There was the voice she was looking for. The man that she was hunting. His voice sounded so gentle and pure. Was this seriously the man that was destroying buildings and reaking havoc with the power of nature at his fingertips?
She couldnât believe it either.
She went further into the room quietly, glancing around at her surroundings to see if this guy was anywhere hiding. Up in the trees, a hidden room, anything. This could go two ways. For now, itâs peaceful mode at this very moment.
âA very beautiful place you got here. I canât help but find myself, well, mesmerized by its beauty.â
He stretched, his tail arching behind his back as he did so. At least this person wasnât outright aggressive. Or.. didnât charge at him right away. He did notice her rapier, however.
His desk wasnât as hidden as it could have been- he didnât feel the need to hide in a nest of vines like he did when he slept- but he walked slowly out of the shadows anyways. She hadnât attacked him, she... probably wouldnât.Â
âI try! Itâs tolerable, at least. Nothing like home but itâll do.â He wasnât about to say where home was just yet. A armed person appearing unannounced? Sounded like a bounty hunter or Overwatch. âMost people donât just drop into random abandoned buildings, though. So why are you here?â
Seeing Faunus so startled and terrified surprised Chess and entertained her as she tries to contain her laughter. She did manage to calm herself but her fanged smile still remained.
âFlowers are pretty arenât they? Iâm more of a chocoholic myself but I can still see beauty in the flora.â She comments as she climbs down from her perch. Her eyes were fixed on the faun-like gentleman much like how a predators eyes were fixed on itâs prey.  Â
This.. lady.. creature? Weird Omnic? She wasnât human, that was for sure. Her voice was feminine, though he wasnât exactly one for assumptions. He didnât like how she was looking at him.
It reminded him of... that situation. He suppressed a shudder.
âW-Well.. yes. I-Iâm not much of a fan of c-chocolates. Flowers are n-nice though!â He continued picking flowers. âNa-nameâs Faunus.. you?â Be polite, then look for an opportunity to get the heck out of dodge.Â
Hibiki let out a huge sigh. This kid looked like someone who got busted for stealing gum from a super market. She slowly sheathed it but she kept her hand on it so she could stop him if he decided to run. She didnât know if he was telling the truth but he didnât seem to have any reason to lie. Anyways, he did look like he was growing plants.
Then someone hit her. A news article she remembered reading. Building destroyed because of trees. Someone was growing trees in there and successfully destroyed the place.
She narrowed her eyes slightly walked calmly up to the other.
â Itâs occupied and if you think youâre gonna destroy this base with mere plants, I will tie you down and cut them all down one by one. Or perhaps spray them dead. I highly suggest you relocate these plants somewhere else away from here or youâll join in their fate. â
She was getting closer. Oh no. Think on your toes Faunus; how do you get out of a room when thereâs only one exit? He glanced around the room. Not getting stabbed was still his top priority, but he did have his own knives, if it came to that.
âH-Hey now.. no n-need for violence!â He laughed nervously. Maybe she could get closer. He could maybe catch her off guard, if she thought he wasnât able to fight at all. As much as he didnât want to fight, he felt rather cornered.
At the mention of relocating his plants he swallowed. âW-Well.. the problem t-there is theyâre already rooted into the ground. C-Canât relocate them uh.. when theyâve done that.â
He took slow footsteps away fro the lady, fully aware that heâd bump into the wall sooner or later. Probably sooner, seeing as he was close to it anyways.Â
figured i should upload these! potential skins i made a while ago for faunus :> his basic skin isnât there, and i may do more skins later! it all depends
â Oh, Iâd love to come meet your plants, Faunus! â she said with no small amount of enthusiasm. It sounded a little like a date, but⊠They were looking at plants, so she was pretty sure it didnât mean anything.
â Oh, where are you from? I-If you donât mind me asking! That was a little rude, sorryâŠ. â
âThen itâs settled!â He smiled. He was already excited- did he have enough? Should he get more? He should go plant shopping soon. Then heâd have more to show off! He wanted to impress her; he needed friends who also like plants.
âOh! Iâm from Canada, originally, but iâve been living around here for a while. I live with an older lady iâve taken to calling Grann.â Â He said all this with a cautious tone, as if he was carefully choosing what to reveal.
