Sherlock never needed a roommate. Either Mrs. Hudson lets him live at 221B for free or Mycroft pays for it. He had already moved in when he asked John, despite “together we can afford it.”

Here’s what happened:

Mike Stamford made friendly conversation with Sherlock in the lab, asking how he was getting on, etc. Sherlock mentioned he had moved to central London.

“Oh really?” Mike said, “How’s the new place?”

“It’s fine, nice enough rooms.”

“Rooms? You get a flatmate?”

“Ha. No. I would be a difficult man to find a flatmate for.”

Then Mike went to the park, saw John, brought John to the lab, Sherlock looked at him for 0.75 seconds and did the slidey, big pupils, toffee eyes thing, realized that Mike had misunderstood, and rolled with it.

re reading a Johnlock fic I started a while ago that I have yet to finish because I’ve never actually put up a Johnlock fic before.

Tempted to finish it but at the same time terrified to even work on it because there are just so many amazing Johnlock writers out there and I always flip-flop back and forth about actually working on it.

Why can't someone just write my fic for me with all my ideas!?

Everyone just wants fluff, and I do more fantasy adventure and horror based drama fics. I actually despise fluff.

Feedback is important to me and I never get it. I like to know what people like about my fics so I know what to keep and what to work on. ‘I liked it,’ doesn’t work for me.

A03/tumblr aren’t the right forums for thoughtful critiques. Unfortunately. It is hard enough to get people to press kudos, let alone tell you they really enjoyed your use of metaphor or the underlying theme of power imbalance in your work. It is rare to see a comment that is more than a paragraph long, no matter how accomplished/well regarded the author is. A writers group might be more helpful for the kind of detailed feedback you are looking for. But it doesn’t mean your readers on A03/tumblr don’t love you.

And I love them, I really do. I don’t want a single one of them to think that they are not valued because they are. I think there is a writer’s group that might be more my area. I just need to talk with one of them and see what I need to do to get added.

Can I just jump in and say that I love any sort of horror based fic and would read them all. I wish I was more articulate with my words to leave long ass comments and I do generally try.

It’s actually been a while since I’ve even found any good fics that I’ve wanted to read that I haven’t read before!

Did we actually like need to have a scene showing someone going down in the well and cutting the chains off of John Watson or some shit? I honestly don’t know why tf people are so focused on that one thing man.

Granted yes, the whole jumping out the window of a flat was a tad on the dramatic and unrealistic side.

well that’s my cue to stay off tumblr, I didn’t completely hate the episode. As much as I love and live for Johnlock I truly never thought it would be wham bam in our face JOHNLOCK! But I’m happy to infer from it all that Johnlock is canon.

So yeah, off tumblr for like the longest ass time now because I can’t be reading all these posts shit talking - totally get people have their opinions and feelings but I just can’t read them all and not have some sort of emotion over it.
