➤ BIOGRAPHY

Fayeth was born into one of the most important and powerful houses of the Seelie Court. Her parents had already had three sons and though they were very happy with that her mother really wanted a daughter, her father didn’t mind much if anything he saw having a daughter as just one more way for the family to gain even more power someday, after all although he loved his offspring the opportunity to find ways to further the stance of the family was something he was always in the lookout for.

And she grew up wanting nothing, truly living a privileged existence, her biggest concern was the latest drama in court. But as she grew older -though by fae standards she is still quite young- she began to get bored and grew restless, after all she had never left the Seelie court and even then she was part of a even smaller group. She was interested on how things were outside. Her parents grew concerned that in her quest to discover new things she’d go and do something stupid that could only bring her harm or worse bring harm to the family.

Talking about it to a friend of the family she recommended The Institute, her own daughter had found out about it many years ago and had went there to study, and met all kinds of people and came back ready to settle down. She was very excited when they told her about it, but also there was the fear of being somewhere so far from her home and everyone she knows,

Fayeth had taken some time to visit her family and just be at home for a while, as much as she had fun at the institute she truly felt she needed to be in the faewild for some time after how chaotic things had been, which was saying something becuase the faewild could be chaotic but in a way she was used to.

Still she had gotten restless again and so she was back here, she actually hadn't fully seen everything renovated so she began to walk around see how things changed and well see how the day want

"If there are, then they're missing one," Auggie continues, indicating the dove still ruffling her feathers atop their shoulder. Clearly not intimidating to anything or anyone. "Or maybe she's pretending a goose but without all the hissing, hard to tell with birds these days. It's like they're taking lessons from little dogs who think they're bigger than they are - you know the type. Anyway!"

Waving at the dove in hopes to shoo her off and away, again indicating the notebook and his pencil. "Would you prefer we sit somewhere inside? The library perhaps? It might be more warm if that's something you prefer, or are we fine here?" Always wanting to ensure the other person is comfortable if he is the one approaching like this anyway, as he didn't get cold. Not really. Numb, sure, but the melting snowflakes against their face was barely noticed.

"Unless you have a different area in mind that is more comfortable for you."

"Oh I seen those" she said with a small laugh "i have noticed that sometimes smaller creatures tend to be more aggressive, maybe because they know some could try to take advantage of their size...but maybe that bird just likes you."

“A wild night?” Luc chuckled lightly and spared a quick glance at his naked form. He shrugged. “Uh… no, ma’am. I just…” The shifter paused for a moment. There really wasn’t any use trying to conceal the truth or spare her any details. She’d already seen him shift plain as day. “I was looking for a quiet place to shift, that's all. I’m sorry if I scared you. I really didn’t mean to cause you any trouble, miss.” Thankfully, the lounge chair cushion was long enough to wrap around their entire waist, a gesture that was more for her sake than his. “It wouldn’t be too much trouble if I asked you for a towel or somethin’, would it? I mean, assuming you want your cushion back.”

"Oh, I guess that's understandable" She said with a small shrug, she figured that shifters didn't notice much where they were when they became whatever animal they turned into. "Oh I wasn't really scared I just thought a bear was here and that would have been nice" she explained. "Oh!...yes I'll lend you something, come with me" she said turning around and walking back to her home "I usually have things outside but with the snow is all inside" she explained. Finally at her house she went and went to get a robe and a pair of slippers "here ...do you want coffee? I was going to eat breakfast soon.."

Head tilted towards the sky, tongue out to collect the icy flakes falling from the sky when and where they could as it continued to sprinkle down around them, Auggie exhaled aloud. The fresh cold air felt so nice after being in classrooms, no matter how open and large they were. Being cramped in with a lot of people was never their forte to begin with, even if it was something they had to adhere to. It was just part of living among people. A creature that craved closeness in some capacity, especially in the cold like this. Body heat and all that. Something Auggie wasn't exactly the best at as is, which might've explained their desire to be out of the room, out of the building, and stretching their legs under the table in the Quad they were occupying.

With the holiday's approaching, the hollow darkness that always settled in around this time was creeping in yet again. It was never the same this time of year without having someone he was somehow attached to, to depend on for the sake of the silent mourning process he took to remember his sister. No one to hold his hand, or even hold him while he sat beneath his cloud. Now he was amongst strangers, depending on only himself. Something he had done before, but it had been a while. He had to remember how to do it all by himself again, and that wasn't sitting right with him.

