deep down you always knew, but could not deal with the heartache of accepting them.
"Ugh... Zandik..." What kind of person were you, swearing to wholeheartedly love the scholar above all else, and then falling for his close friend, of all people? You couldn't even bear to think about that right now. But what should you do? Hope for your feelings for the Ninth to fade away?
Well, it looks like poor Pantalone will have to deal with you avoiding him for a bit.
Attempting to write my yearly Dottore + Reader birthday fic, open to ideas. Currently have the idea of the segments making a surprise party for you, so if i get nothing that's what we're rolling with...
someone said if you base off dottore's playability with durin's, (basically from his simulanka counterpart) it should put everyone's mind at ease
honestly, i read a reddit thread about it and yk what, i wont be too mad if they went with it bc it kinda fits, although may be repetitive because we have durin for that already
here's the thread if you havent seen it; https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Lore/comments/1qqhcmx/a_personal_take_on_the_cn_narration_footnotes
idk this is just super mega coping for me at this point. i really dont want them to mellow down his character, im so close to giving in the doomposting LMFAOOO

AHH YES I AM AWARE OF THIS! IT'S DEFINITELY REALLY GOOD AND INTERESTING! It makes me wish i paid more attention while i played this event. i mean, funnily enough, i was telling my friend the other day that i'm positive that Dottore is coming back and will be revived in some way, with all of the symbolism and signs, but whether the execution/story telling will be good or not is questionable, after that 6.6 mess 😅 But i'm still not really worried about him like other people are, i'm sure it'll all be fine at the end of the day and there's no point worrying about something so far into the future! HAVE TRUST IN DOTTORE KAI!!!!
18 being the protective older brother to himself!! As in like family he wishes he had!!!
And the whole idea of that? That 18 is annoyed by 8(something something he blames 8s childishness for the suffering it caused them) but still wouldn’t let anyone harm him? Because even if “Zandik” was born a heretic and a monster, it’s still incredibly unfair to either of them. How could the world hate him before he gave it a reason to?? Actually all the segments being protective of each other in a weird way that only “I” get to slightly disrespect him??
AHHHHH YESSS I SAW THIS ONE!! i just want to hug them both 🥺🥺🥺 wkdhwudew it really makes me wonder what each segment were doing when they got deleted 🥺 i think that although 18 is the harshest on/detests his child self the most, deep down he's somewhat aware of the reason of his jealousy and what 8 has that he can't have anymore... so i do think he'd feel something if he saw others hurt him for that... and then for the others, it's a shame they probably won't expand on them too much after, it's obvious that they were all fragmented but i think it'd be interesting if some got along better than others, but then 35 is the only one who can't fit in among his own self,,,
i remember when it was 2022 and 2023 and 2024 i always read ur fics... THAT ONE LONG FIC WITH DOTTORE OH MY GOD WHEN THEY DIED AND WITH NAHIDA TELLING THEIR FAIRYTALE STORY I REMEMBER I CRIED SO BAD FOR A FIC I WAS NOT GOOD........... UR AU REALLY WAS BETTER THAN CANON
it was so good😭😭 i still remember it so well... LIKE IT WAS SO💔🥹
the beauty of a character not being revealed too much is ig you can have more room for writing fics and i think compared to now dottore was much differently oerceived in 2024...
