Well, I’d be a little offended if you didn’t. I like to think that--.. I don’t know, people are at least a little bit happy they’ve met me. I think my career aspiration probably has a lot to do with the fact I spent majority of my childhood in hospital or injured somehow. Turns out I had a bit of a talent when it came to participating in stupid activities and breaking all sorts of bones. I wasn’t -- I didn’t think of that, but if you were up for it I wouldn’t complain. A bit of company on an exciting journey, hey?

A strange, yet unique combination I can guarantee you will never come across ever again. Well, you might in a mental asylum. I'm specialising in internal medicine. Oh, nice -- I’ve never been to Detroit. Yeah, unfortunately. As much as I’d like to move on to bigger and better things, I can’t bring myself to leave. Med student -- I was always pretty poor at English at school, so unfortunately journalism was never the career for me. Yeah, that’s always an added bonus. So where are you from, Adaline?

It’s the dim, cloudy lighting, I tell you. It’s creating the illusion that my teeth look okay, but I’m actually slowly developing fangs. I’m being sentenced to an eternity of dim, cloudy lighting and daytime naps. A Cullen? No! I’m a fucking cool vampire, dammit! The Cullens aren’t real vampires.

I don’t -- Maybe just a little bit wavy? I’ve never really thought about it before. Ha, Strange Hayden is kind of fitting, actually. However I think Hayden will have to do for now. No, the pleasure is all mine, Adaline. What brings you to our little town?

No, I’m afraid that I can’t say that I have, actually. I’m only really a video game person when it’s multiplier and I’m getting the chance to kick someone’s ass. The ending to a game called Grand Theft Auto had you emotional? I would think that if that much sunscreen doesn’t do the trick, you really need to get some things figured out and find a way to get out more so that you don’t have these problems.

GTA does have a multiplayer feature, you know -- I wouldn’t recommend playing it with me, though, ‘cause I’m pretty professional. Like, no offence, but I don’t think you’d stand a chance. I can’t say anything without giving away any spoilers, but shit, the ending is so emotional. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with my antisocial lifestyle. Video games make great companions.

Must be a pretty intense new game if it kept you holed up in your own home for a few days. Have they amped up the tactics so that it’s more realistic? 4D video game or some shit? I would be careful, if I were you though. You’re looking a little pale and it would be a pity if you burnt your first day back out of the house.

Have you played it before? Shit gets so heated--.. like, there’s so many potentially life changing decisions to be made, and it involves some serious thought. The ending even had me a little emotional, if I’m being completely honest. I’ve slapped on enough sunscreen to protect me for the next two weeks, so I’m hoping for the best. But with my track record, it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if I ended up looking like a lobster after just five minutes out in the sun.

How will I ever be able to sleep at night now, knowing you’re out there, following me closely and plotting my demise? C’mon, Cherie will be so beyond pissed with me if I get my ass thrown in jail. I truly think you’ve watched one too many investigative shows, too. Not that that’s a bad thing -- they’re one of the most interesting kinds of shows, in my opinion. Borrow your bronzer? I don’t think that’ll be necessary, but I appreciate the offer. Maybe I’m unable to achieve a perfect tan and you’re actually seriously insulting me right now. It truly made my heart ache when I arrived back home only to be faced with expressions of distaste rather than yours which mirrors that of a pained kitten. And to know that the company of a video game has been favoured over mine? The impenetrable wall that is my heart has been struck and is slowly crumbling at the thought.

See I feel like everyone goes through these times where they disappear for a few days or possibly more. But, it seems like no one questions it ever. How do I know you’re really not apart of some drug cartel? You could very well be a hit man travelling across country and hiding bodies, but using Grand Theft Auto Five as a cover up. Because I -- you know what? You've worked out a pretty convincing theory there, Nova. Have you considered a career as a detective? All you need now is some evidence to back this up and then you've got yourself a real case. However, you're not going to find any evidence because I genuinely was playing Grand Theft Auto the entire time. So, like, don't quit your day job or anything. Hey, you leave my pasty skin alone. Thank you -- it's nice to see at least someone's glad to see me, despite not even knowing me. Name's Hayden, and disappearing for days on end because of video games has kinda become my thing as of recent. Yeah, 'course I won! If I hadn't, you'd have seen an Xbox go flying out a bedroom window.