The stark white dove that settles on the table, shaking her feathers and tilting her head up at him read: stop being sad, my child, and go make friends. Although he couldn't hear her voice literally, the tone is familiar enough that his mind supplies it on its own. "I've never made friends before," they argue, brushing the snow off of their notebook where they had been re-writing notes that had been rushed at the end of class, "so forgive me if I don't know how to go about this like a person might." The dove coos, pecking at the back of his hand, causing them to huff but not flinch. "I know, I know. No excuse. Just do it."

Flipping the page in his notebook to a blank page, they tap the end of the pen against it before standing again, and drawing the black jacket collar up around their ears. To protect their ears from being pecked at if anything, as the dove flutters from the table and settles on their shoulder. Moral support, perhaps.

Squaring off, Auggie pushes through and approaches the first person that appears from the falling snow, notebook and pen in an iron grip. "Hi, hello - excuse me." A clearing of their throat, a subconscious nervous habit they were falling back into since they were alive. "I am required to come up with some holiday themed recipes for the culinary class I'm taking. Perhaps I can take a moment of your time to fire off some questions so I know what exactly the pallet is of my fellow Islander's? Nothing off the table." Clicking their pen open once more, ignoring how the dove rustles her feathers as if adding her own intimidation tactic to get the other person to do it or else.

"Don't mind the chicken, she's clearly only using me for my body heat. I was thinking of cooking her personally, but⎯"

Fayeth wasn't very used to snow, she had been around it before and everything but it actually been q few years since then, the court and especially in her family's land the weather was usually closer to spring, she also had to admit snow she tend to connect more with the unseelie court which was bad on her part but oh well. That said here it was kinda charming honestly, she would like it to be less cold but it wasn't the worse thing either. She was walking around just enjoying seeing the grounds in a different way than the usual, when she was stopped, it actually was a little sudden so it took her a second to register what the other was saying "Oh...yeah that sounds nice" she said before looking at the chicken "there are chickens here?"

It’d been a while since Luc had shifted, letting their bear out in the world to do what animals do best. Just like a pet, a shifter’s animal required enrichment and socialization, and it was starting to show in Luc’s temperament that they had not been very attentive to the bear’s needs. The short fuse, his anxious smoking habit, the incessant craving for sushi, they were all indicative of an impending, involuntary shift. At least, it would be, if he didn’t give it what it wanted soon. 

Eager to placate it, Luc put the finishing touches on some smaller projects around the campus and called it an early day, opting for a hike up in the North Shore. Which, according to the campus map, should have been secluded enough to provide them with a little bit of privacy.  Finding a nice bit of wilderness, Luc stripped down from his thermal wear, shivering involuntarily from the brisk winter breeze. “The shit I do for you,” he huffed under his breath, getting down to his birthday suit. Just as quickly as they’d undressed, Luc changed, his comparatively smaller frame giving way to his massive bear form. It wasn’t a painful process, at least not anymore, and if it ever had been, the memory was lost on him. Bounding through the tufts of snow like a kid on a snow day, Luc wandered through the dense forest, leaping through soft mounds of snow until they came upon a clearing. Curious, the bear stalked further onto the property, cautiously at first, and then determined when they spotted a nice little patio set they could curl up on for a bit. The snow was clear here, and with the bit of respite it provided from the snow, the bear decided it would be a lovely little place for a nap. When Luc woke up several hours later, it was to the sound of someone gently trying to shoo him. His first human thought was that engaging with a bear was kind of stupid. His second, that he should probably change before they decided to take more drastic measures. Snatching up the long lounge chair cushion, the bear wrapped it around his waist and shrunk down to Luc’s much more modest six foot four frame. “Sorry, uh…” Luc held onto the cushion for dear life. “...don’t call the police?”

It had been quite the surprise for her to go into her garden and seeing a large bear just sleeping there, there were many reasons why of course but still, surprising. She got closer, way to sure that nothing bad could ever happened to her and began to try to wake the bear up, when the bear suddenly became a man a very small disappointed oh escaped her, of course she had expected it but she also had hoped it was a real bear "Hi... I take it was a wild night?