AHHHHH IT MAKES ME SO EMOTIONAL KNOWING THERE'S STILL PEOPLE FROM ALL THOSE YEARS AGO HERE ILY ANON 😭🥺🥺🥺 AND THANK YOU ANON DHEUWDHWU IM GLAD YOU LIKE MY WRITING SM AND STILL APPRECIATING FABULAM IN BIG 2026 😭 looking back, there are a few things I'd change since I characterize him different than how I felt all those years ago, but instead of editing it, i just leave it the same for memories 😅 but yes, i'm part of that group too, naturally we barely had anything on him for so long so it was hard to understand him properly, but now we have a lot more which, still isn't too much compared to others, but i'm happy he's getting development, and i can't wait for his full lore ❤️
Haven't been around Tumblr that much due to how hellish school has been ;( but ur works always make me feel great. I finally got diagnosed last month, after feeling that something was wrong with me since I was young. I've always felt a connection with ur fragile! reader series, and in a way, it has become a comfort zone for me. Literally fighting through hell and back everyday. But ey, if it's anything about Dottore lovers, you know they ain't backing down in getting what they want❗❗❗So thank u so much for existing, and making these dottore fanfics exist🥺💕
AHHHH thank you so much anon!!! I am glad you got a diagnosis and I am proud of you for going on everyday!! 🫂🫂🫂 I am very happy that my writing was able to comfort you, of course DOTTORE LOVES YOU TOO!! 🥺🫶🫶🫶
am i the only one whos genuinely shocked at how dottore's name is pronounced??? all these years, its not zandik, its zanDIK. like what the fuck . i can't wrap my head around it
I MEAN I THINK YOU ARE...??? I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'VE BEEN THINKING BUT I'VE BEEN SAYING ZAN-DEEK FOR A LONG TIME SO NO I WASN'T SHOOK??? BEJWDHEUW if anything, i was more surprised Sandrone is with three syllables instead of two 😭
imagine dottore reader and pantalone having tea parties and sleepovers with each other too 🥹 reader asking yearner lone to join them and of course he agrees…
Tea parties and sleepovers were not something exclusive to a few certain Harbingers. They were something to be enjoyed by everyone, even people who wouldn't seem to care about such a thing. That meant you convinced your dear Dottore and Pantalone to arrange and attend the cozy event, although it was the latter who did most of the work this time. Pantalone's residence was probably the ideal place for the gathering to be; after all, it was hard to resist his attention to having the most delicious and prettiest spread of varied sweets and tea, and of course, his grand and luxurious bed that he didn't seem to mind you resting on.
"See? I told you we should all do this more often." You were all dressed in comfy nightwear, considerably more relaxed than how you all would appear during the day. You were seated at the edge of Pantalone's bed, with a sizeable table in front of you with snacks and tea, while the other two men occupied their own armchairs. "It's... enriching!"
"I do find this sort of thing enjoyable," Pantalone agreed with a smile. "It is nice to unwind every now and then." It wasn't like he'd usually reject being in either of your presences, especially not you, when you came up to him so sweetly with pleading eyes.
"Hm, yes, it isn't bad." Dottore stabbed into his cake with his fork, almost finished already. To be honest, he still preferred your homemade baklava, but this was excellent as well. "And it keeps you from that foul habit of yours. Most effective." The banter between the three of you was normal and provided a sense of comfort. And that was why, in private, you all acted in ways that no one else would ever see.
You had flung a pillow, which smacked Dottore right in the face, leaving Pantalone crinkling his eyes in amusement, after he attempted to tell an embarrassing story of you from the Akademiya to the banker.
"Oh my," Pantalone chuckled as you puffed out your chest triumphantly. You were the only person who could do something like that to Dottore and live, after all. "Dottore, it seems you've touched a-" Before the Ninth could finish his sentence, the pillow whizzed by once more, accompanied by your loud gasp and ducking. He blinked in surprise before returning to his normal, composed self, this time not reacting when Dottore threw a nearby cushion at you.
"Dottore, if you break anything, you'll be the one paying for it." Pantalone calmly sipped his tea in amusement, while you squealed in the background as the cushion narrowly missed you. Being with you was always fine entertainment. How could Pantalone ever guess he'd see his dear friend engage in such a childish activity? There were sides in both of them that only you could bring out and could get them to open up.
"You don't need to worry about that." Dottore armed himself with another pillow. "You should know how precise and steady my hands are, Pantalone."
"Maybe not that good since you've missed twice," you quipped back playfully, darting around, as Dottore scoffed. And before he could launch another attack, you already knew the perfect plan to protect yourself. Of course, the obvious answer was to cling to Pantalone. Why? Even Dottore would not risk aiming a pillow in Pantalone's direction, unless he was willing to take the chance of a dip in his funds.
