Dominic: I hope you understand my reservations about having you around Akemi with your family's business and your history. I'll always be weary and if I had a choice, I'd rather you don't spend too much time around her.
Dan: What I do? What my family does is as legal as yours or anyone else's family.
Dan: Whatever you think we did I would never be around Akemi or Taylor is for one second I thought it would put them in danger.

He’s well behaved and loved everywhere in the hotel.” Plus, Dominic yelled at the last bartender who tried to tell him a dog wasn’t allowed in the Chelsea’s bar. “I’ll feel safer if I’m able to see my drink as it’s being made. Believe it or not I don’t think you’re above slipping me a roofie.”
“Hey, it’s not bar. If they allow him in then fine by me” Dan told him and then rolling his eyes “Really? A roofie? When I can just wait until you bore yourself to sleep” and walking in he took a seat in one of the booths “See, nice mutual ground”

“Somehow I seriously doubt you’re capable of that, but I’ll bite.” Dominic turns to look at Dan. “Oh, that will be rich. Should I expect the conversation to happen here, or can I do it in the comfort of the bar?”
“You’ll never know unless you try” Dan said “and of course you can, take the pooch to your room and meet me at the bar” He gestured to the place behind him “to show how nice I can be I’ll even buy the first round”

Dominic sighs and just turns around. As always, Daniel is too much for him to handle. His nerves just crumble at the sight of the man, not to mention the sound of his annoying voice. “Have a nice life, Daniel. Come on, Remi.”
"Oh Come on, Priestly" Dan said "fine, I'll lay down my snark if you can lay down yours. Besides, I do need to talk to you. Quips and my brilliant comebacks aside"

“Oh, bougie.” It was good to know who lived on the top few floors, this way– if there was ever a massive fire– he knew exactly who to help and who to lock in a broom closet. “What? Don’t believe me?”
The sixth floor chimed open, revealing a drag queen dressed in vibrantly colored latex and carrying a squirming plush banana– well, not a banana– a raccoon wearing a banana outfit. “Floyd, your damn rat gave his toys a bath in the shitter again. I am not going to get them out.”
“Hello, Darling! Be with you in a second.” Floyd beamed at the sight, then slowly turned to the other elevator occupant. “’Fraid I hafta go. I’d say it’s been a pleasure, but that’d be a lie– you smell you’ve been fisitng a ninety year old Frenchman and didn’t even bother to wash.”
“I tend not to believe most people until they give me a reason” Dan said “so I wouldn’t take anything personally”
Looking at the scene in front of him Dan’s eyes go a bit wide in surpris and he wonders if he stepped into a David Lynch film for a second and turning to Floyd he almost misses everything the man has to say, but never one to not have the last word he composes himself “Sounds like something a person who lives on the sixth floor would say, ebjoy your garbage and rat toys”

“Would you have sex with me right now?” Taylor asked as he took a bite from his sandwich, “terrible, but that’s expected. Dominic hasn’t been showing her anything I’ve sent her and just decided to pretend like I didn’t exist.”
“Only if you wanted to” Dan said “what do you expect on short notice” He takes a bite of his own sandwich “I don’t know why you don’t just take him to court already. You are her father to and you have rights”

Dominic finally pats his thigh and Remi wiggles over to him, happy as can be. “Do you make it your life’s mission to be impossible to have a civil conversation with, or am I just that special?” Dominic isn’t even going to mention Akemi’s name around this guy. “You’re saying that as if it’s a bad thing I had a stable home for the past few years. Then again, what would you know about stable, right?”
"I thought we were having one" Dan said "no cursing, raised voices. I would say we're being downright gentlemanly" He looked at Dominic and smirked "A house in Cambridge, two successful restaurants and not living in the same place where I banged at least half the residents would probably be a start"

“baby? Since when am I your baby?” he said as he rummaged through the bag, “so a deli sandwich?” he took it out, “I’m busy trying to get my daughter to find out who I am, don’t have time to go eat at your fake restaurant.”
“Since you were, what, 19?” Dan said “it’s a habit that is sometimes hard to break” he told him “I mean we can always order something in if you have a tase for something else” He rolled his eyes “How is that going by the way? I’m guessing not well”

“For fuck’s sake, don’t feed him that!” Dominic growls, exasperated, as Remi takes 0.2 seconds to finish the food. “You were invited?” he asks, not believing a word coming out of Dan’s mouth, as usual. “Yes, well, I guess we’re all leaving soon. Better pack whatever you left behind.”
“Then maybe you should feed him better then I wouldn’t have to” Dan said “I was, it tends to happen when you still have a room here and they are thinking of tearing it down, but of course, if you never left you wouldn’t know that” Dan chuckled “That’s exactly what I plan on doing” he shot back, “speaking of, how is that beautiful little girl of Taylor’s doing?”

Dominic is more infuriated by Remi’s treachery than he is by Dan’s voice. #growth. “I thought you moved out. Or went to jail.” Either option served Dominic, since it got Dan away from him. “Why are you back?” And why now, of all times. “Oh, God, does this have anything to do with Taylor again? Daniel, you have to learn to let it go.”
“Wrong on both counts, but I know you bat 5 out of 100 these days so I understand” Standing up he gives Remi the rest of his burger “Because I was invited and I decided I missed the old place, same reason you did, or...” he frowned “You never left?” He laughed “I need to let I go, you the one that brought him up, not me”
