a moment of peace presented itself for once. idle hands felt odd, the tiny woman was quite accustomed to always being on her feet, always going, always coming, always doing something. her sister relied on her and she swore to herself she would not disappoint. even if she drove herself to the brink of insanity, lily would be there. the bills would be paid. her sister would be taken care of one way or another. her daisy had suffered though much in her short life, their mother and father had made sure of it and she refused to be another name on that list. now, strangely enough she found a day to herself as daisy was off on a trip to canada. blue hues focused on the screen of her phone as she texted her to see how her trip was going. she almost didn’t know what to do with herself or where to go with this newfound freedom. she ended up doing the one thing she had been wanting to do for a while– go on a hike. try to be a little more “healthy”. it was ridiculous how little she had explored the beautiful greenery surrounding her and today had felt like the perfect day to scratch off a new year’s resolution from her list. dainty feet made their way through the damp floor, avoiding any objects that would pose a threat to the already so very clumsy woman. she stopped for a moment to switch the tune that was echoing through her airdrops when she heard a very faint noise. usually, she wouldn’t have thought twice, but in that particular moment in time, she became very aware of the headlines that had been plaguing forks. all those animal attacks... beads of perspiration formed on her pale forehead as she stopped dead in her tracks. breathing didn’t even feel like an option as she didn’t want to alert what she thought could be an animal of her presence.