"It seems that our dear [Name] has outdone you in every part of the fight, Dottore." Pantalone easily caught on to what you were doing as you giggled at his words, and he certainly wouldn't complain at your close proximity. You inched closer, your arms draped around his neck, hands brushing against his chest, and your face was just close enough for him to feel the edges of his hair tickling you.
You had never particularly questioned the banker's choice of pet names for you, not when they somehow sounded so natural. And you had never felt a need to address his more recent use of 'our' either, perhaps because you didn't have a problem with it. You... liked it, no, you loved it.
"You can't stay by him forever," Dottore clicked his tongue as he sat down again, but kept a spare pillow dangerously close, ready to strike at the right moment.
"Oh, really? Who says I can't?" You pulled away from Pantalone only to move over and sit down on the armrest of his chair. "I can sit here the whole night easily," you proclaimed, but admittedly, it wasn't all that comfortable.
"No, you'll shift around for ten minutes or so in discomfort before you give in and return to the bed." The sharp teeth revealed by his smile made you pout, because you knew he was right. But then Pantalone put his teacup down and gave you an even bigger smile.
"Well now, no need to fret, my dear. There's another seat that provides you both comfort and protection from Dottore's cruelty." You both ignored Dottore's 'hmph' in the background. "Right here." Pantalone patted his thigh, apparently offering you his lap, which made warmth spread across your body.
"O-Oh! Well... Okay." You struggled for words. Of course, no matter how fond you were of the Harbinger, it was such a bold request from him. However, your initial shyness did not stop you from climbing into Pantalone's lap and tentatively resting your cheek against his big, soft chest, and his ring-covered hands immediately came to support you.
"Hmm... this is a cozy and safe seat," you agreed with a smile, especially since seeing Dottore's expression from the corner of your eye was far too amusing.
"... Enjoy your fun and games while it lasts." The scholar's arms and legs were crossed; perhaps he was even sulking that he wasn't being included in the cuddle, making you and Pantalone laugh.
This might be dumb but could you imagine reader going out into the snezhnaya winter in dottores big white coat and lying in the fluffy snow? I think it’s cute to imagine him scolding you for doing something silly like that while also being confused why you would enjoy the cold and gloomy weather so much since he grew up in sumeru with the hot desert and rainforests 🥹💕
Kresnik's Torch might keep most of Snezhnaya warm, but with Dottore's residence being a distance away from any of the capitals, its heat did not reach there as effectively. So that meant he was extra fierce when it came to bundling you up properly. He still remembers pitifully adjusting to the nation's temperatures when he was fresh out of the Akademiya, and he'd rather not have you sniffling and sneezing by the end of an outing. However, when it's just the two of you, you opt for stealing one of his coats instead of wearing your own, and Dottore couldn't bring himself to stop you, not when such a sight is for his eyes only.
Naturally, the scholar specifically had a path shoveled and cleared out so you could walk safely. However, that did not mean you'd always stick to the outlined area he selected for you, because you'd always find a moment to plop down in the deep snow to the side.
"You're going to-" Dottore stood above you, looking down, unimpressed, before you let out a huff.
"Get chills? Catch a cold?" You mimicked his voice as he rumbled in disapproval. "You know that has rarely ever happened, yet. You put me in so many comfy layers that the cold is hardly bothering me. You should just come join me already!" You spread your arms and legs out, a bit difficult due to how heavy Snezhnaya's snowfall was, and patted to the side of you.
Dottore leaned over you, his body blocking your view of the sky as he examined you, but you only gave him a smile. The Harbinger pulled away, perhaps contemplating with a small sigh, knowing he couldn't just up and drag you away now, not that now you've somehow gotten cozy in a pile of snow. The snow crunched under him as he sat down next to you, far too obediently for a man like him.
