“Would any of my new neighbours care to join?”
“Well, since you’re offering, I guess it wouldn’t hurt.”
amber-parkinson:
“No, all of that’s already been carried up. This is just filled with clothes and other little necessities.” She waved her hand carelessly, not at all worried about the items in the bag.
“Okay, great, throwing it between us is probably the best way to go then,” Faye said with a grin. “Lets hope this doesn’t end badly.”
Dinner Date // Faye & August
arushofaugust:
Moving in went well, yeah. My roommate is a nice guy, he’s a little oblivious, but, he’s nice. August shrugged as he signed, smiling lightly. The waitress came by and August ordered his vegetable fried rice and looked to Faye to see if she needed help deciding or anything.
That’s good, I’m happy for you. Faye’s smile quickly fell as she noticed the waitress though, and she quickly flicked through the menu in a final attempt to decide. “Uh,” she said out loud, taking a moment, before pointing at one of the chicken options and ordering. She let out a light sigh of relief, running her hands through her hair before letting her arms drop and rest on the table, the smile now returning to her face. She looked expectantly at August, hoping that he was more naturally gifted with small talk than she was.

A chuckle left Cleo’s own lips as well as she listened to the other speak, “It really just takes practice, I was actually quite horrid at dancing at first but….I’ve improved and I really love it. Sometimes my body type seems to constrain me, but I just have to work harder.” She sighed, deciding that now was not the time to stress herself out over such issues. “Sounds exciting. I’m still in school. What did you major in?”
“Maybe I should have kept going with it,” Faye wondered before shrugging it off, “Eh, never mind, too late to regret it now. That sucks, but, hey, at least you know you’re passionate about it since you’re willing to work harder.” She replied, smiling along. “Photography, I’m actually trying to make a career out of it now but it seems to be harder than I thought.”
amber-parkinson:
“That makes the both of us, actually. So, uh, how do we wanna do this? We can throw it back and forth between each other or something,” She chuckled, half-halfheartedly lifting the bag up from the floor.
“That’s one idea, although there’s nothing valuable or anything in it is there? We should probably make sure we don’t break anything doing this.” Faye said with a smile, enjoying the girl’s company already.
Dinner Date // Faye & August
arushofaugust:
That’s basically what I did, I’m basically good with anything that doesn’t have meat. I chose vegetable fried rice. Simple, but choosing randomly sometimes does that. He smiled, it hit him again that he was out with such a beautiful girl who was like him in how they were both hard of hearing. The waitress brought by glasses of water and he took a sip of his.
We’re so alike, it’s funny, Faye said, smiling and moving her hair out of her face, That sounds nice, though. She was enjoying herself a lot and the evening had barely started. She couldn’t help but think how great it was that they were so similar, it was rare that she was able to befriend someone and click with them quite so quickly. So, how has your day been? Did moving in go well? She asked, realising she hadn’t asked yet and she wanted to be polite.
amber-parkinson:
“Okay, I’ve only got this one bag to carry up to my new apartment, so if you could help me, it’d really be appreciated.”
“Uh, yeah, sure, I can help! Just a warning, though, I have the upper body strength of a butterfly so we might have to tag team it and, like, swap after every other floor or something.”
xaviersolsen:
Xavier shook his head. “I’m not the type of person to waste their time with white lies,” he shrugged and entered the cafe. “Now there’s a first… Not necessarily every day I get a door held open for me, but I’ll take it.” He laughed, walking up to the counter and letting his eyes roam over the menu hanging on the wall behind it. “What’re you getting? It’s on me.”
Faye grinned, “Well, I got to the door first, I wasn’t exactly going to close it and then make you open it again yourself, that’s just inconvenient.” She said, laughing along with him, “Oh, I don’t know... I think I’ll go for a cappuccino. But I can’t make you pay for me.”

