DELETED POST-CREDIT SCENE: Hans finally telling Henry where the damn water comes from.
Hey guys! Due to popular demand I have released an updated rendering guide on my patreon based on the DU drow x Jaheira art.
It's 18 slides long and covers a total of 13 steps. My membership is "only" (subjective, I know) 2 dollars a month and you can cancel at any time, so if you want you can always just take a look at it and bail, no hard feelings (but of course, continuous support is immensely appreciated!)
And as a freebie, here are my used brushes for that particular pic - It'd feel silly to lock that behind a paywall.
Thank you so much if you decide to check it out and I hope it's helpful to some of you! The link to my page can be found in my pinned post.
Not like it's a competition but Shadowheart would have stood no chance against a Fem. Astarion.
Hey! I really admire your work, and I look up to you for the most part, but recently I've been struck by a question that's been haunting my conscience. You once mentioned that "if you don't understand something,"Trace it!", but I do this with almost every drawing I make, even if it's sloppy, I trace poses from models and I feel like a cheater. I'd love to hear your general opinion on the situation where someone might use ready-made poses on a regular basis. Maybe it's time for me to rethink some of my work. :")
That depends on your goals with your art and skill.
Consider the existence of a collage artist, for example: why do they cut and paste a bunch of existing images together instead of just painting stuff from scratch? Probably because they don't gravitate towards drawing, or don't find the results that they get through that method to be interesting or worthwhile - they can get satisfying results and make their point through other means, and you won't see anyone berating them for it. The same can be applied to a photographer, a sculptor, or a 3d modeller. As long as you aren't lying about it, or tracing someone else's work without permission, whatever path you choose to get to a piece you're happy with is a completely valid one - even if that means tracing copyright-free images or 3D assets regularly.
However, if your goal is to hone in your illustration skill, learn to draw from memory, and develop a unique style, tracing all the time will be detrimental to that process in the majority of cases. It's not about whether or not it makes you a cheater (<- affects others), its about whether or not it gets in the way of your future aspirations (<- affects YOU). If you would like to learn how to draw without needing to trace... Then, yes, you should trace less.

Happy holidays everybody!

Wow...I wasn’t expecting that many likes at all… Thank you so much for all the support. I’m genuinely grateful.
I’ll keep drawing, and hopefully getting better!
So, I guess many of you didn't know about Corellon's blessing.

Jesus, don't do this to me! We'll make it together, you'll see...

Just drew some expressions for my Faye – she’s still evolving a lot.
