Henryk was happy that he was at least able to stop her from getting hit with the bag, if anything else. “Don’t mention it!” He wave, standing up a bit. “Would’ve hated for you to get hit by the bag. Guess I just kind of got into the rhythm of things.” 

“Nothing wrong with getting in a rhythm of things. It tends to make things go a lot smoother and faster in that case.” Faye knew a lot about routine and wanting things to go smoothly. “What are you moving all of this for if you don’t mind me asking?”

Henryk had offered to help unload some stuff for one of the patrons at the gym, finally getting into a rhythm as he unloaded one bag after the other. As he turned, he noticed someone approaching and called out to warn them. “Watch out, don’t want to hit you.” He commented, dropping the bag of the back of the truck. 

 Faye had to admit that she should’ve been paying more attention, but she was definitely a little bit captivated by reading up on something on her way to work. She was thankful that she was warned because it could’ve ended really bad. “Oh crap, thanks. One day I’m going to really get hurt if I keep up my antics.”

“I think it’s more like she just refuses to lose, even to a stain.” She commented, a shrug of her shoulders happening as she spoke. “Hm, I’m not minding it. Seems like everyone is hanging a good time, and that’s whats important, right?” 

“I admire that, in all honesty. At least you know with her around your clothes will always be stain free.” Faye smiled once more as she glanced around as if to confirm what the woman was saying. “Everyone definitely does seem to be having fun - which is the point, you’re right! I guess what better way to enjoy the warm weather while we have it.” A pause. “Plus, meeting new people never was a bad thing.”

Honestly, the second she had placed her hand on his face, all words that had came out of her mouth were lost to Reese. She was just so… breathtaking. He only heard one word that truly stood out to him and that was… “Good?” He scoffed. “I’m a saint, Faye. Look at me out here, volunteering to deliver ice cold snow cones to those smelly sweaty people dying in this heat.” His smile then turned into a mischievous smirk as he continued. “Funny I ran into you out here of all places. You looking for someone in particular? Someone who one day might just be your Mr. Right?”

This was a cat and mouse game, Faye was becoming more and more aware of that. “No, Reese. I certainly didn’t come to a barbecue looking for Mr. Right. Does anyone go to one looking for someone they can date?” she had to give him some credit though, he certainly was dedicated to things he want. “How did you get sucked into snow cone duty anyway? I don’t take you as one to volunteer for things.”

Darcy gasped in horror at the other’s warning, keeping the snow cone far from her clothing. “That could’ve been a disaster,” she said dramatically, seeing that some of the green dye had dripped to her fingers. “You don’t happen to have a napkin, do you?”

Faye nodded her head quickly and handed the redhead a napkin that she had in her pocket. She always tried to be prepared for things like this, at least it’s what her mother always taught her to do. “I’m glad I was able to help! Your outfit is far too adorable to get all sticky like that.”

“Oh my gosh!” Rae gasped a little, saving the rainbow cone from sloshing down onto her outfit. “Thanks! I’m so accident-prone, I swear,” she sighed, shaking her head with a laugh. As she kept it from coming down onto her outfit, the ice in the paper cone slipped out the other side, smashing onto the pavement with a soft noise. “Whoops. I guess it’s good I didn’t get it on my shirt though, right? Thanks again for the heads up.”

“Of course! I know how awful it is when something like this happens. Kind of puts a damper on your whole time when you’re worried about a little stain on your shirt.” Faye smiled at the girl. She handed the other girl a napkin just in case. “I dropped my entire snow cone earlier because it was melting so fast. You forgot how hot it can be sometimes.”

Benji would admit that he totally zoned out, too focused on the commotion around him to realise of the blue dye getting awfully close to the white t-shirt he was wearing, “Oh shoot- thank you. I guess I wasn’t paying much attention to.. well… anything.”

She smiled at him, nodding her head in an understanding manner before she moved to quickly grab some napkins. “Here we go. We weant to make sure that nothing extra dribbles out.” she placed the napkin in his hand before nodding her head. “At least now you’ll be protected in case you forget to pay attention - i would hate for such a nice shirt to get ruined.”

God, how much he loved it when she said his name. Especially like that. He let out a chuckle though, walking up to her, rather than helping the guy. “You are so funny, Faye.” He complimented her witty humor as she was probably right. He would kill that guy if he got some ice on his new Italian leather shoes. “But we all know how you women are. Don’t worry, I’ll always have your back to defend you.” He assured, knowing that above all else, Reese Brooke was a gentleman.

His words made her eyebrow arch even higher if that was physically possible and she shook her head at Reese. “Word of advice, especially if you want to have my back.” she smiled sweetly as she moved closer to him. “Don’t ever say ‘you women’ in front of me again.” she patted his face gently. “It doesn’t make you look all that good.”

Reese had been working for so long - three whole hours! Longest he has ever had to work before in his entire life. It had been exhausting, and honestly made him upset enough to want to curse himself for thinking this had been such a good idea. However that was until he saw a familiar face while he was on break. Faye Thorn - the girl he knew he was going to marry one day. That is if he could get her to pay attention to him for one minute. Seeing her warn a nearby person about their snow cone falling off onto their shirt, Reese saw this as the perfect opportunity. As the person passed by him, he knocked into them, making them drop their snow cone to the ground. “You should look where you are going, klutz. You almost got it all over the fine lady right before you.” He laughed and looked at Faye, hoping he had got the attention he craved. “Isn’t that right, Ms. Thorn?”

After the person went on their way, Faye moved back to admiring the area around her before a voice broke her out of her thoughts and her name was heard. Turning once more, a roll of her eyes immediately signified that she was not at all impressed by what she was seeing. “Reese, there was more of a chance that the snow cone was going to end up on your shirt since you two banged into each other and I think that would be a lot more of a commotion than a little bit of colored ice staining my outfit.”

Medea looked down at the treat that was in her hand before looking back at the woman. “Thanks for the heads up.” She adjusted it and took another bight. “It wouldn’t be a big deal! My sister could get any stain out, almost like it’s just a challenge for her.”  

“That’s real skill. I’m not too good with getting really hard stains out of clothing items but I could practically bring plants back to life.” she smiled though and shrugged her shoulder. “Are you having a fun time so far though? This has really been a great idea from what I can see.”

Being outside and experiencing the barbecue was a lot of fun for Faye. Everyone seemed like they were having fun and she was definitely enjoying the food and playing games and meeting new people. “Be careful! Your snow cone is about to spill!” she laughed a little bit at the person she spotted while moving around to see different things. “I’d hate for it to stain your shirt!”
