I know, I know— it’s a skill and I can’t exactly resist leaving a token of my affection for one of my favorite customers. I’m just not that kind of person. 

I’m always feeling generous when it comes to talking to you, Quinn, I’m sure you know that by now. You’re one of the only people who looks remotely interested when I regale them with stories about... like, the political systems of ancient civilizations. It takes a certain kind of person to deal with that. I’m happy to sit and talk when my shift is over, though, if you’re really itching for it. I’m sure I could pop in a few decent points here or there.

Oh shit, sorry for not saying hi.  I’m running all over the damn place whenever we have a party.  And I’m probably busy whooping dudes asses in drinking competitions.  Dunno if you were at our 90s Night rager last semester but I def conked out way early after I won the jungle juice power hour.  Fucking epic.

I mean, I try to call her at least once every couple weeks if it’s possible— and then as soon as that doesn’t happen I think she must think I’m dead in a ditch somewhere. 

Don’t sweat it, I know that shit’s hectic on a good night so I’m really not trippin’ about it. I think I’m usually one of the people in the crowd when that happens, but I kinda like my liver semi-functioning and hangovers aren’t my thing, so. I don’t think I’d try to challenge you with the drinking shit. Jungle juice power hour? Fuck, dude, last time I saw anyone go hard with jungle juice they spent the rest of their night on their ass in the ER. Clearly, you’re the fuckin’ champ.

Of course, it’s not the most exciting of adventures but we’ll come up with a way to make it, well, exciting.

I have no doubt about that. Mind if I bring Balto? He won’t be able to go inside but I’m hoping it won’t take forever and he could use a walk.

That’s how he gets ya! Those big eyes just sucker everyone every time, I swear to god. Aw, Nic, I’d miss you too. I have time to go in like half an hour; you wanna go for an adventure? Not that picking up new phones is exciting but yanno. It’s somethin’.

I mean, between basically living at the shop and on campus there hasn’t been a lot of time for cool kid finding, but look at me now. 

I swear I almost shed a tear, and Balto was very remorseful for about a full thirty seconds. Later today I’m hoping, as much as I didn’t mind being away from things— my ma might ax murder me if I go without one for much longer.

Balto was trying to drink out of the toilet in my apartment again, and I went to try and wrangle him and he knocked my phone outta my hand and into the toilet. It was tragic, honestly. I couldn’t save it from a watery grave.

I mean, I did— that’s like, a necessity but the parental units are on the west coast and they want a certain amount of attention I can’t give very well without a phone. Mama Sorenson was not pleased, lemme just say that. I tried to like, just, be off the grid but I guess that’s boned before it starts if you have to go to class every other day. 

Nice to officially meet you— I think I’ve been to some of your parties, dude, no lie. Maybe seen you in a class or two but sometimes people start to blur together, so who really knows.

Have you honestly stayed inside and away from social media accounts this entire time because your phone broke, Sir?

... Okay, no. You got me already— I’m not usually the kind of guy who’s big on social media so that didn’t bother me much. My Facebook tends to be full of idiots, so I find it’s best to avoid it if at all possible. And I like being outside so I did do that; I guess I just avoided unnecessary interaction with people? Which is still super weird, like, I didn’t really understand how jarring it was to not be in virtually constant contact with certain people until I wasn’t.

I’m rambling a bit, apologies.

Ever get that feeling you’ve been a hermit for so long you’re gonna walk outside and everything’s gonna be weird and disorienting? I’m not having that experience exactly but my phone’s been broken and having a means of connecting to the world again is kind of... enlightening. 

Enough about that— Aleks, is me, and I guess this is my way of pushing myself out of the hermit habit. Hey, folks?