"All the way, Zandik." You reached to nudge against his leg, tapping on it as a means to reinforce your point. He scoffed, and for a few moments you thought he'd stay upright before he, too, joined you in lying down in the snow. You seemed pleased, Dottore noticed. Well, that was what was most important.
"Is this enjoyable for you?" The scholar turned his head to face you after a few minutes of silence, observing your smile as you were content to lie there and stare up at the snow-heavy clouds.
"Very," you replied, turning on your side and scooching closer to your husband, brushing aside clumps of snow to do so. "Don't you like it?"
"If it's the weather you're referring to, I don't have any particular feelings toward it. If anything, it causes more problems than I like." Dottore shrugged his shoulders. Delays due to unforeseen storms, the issue with heat sources, and difficulty in traveling and exploring areas when compared to Sumeru, where he could roam easily... He didn't need to say the longing for his homeland aloud for you to understand where he was getting at.
"Well, I won't deny that I miss exploring the golden sands of the desert and soft grass of the forests with you... but." You leaned over to press a kiss against his cold cheek. "I enjoy any type of weather so long as you're with me. You agree with me, at least a bit, don't you? That's why you always accompany me." He remained silent as he stared at you, hands folded on his chest, and adorable dusts of snow littering his blue locks.
"Hmph." You giggled at his response as he looked away from you.
"But... you know. There's something incredible that even Sumeru doesn't have." You reached for a lump of snow and quickly formed it into a ball with your hands. Before Dottore could question you, the snowball splattered right on top of his mask, making him freeze - and not because of the cold. "Snowball fights!" Dottore's lips parted, as if speechless by the snow sliding down his mask, before you were on your feet again to get ready for the battle.
If you're so insistent that the snow doesn't bother you, he might as well pelt you with some snowballs since you're so desperate.
How do you think the reunion between Reader and Zandik would go down?
Just imagining them seeing eachother for the first time in a long time in maybe new forms. Reincarnated, rebirthed, either way goes. I just want our pookie back 😖
It was rare that anyone would send you letters. The only ones who would really do that were the Segments when they were away for a period of time. And after they had departed, leaving you alone in the world, you never received one again... until now. It was more of a note than a letter, though, with a singular sentence: "The sea of Sumeru Roses that you showed me on our first picnic under the stars still exists, and I'd like to share it with you again."
Of course, it nearly made your heart jump out of your chest, as there was only one person who would know something so specific. Your first instinct was for hope to glimmer in your eyes, before doubt set in. You knew all too well he had perished in the flames, and his absence had dug a permanent hole in your heart. But maybe it was because of that that you set out immediately. You weren't sure how much longer you could go on with such a painful ache, and that was why you scrambled to Sumeru to see the boy you fell in love with at the Akademiya once more.
"Zandik? Zandik!" You called out for him the moment you stumbled into the flower field, no longer having the interest to admire its beauty like you once did hundreds of years ago. "Zan-" You abruptly paused when you saw the familiar figure standing a distance away, the same blue curls bordering his face and one hand placed behind his back.
"Oh, you're right on time. I knew I wouldn't have to wait long." Despite his words, his tone was soft, and the red eyes you missed so much were gentle. "I would have come to you, however-"
"Zandik? I-Is that really you?" Your voice broke as you took a few steps forward, wanting nothing more than to run to him, but still in disbelief.
"... Do you still remember when I finished all the baklava before we even arrived here?" Tears welled in your eyes as you nodded at the ancient memory, your feet carrying you faster than you could respond. When you practically threw yourself at him, Zandik caught you with ease.
"How- How are you-? Your soul, the fire, was it the Ley Lines-" You sobbed against your lover's chest, his familiar scent quickly relaxing you despite your tears. You could only guess that his fragmented soul had been brought together as one again somehow.
"It's a long story," he murmured, placing his hand atop your head and stroking it as an apology. "I'm... sorry it took me so long to return to you." Your fingers gripped his clothes as you shook your head.
