âI had that once, but it was husband and it was our anniversary. He had this whole thing plannedâŠ.sorry, Iâm rambling now.â
âno youâre totally fine and iâm actually interested in hearing this. if youâre okay with telling it, of course.â
melicrisms:
âwait, so, you actually have to dive in after them?â sam asks, concerned. âlike they actually are in the water, pretending to drown? because thatâs⊠kinda messed up.â he says, brows furrowing as he takes a drink from his own cup, welcoming the warmth. âyouâd think they could come up with a better way to ask for your number.â
âyep. i have to take the flotation device and whistle blow. the full package,â blue eyes roll as she brings her cup up to her lips again. cupping it in both hands to have the heat radiate to her fingers, she nods her head carefully. âi donât know why the sandlot decided to give people this idea. or why kids think i canât tell when theyâre fake drowning versus real drowning.â
lnclnmuse:
âI mean in movies they do it so the pretty life guard will kiss them or do CPR but they still get their mouth on their own. Dying isnât sexy, and anything along those lines is far from that to.â
âdying isnât sexy. i feel like i should get that that tattooed so the next time some wild kid wants to swallow a bunch of sea water, theyâll think twice about it.â

itâs been a while since the last time genevieve was this happy. with the warmth of the sun doing wonders for her, she decides to practice a few tricks on the shore before she heads home from her time on the beach. sheâs doing a simple backhand spring when she nearly tumbles into the brunette. â oh, je suis dĂ©solĂ©, â she apologizes as she regains her balance, â i did not see you coming. â though genuinely sorry, she canât get rid of the smile that has made residence on her face.
( @fclixiisms liked THIS for a starter )
rotation was the best part of felixs day, it meant she got to leave the way too high up lifeguard stand and let her sunburn cool off in the salt water. before the boy could make it fully up the stand to relieve her, she had bolted down towards the water. she was used to being bumped around, but it didnât stop her from nearly jumping out of her skin as the other collided with her. what the fuck did she just say?? too embarrassed to ask, felix just simply nodded her head. âit was my fault,â she admitted, as her b-line to the water didnât include awareness of her surroundings as much as it should have. âwhereâd you learn how to do that??â impressed, felix was never one for intense physical activity, and often wished she had gotten into gymnastic or acrobatics in dance.
lnclnmuse:
âGlad he had thought so to. Made for one hell of a good night. Maybe youâll be lucky and someone would try something different one day.â
âone day, probably a billion years from now. as long as i'm watching over dumb teenagers on the beach, itâll continue to happen. i once had a kid try to eat a crab, like fresh out of the ocean. i donât understand why.â
river-grant:
âthat would be pretty terrible,â he agreed, running a hand through his hair. âlikewise, felix. thatâs pretty.â
âitâs number nine on my top ten worst things that could happen to me.â she almost rolls hey eyes, but controls herself, âshut up, my name is gross,â sheâs never been to fond of it, âyours is cute though.â
lnclnmuse:
âPeople are seriously a let down now a days. I am more attracted to someone who walks up to me and goes âyour hot, we should go to dinner.â instead of thinking they have to do something extreme.â
âi guess thatâs too simple for some people. the internet has hyped up dramatic ass romantic proposals so much that people feel the average asking isnât as good anymore. which sucks, because thatâs more meaningful at the end of the day.â
mendozaism:
âoh, thatâs absolutely disgusting. tongues can be gross sometimes when you even want them in your mouth let alone some random thinking itâs fine to do that. ew.â ariela shuddered. âi mean, it defers you from actually doing your job. itâs not going to make you want to stick around. people are stupid.âÂ
âi couldnât think straight for at least three hours afterwards. i didnât even know how to respond either, i just stood up and walked back to my post. if it wasnât for my love for the ocean, i wouldâve quit a long time ago. between the gross tongue mishaps and how many times i get cursed at because someone left something in the sand and it washed away. but iâm like moana you know, it calls me, so i donât think i could ever leave it.â
lnclnmuse:
âI was sixteen, it was summer break and the lifeguard was a college guy doing a summer job. Oh no it was fine, I was the one that practically crawled out of the pool coughing and spitting up water like an idiot. If I ever come across another hot lifeguard Iâll remember that.â
âthere are a few good looking ones in the rotation. well, theyâre hot until they open their mouths. they have the same frat boy personality. i actually think that itâs one guy who split himself three times. but either way theyâre probably nice for quick hookups.â
it had reached the point in the night where the beach was practically abandoned, give or take a few stray fishermen that scattered across the shore. felix had planted herself at the edge of the water, letting the cascading waves just barely touch the heels of her feet. it wasnât like she had a particularly stressful day at work, she just really wanted a break from what was her mundane reality. and thatâs why she had invited greyson out, he was like a piece of her home away from home, someone who kept her grounded. she rolled a blunt between her fingers, knowing theyâd have to be careful with it. if caught, she could loose her job. the risk was minimal though, and she wasnât afraid of it. though claiming fear wasnât evident, she still almost jumped out of her skin when she felt a presence. âfuckinâ hell greys. a warning wouldâve been nice,â she rolls her eyes, playfully, turning to face the blonde. âplease tell me you brought a light.â

at least she could admit that asking jackson to pick her up from the bar wasnât the best idea. it wasnât that she was drunk, but she wasnât exactly sober either, which meant that she didnât want to be alone. and as much as she didnât want to admit it, she had missed her favorite asshole. though the text message sent had barely made any sense, she hoped it was legible enough to be able to leave the shitty street corner and she  wouldnât have to worry that someone would try and mess with her. not because potentially she could end up hurt, but because if jackson saw it happening a war would ensue. leaning against the side of the building, she could feel herself growing impatient with the other, her drunken haze starting to leave her. pulling out her phone, she realized what she thought was actual words, ended up just being a sea of emojis. letting out a sigh at herself, she pressed the facetime button in hopes of making more sense with her words. once the too loud screeching of a loading call ended, her lips pulled up in a smile. âsorry, apparently i canât fuckinâ text while buzzed. can you come pick me up?? pretty please??â cherry red lips turned into a pout, trying her best to guilt trip him into helping her out.

âPeople really do that?â Jasper asked with furrowed brows âI mean I donât get why, seems kindsâŠ.dangerous to do that.â
âright?? itâs just a early 90âČs movie cliche that shouldnât be lived out in real life. i donât really get it either, i guess itâs fun to pretend to be in danger. i donât know, iâm just worried someone is actually going to get hurt because of it.â
