I still play Animal Crossing everyday. It brings me such joy and peace. I am truly grateful for all the resources that Levine Cancer Institute offers to their patients. Not only do I have a great team of oncologists, I have the option to use integrative oncology, acupuncture, massage, and online classes for support, cooking, and art. Cancer, and any other disease, is more than just medicine and surgery. You have to heal all aspects of yourself. Use tools like acupuncture, yoga, and meditation. Give your body the energetic strength to aid in the conventional western medicine and practices. Is there something you do or recommend that helps you when you are sick or going through something? Yeah chemo and cancer suck ass and is scary. However, you don’t need to let it consume you. Feel bad when you feel bad, but allow yourself to feel good when you feel good. Let your story unfold in YOUR way, because you are you and not someone else.

Now here I am sharing my story. To show what it’s like to have cancer. How cancer truly can affect anyone.

I used to have so much anxiety with my breasts because we were taught to fear them for you might find a lump and bam that’s cancer. But what I realize is we need to be informed about the breast itself, what’s normal, how it grows and changes with hormones and how things like cysts can happen or you can have dense tissue that may feel like the dreaded tumor.

As women we need to get to know our bodies, love them, honor them. Not see it as something to fear or have shame around it. To talk about our bodies and being a woman, young, old, mother, even gay and trans and see how we all are so similar and have similar thoughts and concerns.
