// i wish s.tresssed e.ric elaborated more on eric's life before the series started, like.. yeah things are said and alluded to and there are a few flashbacks, but ultimately not too much was really talked about. i guess that's fair, it was an animated sitcom and it only got two seasons, but still. there's a bit more stuff in the book that was never brought up in the series, though!! it brings up a lot of things that were never elaborated on, its a lifesaver, need to go through it again and jot down more notes.

"Is it." Eric's reply was hissed through gritted teeth and bloodied lips as he knelt before the deity--not out of reverence, but the fact that if he tried to stand now, he was certain his heart would give out from the effort.

"Do you know...just how many people...have told me that..?" He spoke in between desperate gasps for air, "Whatever you claim to be...you are no god of mine...and your judgement holds no sway over me...."

The light in Eric's eyes fizzles and dies out, glazed over with the distinct mock vigour of undeath.

Eric manages to choke back to urge to shriek...waking the children is the last thing he'd want right now. He covers his mouth with his hands, eyes wide with terror as he stares down at his assailant.

He's nearly backed himself against the wall, quaking with fear as the strange little girl wraps herself around his leg. She...seems harmless? Which doesn't assuage Eric's panic, but does pique his curiosity.

Finally, he speaks in the gentlest tone he can muster:

"H-hello there..! You.. You certainly are....affectionate! Ha..ha...." Eric manages to force a smile, "W-what do you think about... l-l-letting go of my leg...a-and introducing yourself, hm? There's a girl..."