Tilly gave the mistress a little twirl. Her hair was curled and blown out to match Sissy Spacek's Carrie, and it bounced and shined bubblegum pink. She would never have it permanent, but it was fun for the time-being. Magic was a pain in the ass here, she was readily learning, but this was a cute perk. "Hair's just hair," she told her, taking another bite of the pink, the color in her hair only becoming richer under the syrupy fake blood. "The purple works for you!"

"I guess that's true, I just had never really thought about dyeing mine until now...could be fun, change it for a bit" she said looking at herself once again and nodding "Thanks, I guess now the hard part would be to pick one" well maybe with magic that choice wouldn't be so hard nor would the color be there for longer than she'd like "That color you just got looks very good on you too"

“Well I don’t mind petting him all he wants really” she said as she began to pet the bear, it wasn’t every day that she got to pet a cute bear after all, so she intended to make the most of it. “Oh that’s really amazing..so you were a very good warrior and so he picked you or you have always been one?” Odin was probably very understanding letting one of his warriors come to the institute, or maybe there were just no battles to fight right now.”Yes I am! have you met others like me?” 

Magnus chuckled a little, his head shaking with amusement at the bear's antics.  If he hadn't trained Bumbles himself, he would think that all he cared about was cuddles and affection.  “I was and still am an amazing warrior.  I became a Berserker in 492 AD when I died as a human and a Valkyrie plucked my soul from the battlefield and presented me to Odin.  Ever since then I've died and been reborn constantly across the centuries.”  Magnus shrugged nonchalantly.  The life cycle of a berserker didn't bother him, especially considering how little he remembered from his many lives.  “I have indeed met many Fae.  There's a number here on the island and I've been to the Fae court many times with my Grandfather.”

"Oh that's very interesting, did they pick the ones that are the bravest or the ones showed very good fighting skill?" she supposed it was all those things combined "Does that feel weird? Dying and comeback?" Dying at all was a concept that she understood on paper but as someone that will likely never experience death, it was strange for her "Fae here? who?" she asked before smiling "you have? oh and did you liked it? Did you met the queen?....maybe you met my parents or something too" she laughed

Freddie repeated Fayeth's sign a few times himself, making sure he had the movement correct. Most signers used an existing word in their language, but this was like pronouncing a foreign name, which he supposed, technically, he was. He smiled, then stopped signing. It was difficult to keep translating for his hands. Beautiful.

His brows knit together at the suggestion of teaching. The closest he'd ever come to that was practicing back and forth with his mum when they were both learners. Not best teacher. Can try. Then it occurred to him. Surely if there was all this magic floating around, they could take advantage of it. Spell? Something to help?

"Well we got to start somewhere right?" At least she could have the basics and could go from there if it became clear that the classes had reached a wall or something, after all she figured even if someone was natural at something didn't mean they would be good teachers or feel to comfortable teaching "Oh...that could work, I would just have to ask around" she sighed "I do have magic but not spells just like healing and like" she pointed at a bud of a flower and made it bloom in and instant "I'm still getting the hang of it in more precise ways, since I'm still young for a fae I'm also not the most powerful...But I will figure something out"

“Happy and safe and everything” she explained she sighed “I was worried not knowing anything” she also felt she couldn’t talk about it with anyone back home, even if she knew many felt like her they all knew it was best not to rock the boat or anything. She had always take comfort that Katell knew people and unlike her she knew much about the mortal world and other species but still.

Katell was taken aback by Fayeth’s assessment at first, but upon reflection it was true. Although she was a bound slave on a depraved island away from all the power and luxury she’d ever known, she was happier here than she’d been in some time. As much as her status contradicted it, she’d found more freedom within the safety of this shrouded island than her last few decades at court under Daley’s thumb.

At Fayeth’s second admission, Katell took her friends hand. Her thumb rubbed the back of Fayeth’s hand as she shared a soft, understanding smile. “I can only imagine the confusion that must have filled my absence at court. It must still linger in your mind and if I could explain it, I would. You must understand my silence, it’s-” she stopped, her tongue refusing to utter words that might point to foul play. The orders Daley gave her had not lost their potency in the time she’d been away.

Katell took a deep breath and changed the topic, “but we’re both here now, and happy. That is what we must focus on, our futures.” She smiled brightly to try and easy any concern Fayeth might have had.

"I understand" she said honestly "I admit it has been confusing and I heard things but I trust you and I don't need any explanations." Would she like to know, and maybe help her of course, but she wasn't going to pry or anything like that.

