Hi, I'm FebruaryChaos. I'm a traditional artist who draws just for fun. Mostly OC's of stories I wrote, sometimes a fanart here and there. I'm making accounts on many different platforms because dA is an dick. NO AI, NO NFT's, DON'T ADVERTISE ANYTHING TO ME BECAUSE NO.

I don't do commisions, requests or art sales of any kind.

100 Themes Challenge IV - 38. Abandoned

Heehee, definitely going for a Breath of the Wild vibe on this one. But also a cute little environmental world building exercise. A while ago I made a world for my stories to be set in. This is like an abandoned corner in the high fantasy continent. I enjoy making the mythology, so an abandoned overgrown place of worship was first to come to mind.

Eventually Berris will come to realize how precious he is to Jay. :') My gay little bebbies.

I know it's the end of Pride…But happy Pride y'all. :') I've been wanting to take stock of my LGBTQ characters, but I've always had one reason or another not to do it. There are more than just these three, but this was all I felt like doing right now.

I always feel weird about calling myself part of LBGTQ. I most definitely am, but I've never fit into communities. Or I feel intimidated by communities is a better description for it. I was basically rejected by the other kids when I went to school, I felt rejection from my own family and I felt like I was alone for the majority of my life. So yeah. Trying to become a part of a community is scary.

Mermay 2026 - 31. Sea foam

A nice last shot of Miñugluk for the last theme. There's some sea foam there, but I didn't want the theme to be a merperson turning into sea foam.

Well, finally a modern style I do have experience with. :') One more Mermay drawing to go, then I'll upload what I did for June and we're back to the once a month uploads…until probably October. I'll see what I do for Inktober.

Mermay 2026 - 29. Portals

This is now a galactic merperson. I have a song in my Spotify list called Galactic Mermaid. It consists of cute girls voices melodically swearing and I love it, especially when I'm a little angry.

Oof. This was another weird one. Not even sure what Mermaid.exe does. Is it a creepypasta? Is it a mermaid sim? Is it something completely unrelated? Who knows.

Mermay 2026 - 27. Iridescence

There's quite a few iridescent things in the sea. I have a couple of cabinets filled with different kinds of shells, since the sea is nearby where I live. One cabinet is filled with domestic shells, the other is filled with fossils and foreign shells. In the second cabinet there's a stack abalone shells (I think) of different sizes. It's great that this theme fell on a 'full drawing' day, so I could use this as a bit of a reference study.

Mermay 2026 - 26. Shel Silverstein

The corpus of Shel Silverstein is Not A Thing where I live, so I only know references to The Giving Tree because everyone hates it whenever it comes up.

Mermay 2026 - Fairy tail

…I am still unsure if they meant Fairy Tale and misspelled it or meant like…the Fairy Tail anime about a magic guild. I chose the former. While there are plenty of Fairy Tales about mermaids, I chose the Indian Water Lilies from a Dutch theme park.

In that fairy tale a moon fairy and her star children would come down to a lake to dance during the full moon while a witch sang for them. They would have to return to the heavens before dawn, or they'd be stuck on Earth. One night seven of the star children were naughty and the witch convinced them to stay after dawn. They were now stuck and during the day they would be transformed into water lilies. But at night they could dance.

I'm really not familiar with a lot of modern artists. I think this is the same artist of the 'But y tho?' painting? Or at least the same style. This is another Best Approximation case.

Mermay 2026 - 21. 8-bit

This image is probably too many bits. I remember the Barbie game for the NES. I loved the mermaid levels, but I also was a young child and thus, bad at games. I'm still not especially good at games, but I have fun. That's all we can ask for, really.

I wasn't really feeling this while drawing, unfortunately. The merperson isn't feeling getting hauled up either. 😂 'Yeah, yeah, sing yer lil shanty. I'm going to bite someone when I'm up there.'