"After everything, they put me on trial! They asked me a bunch of questions, and I-I had to lie and say a bunch of... awful stuff about you!" Her Majesty had allowed you to stay under the protection of the Fatui after Dottore had been deemed a traitor, perhaps out of pity after enduring a similar scenario, but the days were empty without Zandik. "And then, everything was so... so bleak. I could hardly go on without you..." He remained quiet as you cried into his chest, only wrapping his arms around you tighter.
"It was not my intention to have you endure such a thing." He had only wanted to build a new world for you, and he did, in a way.
"But you're back. I don't need to go through that anymore, Zandik. Zandik... It feels like a while since I've said your name." You looked to him with teary eyes. It wasn't like you had anyone to say it to, but now...
Zandik grasped your face and leaned in to capture your lips, thumbing your tears away in silent understanding, as you wrapped your arms around his neck, ushering him closer.
Now, Zandik had found both himself and you again, therefore starting a new beginning.
Bestie!! What is the best way to straight up embarrass Alpha, Beta, Zeta and Sigma, besides the obvious "Beloved Reader smooching them into oblivion while their agents watch"? What deep dark secrets are we outting on these poor guys?? 👀
It's not all that hard to embarrass Alpha, to turn the usually scowling scholar, into a flustered, annoyed mess. Perhaps the best time to target the ex-student would be when he's in the middle of writing something. See, you two have somewhat of a (one-sided) game (that he does not agree to play but ends up doing anyway.) It's no secret that the segment gets worked up easily. And sometimes that energy transfers into what he's holding... his pens and pencils, namely, tend to snap in half when he's excited, when he's annoyed, when he's trying hard to ignore your words... You love to collect all of the things he's broken and use them as a way to tease him. Bonus if you do it while his agents are around, the poor employees stiffening every time half of a pencil drops to the floor. You look so innocent and happy, all while their Lord Harbinger is snapping utensils left and right... It's only a matter of time before one of them finds out what exactly you whisper in Alpha's ears.
To embarrass Beta, well... getting your hands on him a bit too much can push him into a blushing state. But if that's off the table, then perhaps you should do nothing - yes, nothing - except be in the presence of the Harbinger (again, in front of his agents for maximum points). What needs to be said when they see you so plainly push the scholar's stuff off his table or desk to lay on it, and the Harbinger says nothing to stop you? What does Beta say when he sees you've curled up on his chair like it's yours? That's right - he says or does nothing, maybe save for a few half-hearted mutters, red staining his cheeks. You can literally do anything, and Beta is happy you're just sticking around him instead of going to his other selves. It is well observed by agents his soft demeanor, which is quickly dissolved if the segment catches their stares.
It's hard to embarrass Zeta even when you're smooching him in front of others - he just sighs into your lips and gives the offending watcher a dark look as they scurry off immediately. He is just... very much past the point of caring about how others perceive him. So perhaps you'll accidentally spill his secretly sweet side (toward you) whenever the other segments scoff about him, or lecture a random agent who definitely had the wrong idea about your precious Zeta! If the segment happens to be within earshot, he'll press his fingers against his forehead with tiredness and ignore the warmth creeping up his neck at how you vehemently defend him. Well, next time he sees you, he'll make sure to lavish you extra, but... also let you know maybe not to say such things about him...
Sigma... is another tricky one. He also doesn't care if anyone sees him doing any intimate activities with you, finding your reaction amusing at most - that's mostly just fuel to tease you further. He just goes with everything, observing with interest. And so that's why you blatantly dodge his affection at every possible chance without fail, leaving the segment's hands twitching. At first, Sigma thought it was a game, really. An amusing game at that. But that was before the agents started giving him some looks whenever you ignored him. And now rumors of how their dear Lord Harbinger has upset his sweetheart are floating around. Okay. Still, he finds the gossip a bit amusing, but he'd much rather hear gossip of a different kind... he asks you not to make the agents come up with theories again.
first of all, tysm for responding to my omega comfort ask, you delivered as always 🫶
I’ve been thinking abt a fragile reader who likes stealing parts of the segment’s outfits when they’re bored 🤩
Omega might struggle to find his mask one day, only to find you standing in front of a mirror, his mask on your face, proudly puffing out your chest and mocking his arrogant tone. He doesn’t interrupt, but watches, amused by your antics.