He had never met someone that would blatantly state that he âlovedâ nature, most people he knew kept away from the park to begin with. It was always something along the lines of: Eww â bugs, eww birds, eww nature, which was the main reason he went here when he tried to be alone. They just assumed he was the same as them so noone came searching for him here.
He blinked in confusion when the stranger demonstrated the shoes. âThatâs pretty awesome.â He admitted before putting on a pout. Martin lifted his hand and tugged at a strand of his hair âIâll let you know that this red as natural hair colour is pretty rare!â He chuckled, letting go of his hair before putting on a broad smile âCan this boots do fancy things?â Martin asked, his thoughts at his own power armor or the summoning gloves he still spotted âLike, better jumping? Faster running?â
The confusion on the strangerâs face was something he had gotten used to seeing. No one appreciated nature anymore. He shook away his fowl mood internally; he could sulk later. Right now, he was talking to someone.Â
âO-Oh. Uh.. thank you?â He obviously wasnât used to being complimented, as the blush remained on his face. âI havenât seen many with red hair, so I suppose youâre right!â He titled his head at the otherâs question. âOh! Yeah.â Faunus kneeled down. Heâd show the other dude what these boots could do. Even if he drew attention to himself.
Faunus lauched himself high in the air, settling back down behind Martin.
The young vandal had been in the city, throwing bombs as usual. Someone had, as per the usual, called the police. Faunus thought quickly and had ducked into what seemed to be an abandoned mall. Apparently, he was wrong.
The boy turned at the the sound of a voice. Damnit. âI just need to hang around in here for a little while.â Until the police give up, at least. The flower the.. omnic was watering caught his eye. âWhat a pretty flower.â He may not like Omnics much- but he certainly loved nature.
The omnic large red eye seems to stare at the other than going to point, seeming to think the other might want to see the big tree in her mall, would no hurt to try and be friendly.
âThis place has a bigger plant if you wish to see it, sirâ
Faunus practically beamed at the omnic when it mentioned a bigger plant.
âLead the way!â He didnât think heâd see that day when heâd willingly follow an Omnic, but here he was. Willingly following one. But plants were more important the any old grudge. Plants were the best thing about life.

Faunus heard the sound of sirens and it sent him more on high-alert than he already was. It wasnât him this time so it stood to reason it was someone else. Someone who probably wasnât a good person. Unthinking, he ducked into the park and watched from the shadows as the cops sped by him.
At least he was in the park now, he thought as he walked out from behind cover. Faunus began picking the flowers in an attempt to calm his nerves.
Chess moved from tree to tree, branch to branch as she stays hidden from the cops when she noticed Faunus in that field of flowers. Curious she was as she made her way to him from high above and when she was in a comfortable spot that she doubt the police would see her in she made the first step into conversation. âLose something?â Chess asked Faunus.Â
The faun-like man must have jumped at least a foot in the air at Chessâ question. He honestly hadnât expected anyone to be here, or if anyone was, heâd expected them to move on quickly after the cops sped past.
He turned around, only to let out a shocked gasp. This.. person? Didnât look normal. Faunus quickly shook his head- if this person was an Overwatch agent, he wouldnât want to seem suspicious. She seemed... odd looking enough to be one.
âW-What? No.. I just.. uh... I just like flowers i-is all.â His voice came out as a high-pitched squeak. Good job acting brave, Faunus. Good job.

Vanilla had heard about this guy named âFaunus.â All she knew was that this guy was practically destroying cities with vines and all that nature stuff. She didnât really quite understand why, but this guy was on the run, even stole some Overwatch tech to do his destruction, and being the mercenary she is, she was gonna find him.
The last lead she got was that he was hiding out in an abandoned building, based on eye witness accounts. It was outside of the city so it was a long walk but she got there. She found the place covered in vines and roots. Trees were practically growing out from the rooftop.
This is it. She had a decision, she can try and make friends with the guy if everything turns out alright. Or, she would have to fight her way through it. Depends on how this turns out.
She goes through the doors, going in cautiously. She looked around the place, and she had to admit, it was absolutely beautiful. The sun shining through the trees, everything. It was amazing.
