I am really tired of the “sex is a social construct” argument. Listen, when 50% of the world population is no longer disproportionately affected by rape, domestic violence, genital mutilation, filicide, lack of reproductive freedom, forced marriage, etc., then I’ll be perfectly happy to sit around and debate the semantics of whether biological classifications are socially constructed! Until then, sex-based oppression is, for all intents and purposes, a real thing that exists, and I’d like to be able to name the problem, thanks!

guys idk who needs to hear this but lesbians are homosexual females. If you're a lesbian and you get weirded out/don't feel attracted to trans women then that is fine!!! Trans women will never be free until people stop having strong emotions about penises. Like we, as a society, have got to stop caring about dicks! Dicks have to stop symbolizing maleness, obviously, but they also have to stop symbolizing power, dominance, sexual agency and aggression, violence, and even sex itself. Like trans women can’t be free if the very conceptual presence of a penis represents an intrusion(!) of unwanted(!) sexuality(!) in public life. Men never shut up about the violent power of their own penises. There is one criteria for being a woman, one box you have to check, and that is being biologically female. It’s disturbing how trans ideology encourages shutting down any critical thought about the female experience. As soon as a woman expresses discomfort over being female, which is unsurprising in a patriarchal world, the response is “clearly she’s a repressed trans man!”. We can’t think deeper about why so many women, “trans men” and “nonbinary” women included, feel uncomfortable with their sex. We can’t analyse how oppression can result in one feeling disconnected with the thing they’re oppressed for. Because as soon as we do, it completely invalidates the basis of female trans identity. These women would rather shut down feminist discussion and analysis so they can continue believing that their feelings mean they’re truly not women, than do the work and find solidarity with other women who feel the same way as a result of misogynistic oppression.
