Haunted Books
My uncle is really into warhammer and would win every miniature painting competition he was in. I have not very steady hands and he saw me messing up my nail polish for prom. He sat with me and carefully painted my nails and that moment meant so much to me all these years later.
I like the idea in fantasy that humans are better at maintaining things long term because they set up societies or professions to do it whereas dwarves and elves and stuff are like “just get bob to do it he’s got a good few hundred years left” and then bob doesn’t teach anyone else how to do it
Elf: How have you kept this castle maintained for a thousand years if your lives are so short?
Human: We just train new people how to do it?
Elf: *gears visibly turning in their head*
Human: Are you alright?
Elf: I just realized that we didn’t have to let that whole city fall to ruin just because my grandfather died.
Human: What?
Human: Wait that’s why there’s ruins of elven cities even though you live for so long? You just keep not asking people how to do things? How do you learn anything?
Elf: There’s a lot of “you’ve got time to figure it out on your own” attitudes floating around in our society that I’m starting to question somewhat.
Elf: That sword, where did you get it?
Human: My cousin made it.
Elf: Impossible! Those metalworking techniques were lost a hundred years ago!
Human: What do you mean lost? My great-grandmother learned to make these swords from an elven smith, then taught it to her kids.
Elf: That's ridiculous. No elf would give such secrets to a human.
Human: They didn't. Meemaw delivered the metal to the forge, and no one kicked her out when she stayed and watched. She always said they barely acknowledged her even when doing business with her, like she wasn't worth noticing.
Elf: Come to think of it, my great-uncle always was rather single-minded when he started working.
Human: So he wasn't ignoring her, he just forgot she was there?
Elf: Oh, he was definitely ignoring her, too. He was super racist.

I need to know if there are any canonical sources for the internal organ anatomy of a bulbasaur. All I'm finding from official sources is that the bulb is lined with seeds, which store and supply nutrients. Is the bulbasaur 100% plant or do they have, for example, a liver? Lungs?
There are also these apocraphal images.

Nova's tips for beating the heatwave:
1. Check that you have good access to shade trees, a shelter custom made to fit you and all your friends, and plenty of good airflow
2. Find the hottest, sunniest, and least windy part of you pasture and lay down
3. Make sure you look as much as possible like you have died of heatstroke
4. Get your friends in on it
Time to snuggle up in bed and listen to my favorite audiobook, wherein the entire planet is destroyed in an instant and the only known survivor for the majority of the story is an Englishman cursed to suffer eternal solitude and wildly unstable happenings beyond his measly and inept Englishman comprehension. His only happiness and companionship in life granted as a mcguffin to increase his misery by taking it away. His suffering brings me contentment and joy, making me feel as though, perhaps, he is individually paying for England's sins.

i have a suggestion
The diaper changing ritual has become that the baby gets put into the tub, stripped, hosed down with the shower head, washed with soap, rinsed, taken out with a towel, told that they are a "pretty pretty baby, oh so pretty" in the mirror along with other praise relevant to the moment, and then allowed to be naked until they are ready for a clean diaper, at which time they communicate that preference by bringing the diaper, and when they get the diaper put on, they prefer to hold an engaging toy.
This is actually a suitable method for their aims and for mine. The diaper comes off by means of gravity, rather than by trying to lift a squirming AuDHD baby by the legs, weilding a hose while seated on a closed toilet is far less intensive than keeping track of wipes covered in baby shit while kneeling, the tub keeps the mess contained to be sanitized later, and the dirty diaper bag is kept in the bathroom anyway for the cloth diapers to be hosed off into the toilet and laundered in the apartment unit with lysol laundry sanitizer and dreft. What the baby seems to get out of it is mainly the power of choice. "Is this water too hot, Goober?" they dip their hand in the stream and ponder. "Turn around and grab the wall, Goober, so Na Na can wash your booty" I always say, and they they get praised for following those instructions properly. "Are you ready for the soap, baby?" and they like to get the soap themself, help me use it on them, and put it back away. They like to splash in the water on the floor of the tub and point at the ocean themed grip stickers. They love to be wrapped in a towel and called "pretty pretty baby" in the mirror and will fish for new and novel compliments like "what a sweet baby, so pretty & sweet what a good combination!" by giving a smile or even a dramatic hug. They are a creature of simple desires. The air drying process especially reduces the incidents of diaper rash, which used to get especially bad on their very delicate and sensitive skin, and was made worse by wiping, even with the softest wipes. They seem to enjoy the agency of picking when the clean diaper goes back on, and picking the fidget toy, and it makes them sit still willingly with a more positive attitude when they are in charge of these small things that make no difference to me to allow them to be in charge of. It brings me joy to see them be so content with this arrangement.
I definitely believe that the woowoo parenting stuff is right about how teaching babies consent starting with the diaper change improves their mental health, makes them less fussy and anxious, and leads them to pursue their goals with confidence in their bodily autonomy. Pursuing enthusiasm for the diaper change through engaged and mutually cooperative participation, rather than just compliance and passive participation, yields positive behavioral results, fostering trust and resilience.