Everything looked so fun and amazing, from the decorations, the things to do, the food and she really liked the costumes some were wearing, really out of all the festivities she came to know since being here Halloween was probably the one she enjoyed most, and really everything going on really make all the bad things that went down lately , just go away.

She was happily eating some cotton candy, seeing how she'd look with diffrent colored hair, right now she had some shade of magenta and she kinda liked it honestly. She noticed someone close by "Are you having fun?"

Tilly's blonde hair was soaked red from the sticky fake blood for her Carrie costume, and she looked great - that was her opinion, but she knew she did. The tiara was pinned in, and while her skin felt just as sticky as her hair, it didn't bother her. She wasn't cold, it was a nice evening on the island and everybody kept talking about how fun the snacks were. Pink cotton candy had her long locs turning the same rose color as the sugar. Just then, someone spoke, and Tilly glanced over with a smile and girlish giggle. "Wait, this is so cute!" she gushed, getting a piece of blue cotton candy next, and watching the color spill down from her roots to her ends. "This is so fun!"

"It is! One of the best things I've seen since being here" she said smiling widely "that color looks nice on you" honestly she was a big fan of pink hair at the moment in general "I am even tempted to dye it for a while but maybe there is a better color" she said as she ate a bit more of the cotton candy and watched her hair turned more purpleish.

Sometimes. Have to be close. Watch carefully. Some people harder than others. Fayeth wasn't particularly difficult for Freddie to lip read, not when she was so expressive. If he wasn't quite sure what word her lips were shaping, he could always infer from the enormity of her eyes- and it wasn't that affected thing people did when they realised he was lip reading, exaggerating every movement. It made it harder if anything, and made Freddie feel insulted. He fitted the aid back over his ear, wincing a little as it emitted a high-pitched squeal, trying to sync back up. It only lasted a moment before, blessedly, correcting itself.

Freddie pondered how to explain it. He was feeling much more sympathetic now that he understood it wasn't willful ignorance on Fayeth's part- that she had genuinely never encountered a hearing aid before. Lots of ways. Mine is British Sign Language (BSL). Like this. He demonstrated, his hands moving far faster as he signed than he could do writing. Signing was freeing, made him feel able to express himself in a way he couldn't writing words with pencil and paper. Then he wrote what he had signed. My name is Freddie. He had finger-spelt his name. But you can call me- he paused, wondering how to articulate it. In sign, people had their own signs so they didn't have to finger spell their name. His was the sign for Mouse, which his mother had called him since he was very small. But it wasn't the same as having a nickname - having someone hearing call him Mouse outside of sign would be hideous. In the end he drew it, a little doodle of a mouse at the end of the sentence like a pictogram. He carried on. Your name is Fayeth. Again the finger spelling. What can I call you? Make a signal with your hands.

She tried to follow along to the hand movements when he spelt his name. There are some back home that also use signs to comunicate. though most that she knew weren't as intricate nor had a whole language . She then repeated the sign for mouse a few times. "Talking with your hands is so impressive, can you teach me more someday?" she asked, she found it very interesting plus it really seemed like a good thing to learn. She thought about it, there were a few things that came to mind but in the end she just did a simple sign "It doesn't really mean anything but is something that is used back home and I haven't seen anyone do it here so, it works I think."

Sasha watched the girl's hair turn color and her eyes widened. As she walked closer, she saw her hair change again to a more pinkish hue. "That looks really good on you!" she offered with a smile. "I would never have the guts to actually dye my hair a bright color like that. It's kind of nice you get to see without the commitment." she laughed lightly. "This is fun, it's nice to have something lighthearted to do after everything lately. And I love Halloween." she admitted.

Thanks" she said smiling back "I had never thought about it but now that i have seen it, I really like it" Back home she probably wouldn't even be able to do it. well, she would be but she knew her parents and circle would more than likely not like it, but she wasn't home and wasn't intending on visiting soon. "Do you know how long it stays if I were to dye it and all that?" she nodded "Yes, something fun was needed and I also started to like it very much" she offered some of the cotton candy "Do you want some?"

Smothering his pride, Freddie unhooked one of the hearing aids from his ears and laid it out in his palm to show the girl. Amplifies sound. I lip read too. There was that word again- Mortals. The one that made Freddie want to roll his eyes. All considered, he was taking the magic thing very well, at least outwardly. Maybe he was just refusing to address it properly. Not human?
