When the doctors had confirmed that they were pretty sure Kaiden was stable for the time being, Kody was left in the room with the younger boy. He didn’t move at all; he stayed sat on a chair, which was pulled up to Kaiden’s bed as close as it could possibly be, and he held his hands with both of his own.
He’d been unconscious all night, so of course Kody didn’t sleep at all. He was traumatised by what had happened; he didn’t know if Kaiden was going to wake up at all. He hadn’t stopped crying. He was silently crying; the thought of loosing the only person who really loved him-and who he loved more than anything-was the scariest thing ever.
Kody was so relieved when Kaiden sat up. When Kaiden noticed that he was with him, Kody buried his head into his neck, wrapping his arms around his waist. He cried hysterically. “K-Kaid!” He cried. “O-oh my g-god, Kaid…” He kissed the crook of his neck countless times. He didn’t know what to say. “K-Kaid…”
He saw the heartbreaking expression that was sat on Kaiden’s face when he pulled away. “I-it’s okay. I’m ju-just glad you’re o-okay.” He rested his head on Kaiden’s legs as he cried. “W-why? Wha-what did I do?” He was so full of questions. He looked up, his eyes were sore from crying. “P-please don’t c-cry..” He wiped the tear away from his boyfriend’s cheek. He put his head in his hands and just cried more as the image was placed in his head. “Y-yeah, they were r-really…” He winced before carrying on. It hurt him emotionally to even thing about it. “…d-deep.” He pulled Kaiden into a hug again, his tears soaking his shirt. He looked into his eyes, resting his hand on his cheek. “Y-you are in no way a-any of th-those. You’re the m-most amazing, b-beautiful person I have ever m-met, and to think I c-could have lost you…” He couldn’t finish his sentence. He just said, through all his tears, “I l-love you so, so, sp m-much.” and pulled him into a kiss.