Dick shot a glance at the elevator button. “No you see I have to— never mind. You know they have a name for that club? It’s called the Old Boy Network, and it is insufferable.” He rolled his eyes. The elevator finally trundled down to their level and the doors open with a loud “zhoomf”. Dick stepped inside, careful to keep the box out of the door’s way this time, and looked back to Faye again to listen to what she was saying.
“Nonsense, don’t be bothered by the money, you’ll probably need it as incentive anyway… I’m an awful student. Rather annoyingly I seem to be distracted by the most whimsical of things. You don’t have to of course,” He added hastily on the end, not wanting to force the poor girl into anything she didn’t want to. “But I’ll have coffee? And probably Chinese takeout too if you’re interested?”
“Oh my God, I didn’t think it was a real thing. I don’t understand why you’d start a club and then give it the most pretentious name in the world,” Faye replied with a light laugh. She then followed Dick into the elevator and put her box down for the ride up.
“If you’re sure... I just don’t want to be a pain by taking money from you.” She said, before shrugging it off and realising that she’d actually found a pretty good deal. “Okay, fine, I’ll teach you. But it’s the promise of coffee that convinced me, I feel like I’ll probably need it,” She joked , grinning.
ayyyden-jackson:
“Multi-tasking was never one of my strong suits…” said Aiden sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. “I’m glad you’re okay though. I’m Aiden.”
“Yeah, yeah, lucky for both of us it only hit my foot.” Faye replied, with a small shrug, “My name’s Faye, it’s nice to meet you, all things considered.”
Dinner Date // Faye & August
arushofaugust:
August flipped to the vegetarian side, scanning the options quickly and picking at random. As long as it didn’t have meat in it, he wasn’t picky and he wanted to be adventurous. He watched Faye look a the menu, not interrupting her until she put it down. Anything look good?
It all looks nice, I’m having trouble deciding. She signed before shrugging, she was incredibly indecisive and was impressed at how quickly he seemed to have picked compared to her. I’ll probably just end up closing my eyes and pointing at something to make up my mind. What are you getting? Faye finished signing, questioning him. Honestly, she just wanted to know if he was getting something that she could steal from his plate.

Kathleen looked up at the sound of footsteps to see girl approaching her. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, it’s a party out here.” She sighed, the bitterness taking too much effort for her to keep it up. “I left my keys at work, so I’m going to have to wait until it’s a less ungodly time to get in.” She explained.
Faye didn’t know what to do other than to smile apologetically, “I’m sorry, that probably didn’t help,” she said, “Seriously, though, that really sucks. If you want someone to keep you company while you’re locked out, I’m free?” She offered, realising it was probably the only thing she could actually do to help.
ayyyden-jackson:
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry,” said Aiden, crashing his way out of the bush and scooping up guitar and board. “I’m still really bad at Skating and I was in a hurry. Are you alright?”
“Oh- No, no, don’t worry about it.” Faye, replied, smiling to show that she meant it. “Maybe skating with a guitar wasn’t the best idea then, you know, if you’re not so great at it? I’m fine, honestly, just a little surprised,” she said, playing it off with a laugh.
kathleentf:
After rummaging around her bag for what felt like the millionth time - though it was probably only the third - she resorted to the drastic measure of pouring its contents out on the floor in front of her locked apartment door. The verdict was clear, she had forgotten her keys at work. It was already too late in the night to make the trip back and it wasn’t likely that reception was open. She groaned, leaning back against her door. “This day can’t get any worse.”
Faye had, for once, decided to actually take the stairs up to her apartment instead of the elevator. She was nearly home, thank God, but not before she came across a woman who was obviously distressed stood outside one of the doors with the contents of her bag surrounding her. Rather than just continuing on her way, Faye walked over and tried to offer some kind of comforting smile, asking, “Hey, is everything okay? You don’t seem to be having the best time...”

“Is it acceptable for me to nap here? I just had a full day of classes and my shift at the shelter starts in an hour and I’m so sleepy.”
“Sorry? What did you just say? And can I ask why you’re on the floor, like, that’s where all the dirt from people’s shoes is and stuff.”