Maybe Beta will be scrounging around for his bow tie, muttering angrily, until he notices you sitting nearby, adjusting the fabric around your neck. You don’t see it, but he flashes an adoring smile your way 🥰
Also, could I be night anon? 🙏
All of your lovers had a great variety of clothes and stylistic choices spread across them. It would frequently send you into laughter when you saw someone like Beta standing next to Omega, but you truly did love them all the more for their eccentric choices. More importantly, there was no way you could pass up the opportunity to "borrow" such fashionable clothes! Seeing as Dottore and the segments were frequently busy, their clothes were a perfect source of comfort whenever you were bored or missing them, their warmth and lingering scent still remaining.
Omega's blue shirt, white coat, and gloves were the easiest articles to put on - if you spent time trying to put on all those other accessories, you'd tire yourself out before you even began. You had to hold the mask up to your face too, since it was too big to lock in behind your ears properly, and you couldn't even see, but it didn't matter since you had literally become the Doctor in that instance.
"I am first and foremost a scholar. As a scholar, I respect all possibilities." You quoted those lines that Omega loved to parrot and tried to match the level of his sassy scholarness, but unfortunately, you couldn't compare. Your evil laugh didn't even have that oomph to it either...
Little did you know that the segment himself was taking in the sight with amusement. Putting aside your questionable dialogue (which he would get you back for later), he admired how alluring you looked in his clothes. Ah, how wonderful it would be if he could return to you in only his clothes more often. Therefore, he was content to let you embarrass yourself for a while longer before he succumbed to his urge to touch you. You didn't even realize Omega was approaching until you felt a hand quickly turn your chin and guide your lips to his.
"While I find your problem-solving to be most entertaining, if you wanted to be closer to me, I have much better solutions in mind."
-
Beta's clothes, on the other hand, were much simpler to put on. The button-down white shirt was easy to toss on, and his coat was long and surprisingly soft. It would make a good blanket, you thought. Trying to make your eyes line up with the holes of Beta's mask was a chore, so you had discarded it to the side. But what really brought the whole thing together was the iconic pink bow tie, of course.
"He he ho ho." No, that just sounded wrong coming from you. "This bores me," you drawled, imagining the scurrying of some of his menials after the Harbinger lost interest in his latest project, all while perfecting your tug of the bow tie.
Beta's previous grumpiness is forgotten and replaced by his usual blank stare, where he takes in what he's watching while collecting his thoughts. It doesn't take long for him to break into laughter, which makes you practically jump in your seat. If anything, the segment would appreciate it if you could take control of his agents for a day. Perhaps you'd be more suited to the job than he is...
"If you really have nothing better to do, then come with me to my lab. ... No, I didn't say for you to take those off."
It's interesting that Feofan/Pantalone could have met Fragile!Reader before becoming a Harbinger because of his past with the doctor. 👀
It would be a lie to say that Feofan and Zandik had not grown close to each other since they had met each other. From a test subject to a bank clerk, and perhaps soon even a Harbinger, the Second had stayed near throughout it all. Perhaps it was from their shared hatred for the rules of the world that attracted them together. Maybe it was mutual interest in what one could do for the other, the foundation of their partnership. Or maybe it was the fact that there were very few who could see them for who they truly were. But regardless of the reason, there were things that could only be said between them, and this was obviously one of them. The banker could tell from the way the scholar smiled at him knowingly and led him on a walk away from their usual meeting place.
"Feofan, do you remember the story I told you? The one about a scholar from a merchant family?" Dottore began, his hand placed behind his back while the other waved around as he spoke.
"And the one endured through his studies, only to be expelled afterwards, yes."
"That's right. But I'm afraid I haven't been all that truthful about the details," Dottore chuckled.
