His brows met upon hearing what Aspen had to say. “Why would you think that?” He asked her in a soft voice and when she looked up at him, the only thing that he saw was the worrying evident on her face. He sighed, of course, he understood. She was right, they weren’t even engaged yet there’s a big possibility that she might be carrying a baby — their baby. “Yeah, just…whatever sign the tests shows, I’ll be here, okay?” He assured her and watched as she disappeared to the bathroom. Gabe then realized that as he was waiting for her to come back, he was fidgeting while he sat on the bed — one sure way to know that he was, indeed, worried as well. Then, about a few minutes later, Aspen emerged from the bathroom and he looked up. “Well?” He said and then, he felt his shoulder set at her answer. Six positive tests, the words repeated themselves on his head. “All positive?” was the only thing he could say before he stood up to walk over closer to her. “You’re pregnant. We’re having a baby.” He said, a smile then curving his lips. “This is like a blessing in disguise, babe. We’re gonna be fine —- you’re gonna be. I’m here. I’m not leaving you…ever.”
Aspen wrapped her arms around his neck holding tightly to him. “I love you.” She said before pulling back slightly. “I’m pregnant..” Aspen said not really believing it herself. “Well, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. We stopped using protection 2 years ago. I’m surprised it took this long.” Aspen said pulling away from him. “There’s so much we have to do. I can call your mom and ask about any doctors she knows. Looks like this puts med school on hold too..” She said before noticing she was rambling and turned to look at Gabe fully. “Sorry, I do that when I get nervous. I mean you know that but...” Aspen sighed. “We’re going to be parents..”