She finally snapped out of looking at the scenery and closed the door behind her. She kept her hand near her rapier, calling out:
âAnyone home?â
It wasnât often the young anarchist hid out in abandoned buildings. He often stayed at his own home- but this wasnât the city that he and Grann lived in. He had no choice but to find a abandoned building and after a few... improvements, it was a place to call home for at least a little while. The day [or what he counted as a day- when in reality it had only been a few hours] had been a long one; and he had all but exhausted his plant bomb supply.
Heâd have to make more before bed. With a frustrated huff, the young man sat at the half-broken desk that was in the small room he was staying in and began carefully putting together more bombs.Â
Faunus stopped in his tracks when he heard a noise. A loud noise. Footsteps. He drew himself up, getting into a stance that would let him spring into action if he needed to. Had the police found him? He had made sure to cover his tracks...
At the single âAnyone home?â he calmed down significantly. He could handle one opponent. He cleared his throat and called out a âYes?â directed at the voice, which was growing nearer by the second.
Junkrat wasnât entirely sure what was happening around him, but things were loud and explosives were being thrown, so obviously this was a place he wanted to be. It looked like there were police around, some crazy guy throwing shit, and⊠Plants? Yes, there were certainly some weird plants around, but the junker paid no mind to them. Instead, he began haphazardly throwing his own bombs into the mix, not really caring where they ended up or who got caught in the explosions.
What a great time! explosions going off everywhere, cops getting blown up, a bomb heading right towards his head. A shrill scream escaped from Junkrat as he just barely ducked out of the bombâs path. It landed close enough behind him that he got blown forward a few feet, but other than knocking the breath out of him and covering him in even more soot nothing immediately noticeable happened. He lay splayed out in the street, looking up at where the bomb came from. Someone was yelling at him, but the only words he caught were âplantsâ and âasshole.â Strange⊠Once he got up he hopped a little closer to the weird yelling man. He seemed fun.
âWhat in the hell are you yellinâ about mate? Plants donât have assholes! I donât think they do anywayâŠâ
He finally got a good look at the offender in question. He looked like.. a mess, if he was honest. Unkempt hair, covered in soot, his hair was on fire. How the hell was he able to ignore that? Though, Faunus did let out a small giggle when he barely dodged the bomb. Not that the bomb he had thrown was meant to hurt the other man- just restrain him so that Faunus could give him an earful.
He twisted in the air, throwing a bomb behind him to make a plant wall and landed in front of this... disheveled and dirty man. He obviously hadnât heard him the first time. Plants? Having assholes? What nonsense was he on about.
âI said.â He let out an exasperated sigh. âStop destroying my plants! I go through all this effort, and then you ruin them! Itâs frustrating.â He had, momentarily forgotten about the cops.
Hibiki raised an eyebrow at the pathetic scream the other emitted. A small smirk found itâs way to her lips as the other emerged from the vines. Checkmate. She looked him up and down and noted all the unique characteristics about him.
Well now that she has him out where she could see him. She twisted her sword slightly in the light to let him know how sharp it was, and that if he tried escaping, sheâll most definitely cause harm.
â Now tell me, who are you and what are you doing infiltrating Watchpoint: Gibraltar? â
This wasnât her field of work, but sheâll fake it and then turn him into Winston or Soldier: 76.Â
He put his hands up. âW-Woah there! I-I donât mean no harm.â The poor boy was as pale as a ghost, literally shaking in his boots. But it was the truth- he never did mean any harm. Trouble just found him.
âDi-Didnât realize this place was occupied! I-I was just growing some.. some plants.â He had to be careful. This person could be part of Overwatch, or police, or anything. He knew nothing- and he had no idea if they knew of him. He may not be too well-known, but people still knew about him. Or at least he had met those who did.Â
He knew one thing; he certainly didnât want to be stabbed today.
She followed the strange person through their dwellings, looking around curiously. It had been a fairly long time since she had even been in something someone could consider a âhomeâ. Star wondered if all homes nowadays had plants literally growing over the bedroom walls or if this person was just some deranged hipster. However she could appreciate that either way.
She took this time to lean against a wall as she observed his actions.