"That's hardly surprising. The others might have bought it, but upon closer inspection, the holes become noticeable. But perhaps that makes it all the more compelling." The Second only smiled at his friend's response.
"Then, my friend, have you ever felt love toward anything? Or better yet, you've known me for rather long. Do you think me capable of such affection?" Such odd questions were common when talking with The Doctor, but this was one even he felt was unrelated to their normal discussions.
"Love is a strong word, Dottore. It would be wrong to give such an answer on a whim." As usual, Feofan was always good at talking his way out of things. "But is this one of your hypotheticals, or are you saying you have loved before?"
"What would you say if I said it was the latter?" Dottore's smile still remained on his face as he looked at the banker, but his tone was serious. Feofan remained silent, as if pondering what a suitable response would be, but Dottore found his skepticism amusing. "You have plenty of reasons not to believe me. I did not even believe myself when I was young. But I want to show you something." The scholar pushed open the doors in a remote section of the lab and ushered him in.
From a young age, Feofan had trained himself to school his features, never breaking that calm and composed smile, and yet when Dottore presented the sight in front of him, nothing could stop a dash of surprise from appearing on his face. The scholar sat beside you at your bedside, taking hold of your unresponsive hand and placing a kiss on you.
"The truth, Feofan, is that there was another person who joined the scholar during his studies at the Akademiya. That person had similar ideas and yet was completely different. The person wormed their way into his life until he didn't want to let go anymore." Dottore cocked his head, observing Feofan's purple eyes that examined you both.
"But then they fell ill, were expelled, and ended up leaving him. And the scholar could not simply accept that as their fate. So he took them away and decided to change both of their fates." Dottore's gloved hand reached to caress your cheek with great tenderness while the banker looked on silently. "What do you think of that story, Feofan?"
"It is far more captivating than the one you told before," he finally settled on. "I would not have been able to guess it on my own, had you asked me to fill in the gaps." Feofan took in your features while he could. So, there really was someone who could entrap The Doctor in such a manner. If anything, he was impressed.
"Is that not the best kind of stories?" Dottore shrugged his shoulders and moved away from you, not without squeezing your hand first. "Regardless, Feofan, I'm sure you'll treat them with great care. Not because I'm asking you to, but I imagine you'll find yourself intrigued on your own accord."
"If you manage to be, then perhaps I won't be too far off then," he mused in response.

Even Pantalone had not expected things to escalate so fast. He was not sure whether it was because he gave you special privileges for being his friend's beloved, or because you felt especially close to him, considering he was your only "friend." Either way, when you casually wrapped your arms around his own, nudging your cheek into his shoulder, it was not the same as the random men and women who would cling to him in hopes of what he could do for them. He blocked their touch out with a forced smile, but with you, he soaked everything about your softness in.
"You know, 'Lone... You've been working with Dottore for so long. You've got to have some embarrassing stories about him, don't you? Come on, tell me! Or at least tell me about the times you outsmarted him!" You looked at him with pleading eyes, and you didn't even know the effect you were having on him.
Hello! I've been reading you fics for a while, especially for me who is a dottore fan (still sad & a bit disappointed with hoyo because they killed a character as good as him :( )!
Btw, your writing is... addicting. It feels like I'm addicted to seblak but this is about your writting! I feel like my dopamine is really increasing, especially the fics about segment 25!
As someone who has never played genshin because my device is not capable for it, do you have any tips for writing characters like dottore? I have a lot of ideas for him, but I'm afraid to write him because I don't feel familiar with him, no matter how much fanfic I read about fics about him.
(I don't know why but I feel like your view on dottore's character feels right 😭😭, especially how you write twenty-five.)
Btw, have a nice day! Greetings from Indo (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)!
