When the first book of arc 3 came out and I had just finished reading it, my theory for flamesilks and the book of Clearsight was that flamesilks originated as a hybridization of nightwing firebreath and beetlewing silk, which was why the trait was so rare and why Wasp didn't just pair the flamesilks together to guarantee a flamesilk baby (related even if distantly), and that all of the hivewings being descended from clearsight was just propoganda. and tbh I still prefer this over the canon explanation we eventually got just because imo it fits the narrative better and doesn't have the worrisome incest implications

cringetober day 1 and 2! first is my bug god of the sun and second is my warriors oc sweetfur. neapolitan cats are not natural so she was my best i could think of for weird colors