âHmm, well lets start with names then- yours?â
The kettle resounded with a click, Faunus poured two cups and brought one over to Sarah. He returned to the kitchen to grab the sugar and milk before sitting down with those and his own cup of tea. He knew he wouldnât be sleeping after this. Once he was awake, there was no getting back to sleep. He was awake for the day.
Not that he ever slept for very long in any case. At most he slept 3 hours- and only if Grann was home.
âHuh? I told ya- nameâs Faunus. I donât have any other name.â Which wasnât true, but he be damned if he was going to give his birth name to anyone. And he.. hadnât picked out a name besides Faunus yet.
The faun-like man let out a groan- what had he landed on? He opened his eyes to⊠stare into the eyes of someone else.
Faunus full-on blushed as he realized he was on top of another human being. Oh shit. He got up after Martinâs comments. âMy mistake- the trees here are just so beautiful! I was distracted, iâm sorry.â
He offered his hand to the other man.Â
The stranger turned almost as red as his hair causing Martin to furrow his brow in utter confusion. He listened to the explanation, putting on a pout before whining again âThatâs barely any comfort to be honest.â The readhead took the offer for help, pulling himself back to his feet, brushing off some of the dirt on his clothing. âI suppose the trees do look good though.â But wasnât that the purpose of the park to begin with â to look pretty? He looked over the scenery before taking in the appearance of the other. And then he stared, for a good few seconds before blinking again âYou look different.â He said, slowly, trying his best to not sound offending.
Faunus shuffled. âAh, iâm sorry.â You idiot- bumping into someone like that! Watch where youâre going next time. His bright green eyes looked away from the other manâs in shame for a moment, before pulling himself to attention after the stranger commented on trees.
âI love trees! And plants!â He stopped himself. âI uh- It must be the boots.â He blinked and lifted one of his feet, wiggling the toes. He had remarkable control over the boots themselves. âYou look... pretty normal.â He rubbed the back of his head, smiling. âNot that thatâs a bad thing, looking normal! It makes you less obvious!â

Night dawned on the city. Though Faunus usually rose early, he didnât get much sleep at night. He was a bit of an insomniac- always has been, probably always will be. You have to be alert, all the time. At least.. thatâs a lesson he learned the hard way.
So, his nightly walks came about. Wearing his boots, but also a cloak, he walked the city at night when he could be relatively alone. He enjoyed the silence of it- even if he was on high alert the whole time. But still, the night air was refreshing. Maybe heâd pick some flowers for Grann, he thought as he headed towards where he knew a park was.
Chess was hiding away from the authorities as always. This time amongst the trees in the park. Such a shame that this lovely night would be interrupted by the sound of sirens and being chased all around wherever she is. Two cops walk by where she was as they look for her. âSee anything Joe?â âNope.â âMe neither.â They say to each other as they aim their flashlights all around.
Faunus heard the sound of sirens and it sent him more on high-alert than he already was. It wasnât him this time so it stood to reason it was someone else. Someone who probably wasnât a good person. Unthinking, he ducked into the park and watched from the shadows as the cops sped by him.Â
At least he was in the park now, he thought as he walked out from behind cover. Faunus began picking the flowers in an attempt to calm his nerves.
@faunus-naturae â starter call!Â
â are you alright? â an underlying fear, the unknown of the other and the appearance more striking and intimidating by each passing second but only kept out of mind when the otherâs feet seemed to leave the ground. he did tower over him, only moments before, with the larger toppling over so suddenly that it was only instinct that made neptahly attempt to help. he would never intend toâ he never wouldâve done it if it wasnât out of nowhereâ he shouldnât haveâ this wasnâtâ but he did. it was uncharacteristic of him. ( something about his own self from a long time ago; something heâd forgotten about himself? no matter the case, he just needed this to be over with. )
Faunus had launched himself into the air, only to hit a rooftop. The hit sent him flying back to the ground and completely knocked the air out of him. Thatâll hurt tomorrow, he thought. He opened his eyes, with his eyes still seeing stars, and heard a âare you alright?â from somewhere ahead of him.
The man rubbed his head with a groan. How had he misjudged the jump that much? He didnât do that ever. âUh.. Mm... Y-Yeah?â His voice was groggy, and he was completely out of it.