(I'm sorry if my English is bad 😔)
I'M VERY GLAD YOU LIKE MY WRITING ANON!! I'M HAPPY YOUR DOPAMINE IS INCREASING FJFBEIREU 🥺🫶❤️❤️❤️ I'LL TRY MY BEST TO HELP?? I'd recommend watching gameplay of his quests or at least reading through his dialogue on the wiki, as well as artifact lore and his notes throughout Sumeru though! But you should just go for it and write him to get those ideas out, it'll be fun!! 🩵🩵🩵
I'm very glad you like my 25 stuff! I was very nervous on writing him >.< Specifically for 25 since you like him, most of my interpretation of him comes from his design and the anomalous tree marrows (with the interactions with the other segments) (but this way can be applied to all of the canon segments). The original Dottore was focused on Eleazar during that time of his life, but I imagine the actual segment moved on from that. Regardless we see him with research and notes and the examination table, so I see him as a clinical and research heavy person. Not to mention his actual clothes give more of a lab vibe with the mask and long white coat, so i think he gets his hands dirty more than the others. Depending on his relationship with reader, he may or may not hide those things from you. I also think he is a very straightforward person, but not in the blunt sense of 18, it's like he's learned to hold himself back and grow more restrained as he gets older, just look at the way he's one of the only to actually help 8 with the notebook by asking the right questions. I think if you have a problem, he is very logical about it and will cut right into it.
This is going into HC territory but I also use him being closest in age with 18 to characterize 25. 18 is very hurt, very scarred from his experiences with his village and the Akademiya, and that comes out from being blunt, especially to 8. But as he grows older, I think he learns how to cover those sort of feelings up and try to be more in control, and not let anyone see that. Which is why i try to write 25 as being more detached, as it's around this age where he fully tries to block out those feelings. But at the same time, it's not like those feelings are gone, just deeply buried, so I like to think there are times 25 can still be vulnerable around reader, the only one he trusts. He behaves the opposite from 18, no lashing out, huffing, stuttering, etc but he still retains some of his feelings internally, and he wants acceptance too. I also think he plays with his glasses often, he likes having his hands busy.
As for like... general Dottore, my views vary from segment to segment but I will Try to tell you how I see him?? At least how i wrote original Dottore before it all went down. But my ideas will probably be biased because uh. I'm obviously fragile reader + soft Dottore pilled + they met in the Akademiya and how i think he'd act are within that scenario-
Dottore takes his bond with you very seriously. His heretical fate has been in effect since birth, and yet you stay by his side regardless of his fate to always be seen as a monster. Because of that, he is possessive and protective. He will not let anything or anyone harm you. That also includes himself. He's not a perfect partner, he still holds trauma, he struggles and restricts his emotions in comparison to you. But he wouldn't wish to cause you unhappiness despite knowing you chose to stay with him. There will still be fights, but you're the only one he apologizes to.
He enjoys the arts, not just experiments. He likes playing the piano for you, he draws you, dancing, he likes taking you out, specifically to operas or other performances because he loves sharing opinions and thoughts with you, he truly cares about what you have to say. He actually likes when you have different opinions than him, your perspective gives him the chance to think, unlike being around others. At the same time, he's quite logical. He views things through a different lens from you, shaped by his experiences. It's not always a bad thing, he's very helpful when it comes to some things, but it also sparks disagreements.
Despite being quite smooth at talking now, and knowing how to compliment and woo you (unlike his younger years) he still is better at conveying his feelings with actions. And yet his gifts are more unconventional, he likes making little gadgets or toys. It's an example of how he can be contradictory when it comes to you, normally he would scoff at wasting time on something that serves no real purpose, but for you, he will do it. Or he just straight up kisses you rather than saying he loves you. When he was young, he was both touch starved and touch averse, making it hard for even him to decide what he wanted to do to you. But again, he's older now and much more confident with touching you.
Also, a lot depends on how you want to characterize reader too. I like giving Dottore a reason to be soft, to act the way he does with reader. If you don't think he'd do something regularly, think of a scenario that would make it acceptable for him to do said thing. With a partner who met him and accepted him at the most vulnerable stage of his life (Akademiya), it seems more believable that he would dote on them. But say for example, a lab assistant reader meeting him in the Fatui, it's going to be far harder to let down his walls, he won't be as nice.
