●: Our muses try to solve a mystery together
Are you okay?! The words came in a muffled sound and his vision blurred so much it was almost dizzying. So this was what the whole ‘seeing stars' felt like, Jackson thought to himself, groaning as he shut his eyes, dropping his head to the ground. He needed a good moment to regroup, gather enough energy to recover from the blow of his fall. “I'm al-fuck- I’m good,” he managed to choke out, his sore muscles telling him very different. “Just give me a second,” he breathed heavily, taking a moment before bringing himself to his feet and kicking the broken floor boards around till he found his flash light. Jax? The man was quiet, focusing his eyes on his surroundings as he shown the artificial light around the dark. Jax-- As he did so, he wondered how the hell they got themselves into this sort of thing. Never once did he think they'd ever actually look into it.
Landon and Jackson ran into a really old man in the hotel while they were having breakfast. And through the entire meal, he told a story about an old town mystery- a scavenger hunt that led to some very valuable treasures. It had been an old myth for decades, but no one ever completed it because the house where the treasure was said to be hidden was haunted. At first it was all just a joke, really; an idea they both tossed about. And yet, here they were in that haunted house, searching high and low for that treasure. It didn't seem all that haunted to him. Jackson, what's going on down there? "Landon, chill out, man. I'm just trying to see what's down here-- holy shit," Jackson stopped as he noticed something reflecting back at him and the closer he got, he realized that they'd done it. They found the end of the hunt. "Holy fuck, man-- Landon! Get down here, man- bring the lights, the backpacks-- We fucking found it!!"

Things seemed off today- he wasn't sure why, but things just didn't seem as in place as they usually were. And it all started with a phone call to his roommate. It was an easy day and the annoying family from hell had finally left the hotel. What was even better, Jax had scored the entire weekend off which only called for a nice celebration. You see, in his mind, even though they'd both gotten Landon kicked out of the hotel room, they were now roommates. Landon didn't have to live in such a temporary home. He could paint the walls, rip up the carpet for stained wooden floors and almost anything he pleased. And considering the fact that Jackson's boss was a lot more cool about the entire situation, everything was going great. But when the blonde made a call to initiate a night of drinks, he could tell there was something wrong despite the agreement. And since hanging up, it's bothered the man until he got home.
Reaching the apartment, Jackson slid the key into it's hole, unlocking it before entering with several items piled into his arms. "Wing delivery boy," he called, stepping further in to drop all things other than the take-out box of wings. When he noticed the living room was empty, Jackson raised a brow at how quiet it was. It was almost as if Landon had never even moved in. "Landon?" And that's when the noise began. The door opposite of his own bedroom had swung open abrupt and slammed shut behind him. Met with an obvious angered Landon, Jackson took a step back, letting him storm past to the fridge as he remained silent. "Woah--... dude-- what's up?" he asked, setting the box on the table as he watched the other. It took a few moments, but eventually Landon faced Jackson and explained what had happened- he didn't fully understand everything, but he nodded anyhow and offered his support. Jackson leaned against the table, resting with his arms crossed over his chest. When his friend was through, he shook his head and sighed. "Look at yourself, man-- I mean, fuck that guy. He's an idiot, but you're letting him affect you and that's bull. He's not worth the anger and frustration!" Jackson stood taller, picking the box of wings back up and offering it to his roommate as his free hand reached for a couple of cold beers he brought home as well. "Instead of letting him ruin the night, why don't we just kick back, drink, eat wings and channel all that negative energy on some games?" Jackson wasn't the best guy to give advice, but he was good at distracting his friends to get them to smile again, when it was needed. And that's exactly what he intended on doing with Landon, hopefully by the end of it they'd both be able to sort out the problem in a calmer manner.
