The harsh blinding glare of light that had transitioned the abstraction's oil black fragments into bright blinding beams akin to a teardrop of the sun flooded into the hallway, harsh discordant static, whining screams akin to torn gears and software malfunctioning growing to a deafening degree.
An overstimulating maelstrom of noise and light that seemed to bend the physical boundaries of the environment contracting to the discordant forces only to shatter under the weight of its pull.
Broken lashing arms of code and corrupted 3d models ripping through the hallway as if a mangled joined mess of limbs, fraying about creating roaring riptides of corrupted data and instability through every surface it slammed into. Paintings knocked astray, tables shattered on impact, doors turned into craters of shattered wood and stone.
The circus could only stand paralyzed as if witnessing the event horizon of a collapsing star unleash cascades of destruction in its wake. 3d environments growing bland, untextured, the lines blurring as objects shifted between complex topology and basic cubes.
Pomni chased solutions like vanishing shadows, racing against some unseen clock that had wrapped around her throat and ticked away as if counting down to midnight. This was the only possibility, her only chance. failure meant that this opportunity would slip out of her hands forever and that he would be lost.
She had been so close, they had finally gotten to talk.
They finally gotten to see each other for who they were.
And then came the light, like an uncaring sun rising on a cloudless day.
A ripping current tearing through Jax's body releasing a cascade of discordant jumbled screams as the very being with her arms turned and twisted thrashing about through sheer agony and desperation as if clawing at the door in panic and desperation for any kind of reprieve.
Her grip grew tighter, the jester like gloves melting with that same light rippled across her skin akin to flaking bits of paint as it crept across her as she clung to that rippling mess of light. "Jax- I'm still here- I'm not leaving!" she shouted as she squeezed her eyes shut, tears pricking her eyes as that harsh light rippled through her.
for a moment behind those closed eyes she could almost see everything rushing past her mind as directions changed and she could no longer tell if she stood and had fallen. Flashes raced through her vision, raw code stood before her in some unreadable language with the lines blurring on where she ends and the ball of light before her begins.
Pain coursed through her, rippling about as if a dagger had been jammed into her head and thrashed about in raw panic as her head throbbed. her arms tightening around jax clinging to him despite the pain refusing to lose him among the blinding light.
She saw ribbit, her throat grew hoarse as if she had been arguing for hours, she felt almost-
she was standing outside some door, leaning against it while twiddling some strange bug between her fingers, a grin on her face-
her hands clenched onto jax, the light, the sound, everything had become so deafening she could not even realize she was screaming nor how raw her throat felt as lines blurred and the world seemed to grow only more deafening and unstable as she clung to jax as if he were a life line in the face of the abyss.
she could feel Jax's arms wrapped around her back, yet tugging, as if trying to pull away from her while entangled in vines or some unseen rope. but she knew, just as she could feel in her gloves what had happened. somewhere past all the screaming, past the blurring of thought and time, as her gloves melted into that blur of light and fur, so to had those fur covered hands melted into her back as if dissolved by acid.
she refused, even if it hurt, even if it was painful, she was not going to abandon him. not here, not ever. she clung tighter despite the mess of light, fur, and rubber melting about them as she grit her teeth even as they begun to crack, her mind asunder trying to pull its frays together if only to speak, to calm him down.
weak, stuttered with a glitched voice that seemed almost to mimic some failing audio program. "J-J-J-Jax!" she shouted through the pain, burying her face in what she could only presume was her shoulder. "I'm...I'm still here! I'm not gonna leave!"
Thoughts raced through a mind pierced by pain and delusional agony that made her hands grow numb and her legs beginning to ache and feel as though they had given out long ago. she wouldnt let go, no matter how much her mind screamed. they couldn't let this opportunity go to waste. they had to get out of here, they needed to get out.
he needed to get out
she needed to get out
the pain was growing so much and so loud the lines had blurred to the point pomni wasnt sure what was her hand and what was jax. memories rushed about her like a murder of crows, minds blurring, memories tearing at the seams.
she struggled, fighting against the eye watering, shearing blind pain-filled brightness searing bits of melted gloves, fur and more melting together. combined almost, her eyes water in such sheer agony as more and more of her vision begun to pirece the light, eyes opening upon her arm. from her head, from hands, her mind growing darker under the light before-
a hand, a claw of plastic had ripped into the plastic, tearing between them. a clear line of code that seemed to cut through the melted mess of classes, variables, and names. a cage, a seperation. lines drawn so clearly among blurry sand-
as if a pair of scissors cutting through a strand, it was gone. the feeling of flesh ripping, plastic crackling, with eyes squeezed tight as light gave way to darkness.
Zooble grabbed onto a nearby doorway. having grabbed one of their sharper appendages and wedged into the wall to brace themselves, to help hold a lasso of appendages, arms, legs, bodies that had served their purpose spinning about in their arms as gangle helped to intertwine each limb.
"its too damn bright- i cant see pomni!" zooble tried shielding their eyes, looking through trying to spot a shadow, any kind of shadow through the bright colorful abstraction, the roaring light, and the waves of cacophonous screeching code that slammed into the walls, cracking them apart.
Ragatha was helping to hold the lasso getting ready to throw it for zooble, licorice hair whipping about as stuffing dripped down her cheek. "I-I Can't- I don't know where to throw-" "Get down!" kinger had grabbed onto her shoulders pulling her down as a severed line of code ripped through the air, slamming into the wall above her, slicing through it sending a wave of debris and dust about causing the doorway to collapse and slam into ragatha, pinning her.
"i-i- we have to throw it now! the circus cant handle their code getting mixed up like this, we have to separate them!" kinger shouted, struggling to be heard over the screeching abstraction and ripping winds. zooble quickly grabbed the lasso of limbs and begun spinning them, getting ready to throw them-
There! zoobles eyes widened spotting a dark spot within the void of light and quickly casting the limbs inside. the limbs flailed about before suddenly locking tight around something in the light, zooble, kinger and gangle quickly pulling hard on it trying to pry pomni out of the light.
a horrid ripping sound filled the air, akin to flesh ripping or Velcro pulling away from another vibrating down the arms as they pulled before a snap pierced the air as if a tree was shattered in half before the entire room fell into darkness, the lasso of arms slamming into zooble, sending them to the ground, gangle barely able to let out a cry as the lasso of limbs wrapped around and coiled through her ribbons dragging her to the ground.
kinger fell to the ground as the darkness became almost more so blinding after such sharp light.
zooble fumbled around, feeling for the lasso before quickly pulling on it hand over hand getting to the end. "pomni- Pomni are you okay!" Their arms quickly closed around her shoulders trying to-
the blood froze in their nonexistent veins, and the feeling of a rock filled their stomach.
their hands quickly rose to their eyes rubbing and batting at them trying to get the light out of them and adjust to the darkness trying to make out Pomni before them, and yet their blood only grew more cold as the first thing they saw was a mix of purple rabbit ears tinged with dark oil like black. and an abstraction running off in the distance, screeching through the darkness.
Zooble grabbed the wrong one.
